I own an old abandoned building. It has been in my family for 5 generations and used to be a train station and hotel, then was later divided into 3 apartments. It was lost to the bank by a family member a decade or so ago and the bank didn’t secure it. Over $150,000 damage was done to the empty building....they even took all the doorknobs, copper wiring, and plumbing. The bank actually gave it back to my family member with 10 years taxes to pay so my husband and I bought it from him.
Now we can’t do much because of Covid and we’re on the other side of the country, but have family across the street keeping an eye on it. Our dream would be to fix it (the family member did a lot of work to it in his lifetime and just died last week and he would love it), but the cost would be astronomical. We’ll probably have to tear it down now.
This building fascinated me more than any other that I’ve seen you do. The downstairs was so well preserved compared to upstairs. Just amazing.
Thank you for respecting the place and blurring anything that would reveal its location. In this case...you’re saving lives. Those chemicals could be very dangerous in the wrong hands.
Keep doing what you’re doing guys. I love the details. You were worried in another video that they might be too long. Absolutely not! They’re just right. Be safe. And honestly, you should wear a mask in all abandoned buildings. There’s so many allergens, led in paint, asbestos and mould you’re exposing yourselves to regularly. It could take years to develop into toxic levels. Be safe.

This is very strange. The toys were from the 40’s or 50’s but the pharmacy?? That’s from 180O hundreds. You should have told someone because there are likely poisons.

I've worked in the medical field my entire career and am 60 now so this was particularly fascinating to me and perfect for my first video with you guys. Those little tiny bottles you saw in the "dodgy" area were insulin bottles most likely. Although, I could be wrong because even I bein an ole lady now was only a baby in the 60s lol. I will have to binge watch your stuff. Great vids guys.

That room would have been a post office. Not a bank. Not secure enough to be one, even for the time. Wall safes.were never used in banks. It would require a re- enforced steel cage.built in the wall. Tellers were behind steel bars. Grew up in a village with one bank where my mother worked. The post office was in a converted house. Looked similar to that room you thought was a bank.

I saw an old video about the pharmaceutical stores of the past. It was not like today where the drugs sold were mostly ready made or finished products made by drug companies. Back then if you would buy something like a cough medicine, the pharmacist would get some chemical bottles from the shelf, mix some amount this and that, and then give the finished product to you. So the pharmacist way back then had to be a good chemist also because he or she would have to create good medicines out of raw materials. That is the reason why you can see a lot of different chemicals on the shelf of that old drugstore instead of ready made medicines.

    • @jjohnson2553
      @jjohnson2553 3 роки тому

The "pharmacist" from way back then was a "druggist". The difference being that a druggist will mix/compound the drugs to get the desired end result while the pharmacist just sells the pre made finished product that the drug store has on the shelf.

For this amazing discovery I will subscribe :) It’s lovely that you have kindness towards the toys and children who could have loved them 💜
The Parlodel from 2012 (that is likely the expiration date) can be used for the hormonal imbalance of prolactin in adolescence through adulthood for both sexes.
Depending on the state and exposure to air/water/salt, copper oxidation can be many shades of blue-green (basic explanation). I don’t want to bore everyone with this stuff but since you said you’d would like to see if anyone has info.... I could go on and on hahaha.

A spectacular and an amazing time Capsule indeed Explomo, that Pharmacy family business was historically well preserved. Beside this room, I loved the area in frame 36:58. Must have been beautiful having your breakfast and coffee with a view. You both did a fantastic job keeping a lot of the medicines and chemicals blocked. The beautiful Pharmacy Room isn't environmentally safe, it's a health hazard. I hope that it gets sealed after someone Highly Qualified contains, removes and safety disposes these medicinal products, before any accidents or fatalities occurs. Thank you both for this adventure, an awesome find it was.😁👍💕💕

Remon and Maureno, what a wonderful & unique find! Certainly an integral part of the community in its time. The preserved history is shown how pharmacy changed from being a “chemist” who compounded medicines to make capsules and ointments etc. to the modern pharmacist. It is interesting that some of those bottles are quite old 1900-1910s and were probably reused as stock bottles. I live in a city of 800k and we only have 2 compounding pharmacies. Great job and Merry Christmas 🎄

I started in pharmacy as a technician in 1986 the year I graduated from high school & I did A LOT of Rx compounding & I loved doing it. Up until say mid90's many of today's meds were not made in liquids... hence the compounding. I made custom morphine solutions; custom " "pain cocktails" that contained the old pain med "Darvon" mixed w/ other meds to enhance the relief & the odd thing was patients never knew the doses of the meds mixed in them..they were made for each patient. I mixed "Magic Mouthwash" for mouth sores caused by chemo/radiation burns; I would sit at my kitchen table & compound Progesterone vaginal suppositories to prevent miscarriage etc etc. It was a great experience from 86-94 & I learned SO MUCH. I then went into hospital pharmacy & would custom mix under a flow hood all the needed I.V. 's & the i.v. run nutritionals known as PPN's & TPN's. I mixed the Fentanyl epidurals used for birth & it too was VERY REWARDING work (94-97...& we were SEVERELY UNDERPAID). I left managerial CPhT work in 03' due to the disability of suffering from M.S. I'll tell you pharmacy is NOTHING like it was even 35yrs ago & it's a shame the art of compounding is 90% dead😒. If these men would ever come across compounding powders of Rx Sodium Secobarbital; Sodium Amobarbital or powdered Sodium Pentobarbital I'd pay very good $$ for a bottle of any of the above mentioned compounding powder..so keep looking guys! P.S. Chloroform was used in anesthesia for surgeries along with Other up until the very early 60's. GOOD WORK GUYS! GOD BLESS & STAY SAFE OUT THERE! 😷😷

@@shellwalsh3317 I know all those meds. I was an EMT before that 😆(pre-1986, barely) I still get “Magic Mouthwash” compounded by my trick pharmacist for my autoimmune. It is a lost art form. Back in my day, we used carbon paper. NCR hadn’t been invented yet and we certainly didn’t have computers in the field. We had to remember everything and be able to think on the fly! A different time for sure.

Nunca deja de sorprenderme ver los sitios tan hermosos que visitan, pero a la vez siento tristeza por el abandono y la destrucción por el paso del tiempo. Maureno me encanta como dices "farmacia" 😍

I love your videos. That second part looked like the compounding area of the pharmacy. I was a pharm tech for 30 yrs.
I think these bottles are older. I would love to have some of those bottles. I
Started in '76. These are yrs older.

I've worked in pharmacy over 30 years but in the states so I cannot help with some of the items. Don't speak or read spanish. However as soon as I saw the bottle water sulfurico I knew immediately that's nothing you want to mess with. It's very volatile. One of its original uses was an anesthetic for surgery. It's colorless and odorless and if ingested deadly.

What a fascinating building. I can almost picture the pharmacist working at those tables, making the compounds. There doesn't appear to be any premade prescriptions, judging by the bottles. I did recognize hypericum perforatum! I thought only herbalists used that.
    Great find guys!
Stay safe, and in one piece! ☮️❤️

The house I live in now used to be the post office, General store and hotel office. They also rented out rooms for the loggers and miners 199 years ago. Not unusual at all for many businesses to occupy the same space at the turn of the century with living quarters in either the rear or above
