July 2006 Thunderstorm, Possibly Severe (Wind) -Brigham UT

- This one had brilliant flashes, a couple of thunderstorm cells side by side. I sometimes pick small shelter areas in town where I can go to video away from lights, traffic, thick trees ETC. This was recorded in a bowery next to a church on the northwest part of town. In fact, you can see this church location on my video that shows POSSIBLE funnel clouds. Cover picture tag at 1:26 (but there are MANY flashes in this one) Enjoy :D (P.S. "A thunderstorm is classified as “severe” when it contains one or more of the following: hail one inch or greater, winds gusting in excess of 50 knots (57.5 mph), or a tornado.")
At 4:20 it's like the sky was violently lit on fire! Awesome footage.
Incredible footage! Those bolts were vivid! I could definitely hear that wind! From what I recall, we didn’t have a very busy summer monsoon season that summer down here in Las Vegas, but there was this one severe thunderstorm event in mid July and what happened was a thunderstorm to our east in Mojave county AZ and another cell to our due north in Lincoln county collided over us causing one heck of a lightning barrage. At one point, I saw bolts to my due east then before you know it, I’m seeing bolts over the north end of the valley! As the storms drew closer to my area, a close bolt hit knocking our power out momentarily followed by a loud explosion! There was several reports of tree and building fires that night!
It's good to get all the footage possible especially when there aren't many storms. Quality of storms wins out over quantity lots of times. Especially if it's severe.
@@joharrison6014 Absolutely! I’ve been documenting storms on video since 2008! I wish I would’ve thought to buy a camcorder a few years earlier but you got to start somewhere. Do you remember that 1999 Salt Lake tornado? I will never forget when that happened!
@@johngligo4049the EF3. Yes that was unusual for Utah. We get plenty of small funnels and stuff, but to have something that powerful actually stay on the ground AND through downtown. It was crazy.

An sever Thunder is winds 58mhp or sounger or 3 quarters of an inche size hail.That was the gust fort.
Where are 2010 and 2012
I will find 2010, but I don't think I had a working videocam in 2012.
