Carlos... by FAR the best, most entertaining, and most importantly HISTORICALLY ACCURATE reporting of our iron endeavor EVER. The LaLanne's were interested in evangelizing the world regarding fitness / nutrition. They were the king / queen of our industry, unlike the Weider brothers and Betty who cared nothing for fitness ... only for magazine, equipment, supplement, and ticket sales. Kudos to you iron bro !

Thank you. Yes the LaLanne's deserve our recognition. I have great respect for all pioneers, cregardlesd of their errors. We are all human after all

Well, let's not forget that Jack also wanted to make some money with his products. whether you need Protein supplement or simply get it through Sound basic nutrition?

@@adhardino9781 Jack and Elaine were selling protein supplements back then, but it was simple milk / egg powder or soybean powder. I believe in getting our bodybuilding nutrition from groceries. The LaLanne's' were all about healthy eating, not gulping down twelve kinds of protein, pre-workout, post-workout, aminos, creatine and all the crapola that the Weirdo, er I mean, the Weider bros pushed for decades.

Everytime I go to the basement to work out the first thing I see is Jack Lalanne weights. This always makes me think of the TV workouts and that white German Shepherd that was on my black and white screen in the 60's. I used to think Dave Draper got me interested in working out but this great interview makes me realize Jack Lalanne was the first one . Your subscribers comments show that this was one of your best interviews!

Is LaLa going to be a consultant on the new Mark Wahlburg film about Jack LaLanne ? It should be fantastic and will only be better with contributions from Mrs. Lalanne.

I think desicated liver is by far the best supplement. It's so expensive now, there's like $2 liver in a $50 bottle. You are best to grind it up and add some garlic, ginger, turmeric, chilli, herbs, olive oil to make it better, milk and flour for texture. Freeze it and take some out each day. Eat it with something high fibre to block vitamin A absorption, as that can become a problem, toast and beetroot works for me. It also blocks iron, which also can be a problem. Will also block euric acid, which has been a problem for me years ago.The protein in liver seems the best, and is the cheapest, so I like to get as much liver into me as possible, whilst not elevating nutrients, which can be toxic

It is interesting how desicated liver came on the scene in 53 and instantly became popular and would have had some influence on the physiques

I learned a lot. I thought Vince Gironda pioneered these supplements, but I see others came before him.

Some great trivia in this one as well!
I had no idea Reo H Blair worked with Jack before going on his own .
So was Jack's supplements still active when Reo went independent or was it inactive by then ?
I never heard any classic BB mention Jack's supplements in the 60's+ . Only RHB's and eventually Weider supps.

That's terrible, too bad Jack Lalanne couldn't release instant breakfast. Too bad. He was ahead of his time. Sounds like people took alot of their ideas and became wealthy from it. It's too bad.
