No one brought up the closeness of the shots. In my opinion if someone random murdered them, I believe the shooting would have been from a greater distance. It seems too personal
I think that’s where they brought many times defensive wounds and their body positions and the way the bullets travelled. They didn’t expect to killed hence had to be some one they knew.
How can they take this serious when he testifies the shooter was 5'2 to 5'4. Stop and think just how short that is. Paul was 5'8 which is considered short for a man. This is just too unbelievable. It doesn't matter if the shots could be heard at the house when it was very likely Alex was already there with his son and wife. Buster should have practiced more because he blinked, move nervously when he lied. For a family that was suppose to be so close, he didn't even know where his brother was living.....
I did not take this “expert’s” testimony seriously at all. This man was put on the stand as a tactic by the defense to confuse the jury. This was beyond absurd and I honestly can not believe what I just heard.
Interesting that Buster can immediately remember the content of some phone calls with his family, based on the time of the call, yet others around the same time, an immediate no recollection. 😳
Poor Buster, clearly conflicted, but earnestly trying to testify on his dad's behalf. No one should criticize him unless they walked in his shoes. He lost a brother, mother and really lost a father as well. I pray he finds peace, comfort, and acceptance and newfound Faith in God.
The defense expert who said Maggie’s shooter was 5’2”, got his math wrong when he calculated the height of Alex’ shoulder if he went down on a knee. He said Alex’ shoulder would be 55” high. Wrong. The top of his head would be 55”. You must adjust for his head. If you take away 10” for his head and neck, his shoulder would be 45” high.
@Shaunna L This makes a lot of sense to me. The biggest thing I’ve wondered about through this trial is the use of two different guns. Your theory makes that make sense.
This is what I think too and wonder why this wasn’t more strongly implied unless it was ruled out by some of the bullet trajectory testimony that I missed.

I'd like to know if he got paid to throw his integrity to the wind and if so, how much he thought that was worth. Perhaps he never had any integrity to begin with.
Thr sound expert needed to make a sound test IN the kennels, Because Alec was at the kennels 4 minutes before they got shot not at the house🙄 The Alec being at the house taking a nap version went out the window the minute Paul's video was entered into evidence...
after a projectile passes through a victim does it really continue to go in a precise straight line? i would think passing through any object or person could potentially change the path of the bullet somewhat, even an inch off could make a difference - in any direction really
If you have an entrance and an exit you can figure an angle but the angles their using are basically guesses they are using a movable target and then a single door defect to decide what happened and that’s just not going to give you an accurate set of info. He could have been standing or moving in a lot of ways and so could the shooter so their measurements/angles aren’t going to be accurate/reliable even if it did go straight through and not ricochet off of any bones or anything else.
The man who's testifying as to the position and height of the shooter. Ok. I have a question that the prosecution should have asked. How is it that he's able to be right in line with the window hole and string with the shotgun on his shoulder, if he isn't 5'2? But the blackout shooter is 5'2? I'm calling bull on his entire testimony.

Jim & Dick are horrible…granted they have a defenseless client but you’d think they’d at Least check out Everything Alex told them Before bringing it up to Witnesses In Court & looking like total Rookies, Putting that mildly. Jim ‘Objection, Leading’ Griffin is the worst next to Dick as far as Leading & Hearsay. Obviously Buster knows his Dad is guilty, Nobody that isn’t able to stay in a secure home 24/7 would turn away security IF the assassinations of their immediate family was Being Targeted as Alex insists Publicly. Marian Proctor said A Lot when she said Alex Never Talked About Finding The Killer Of Maggie & Paul. She didn’t buy Jim saying Alex started carrying a gun. Either Jim Griffin is as big of liar as Alex or he’s just super Gullible in believing him. How Dick stood up & said They Were PROUD to be defending him is Beyond Belief…They Know How Many Lives He Ruined, No Doubt They Know He Killed Them…too much evidence to deny that & they were Paul’s lawyers so they shouldn’t be defending the guy who murdered him. Clearly Jim feels like he’s in the close circle of friends of Murdaugh’s the way he wants to make sure he knows more than their family, friends & former law partners about them. It’s hard to watch them flail around grabbing at straws.
A lot of people don't know this unless you're somebody who knows graphs and physics in a graph format, but the defense's expert is actually correct in referring to his laptop for the accurate data. An XY graph without the actual plotted point on there, you can't just point to an area on a graph. I'm on the prosecution side if I had to pick a side but the defense witness is absolutely correct.
If that graph is being used as evidence then the x axis should be labeled properly. If the jury is looking over that evidence they are not going to have access to his laptop to interpret that graph.
This judge is excellent. He does not get sucked into the family’s predisposition to, (Better than anyone else BS). If this jury can’t see how,(Good Old Boys operate,) then my opinion of Southerns is correct.
I have very limited sympathy for Buster. Look into the death a Stephen Smith. Very suspect. Many people point fingers at Buster. @@mercinalady2040 but more to gain with his father dead! If Alex does get off (heaven forbid) he had better watch his back! …..And knowing this family, nothing would surprise me.
The science is, Alex could have crouched at any time not to be seen to shoot the guns. He has hunted and crouched numerous times. The only person to say to the shooter is about 5'4"-5'-6" is ludicrous. Alex has also thrown a pocket knife from his botched attempt of having his drug dealer shoot him. The knife was found in a grassy area across from the mercedes off the road. There is no other suspects that have been found and no reason for his son and wife to be shot to death. The boat case was from 2019, and I think someone would have done something before June 2021. Alex has lied his whole career, stolen millions, faked a death, had a drug issue for years, and the week of the case for the boat and findings of stolen money, his wife and son are murdered on his property that his wife did not want to go to that night, but did because he requested it. Give it up Mr. Engineer of no actual degree of gun specialty, would specialty, or crime scene facts.
I think buster is not there listening to the trial everyday necessarily because he supports his dad but to actually listen to all the evidence and come to a decision himself because he may or may not bring his father... If course he wants to believe his father but I wonder if he may suspect him just a pinch and wants to hear every detail about that night from other sources so he can come to his own conclusions. Bless his heart. He's lost his whole family. Mom and brother forever and his dad will be in prison the rest of his natural life due to other crimes..... Such a tragic lost
Question? Does anyone know where the blue raincoat/tarp came from? I recall the witness said it was blue but never said anything about silver. And if it was raining enough to create puddles, shorts and T shirt no raincoat, at 10pm?? maybe left in Suburban? crime scene was not secured properly. (opinion)... Ck.. out cam video about 8m 50s into?
Damn, that'expert' has been totally exposed by the prosecution's tense cross. It would've come across a bit rude if he had all the answers, but right from the start he was flailing, his previous experience with Griffin, by the end he was just flattened. He said the '11 year old', the 'little youth', and judge didn't sustain Harpooty's objection once!
I know a lot of people criticize him but I feel sorry for the guy. I do, I would never wish to be in his position. Not only losing your family but having your dad suspected of it and him being the only person that you have left in your immediate family. We all think we know our family members and I can imagine being in him put his position and being told that your father did this and just not being able to believe it. If I were him and I didn't believe that he was guilty of it, I would do the same I would support him 100%. I feel for him and I think some of the things that people say or so obnoxious and cruel.
So why do they all think shot in Quail pen happened the night of the murders and who else thinks once Alex shot Paul, he was already on the golf cart or side by side Maggie comes around corner as he's driving away shooting at Maggie he is in sitting position when she falls to ground he lets off brake hitting Maggie's leg with tire then drives over to cabin does quick bleach shower puts on shorts & tee then up to house to get Suburban leaves for his mom's
*3:19:40* Unless the angle of the photo is off, judging by the supposed trajectory of the shots, it doesn't look like Alex would have been standing when he fired. That's a pretty low trajectory, starting out. Looks like the trajectory started low then ended up higher (at the quail cage), which seems to indicate that he was probably kneeling/crouching. *3:22:53* I'm not sure I buy that Alex (or anyone, for that matter) held the gun at hip level. Wouldn't there have been recoil? I've seen people firing guns who held them stupidly like that, or held them improperly, and it blew out of their hands and/or hit them in the face if they weren't holding them tightly. How could he have had sufficient control over the weapon holding it like that, relaxed and loose at his side? Seems like he'd have had a better grip and aim if he had been kneeling, holding the gun the right way. How could the expert witness have not considered this an option? This witness's explanation seems comical to me. Even their model holding the gun like that is hilarious. Just doesn't seem logical. *3:23:52* He even admits he doesn't know what the position of the shooter was! Smh. And he never thought to consider Alex could have been kneeling. *3:24:40* Now we've got two individuals shooting at hip level. Seriously, who shoots a gun like they're holding a guitar? 😂 Nah, the state's expert witness for the gunshot trajectory was exponentially better than this guy. *3:51:45* Pardon me, but did he just say a person who is 5'2" shot Maggie and Paul? 😂🤭 Look, regardless, I didn't hear sufficient evidence to prove Alex couldn't have been the shooter. I heard possibilities, along with this witness even claiming he didn't know the position of the shooter.
All those weird shooting positions…What about a 6’4” person kneeling on one knee while shooting? 🤔 they also had night vision scopes. I also love how the defense can badger the state’s witnesses but when the state does it the defense loses their minds.
So Buster says they parked ON the grass at the back so they could get into the house at his grandparents because if they went to the front they would have to call the sitter to let them in. Previous testimony said Alex rang the sitter to let him in but is claiming through Buster that is why the red dots show he parked around the back. BS Buster no way would people park around the back of the house on the grass when there is a perfectly good driveway and car port. Most people would park around the front, knock on front and if no one answers walk around to the back.
I don't know if I'm totally on board with the conclusions, but I'm not sure why everyone thinks that 5'2" is so ridiculous. The average height for an adult woman in the U.S. is 5'4". The prosecution is assuming that the shooter is a man.
Have anybody check how tall are family of the boat accident. Maybe they got revenge because how you can explain the shot in the face. The mother only was in the wrong place, wrong time.
Average female height is 63.7” It’s a little less than 5’4” Maybe someone’s grandmama, mama, wife, sister, of one of the victims of Alex. How to make a person suffer? Eliminate their loved ones.

Cause he's like his dad... could have been jealous of Paul...he was causing his dad problems even before the boat accident... Stephens murder... Well Alex may be 6'4 he can hold that rifle straight armed by his waist and shot he knows how to shoot a gun...( Give me a brake 🤦) that's how Paul was shot on the right hit his chest come out under left arm bleeding...Alex moves back out the feed room and Paul comes toward his dad and Alex shoots again still holding that rifle down by his waist tilted Up and hits Paul's right shoulder tearing off his head... didn't see Maggie until he turned around and shot real fast turning to see she was probably ( Maggie) screaming.... she could have been in the cabin and came up to Paul 🤷🏼 But Alex was shooting low not with the eye high up ...and it was fast by 9pm he had plenty to do to get to his mom's house n back 🤷🏼if it wasn't Hit men then he did it other than One Cowboy 🤠 friendly sheriff!?!?
I know it don’t look good for mr murdaugh but the look on his face when his son was talking about the hogs and hunting makes it very hard for me to believe he killed his own son. You could see in his smile that he is so proud of him. Sad sad situation
I agree. Mr. Murdaugh was embroiled in addiction which is a viscious disease. He stole a lot of money and lied. Those crimes he did commit. How could he possibly even look at his son Buster if he did kill his brother and mother?
Why did M's caretaker tell that big bold lie? She's trying to cover for the reason Alex came over to his parents house the night of the murders. That attacked the credibility of her moving forward.
I don't like the defense lawyer because he laughed when his college attorney was in trouble in front of the judge for the email and his inadequate comments.
And what’s his deal with only 11 year olds being 5’2” and under!? I’m 5’2” and 43 years old my best friend is 4’11” and she’s almost 50! Paul wasn’t much taller than 5’2-5’4 and he’s an adult man!
Yes! I agree! Did I understand the reason why the Judge brought up the NBA STAR that retweeted the defense attorney’s tweet, saying that he was fined 10 million dollars, etc.. a warning to the defense attorney- don’t do it again, or you’ll be in trouble too? I agree with you! He should be in trouble! IMO: it’s like swaying the audience! He shouldn’t be tweeting, this is a high profile case, not sure if he, himself is aware of this? 🤯 Crazy!
@courttv are you aware Bullhorn Betty is livstreaming your content on a daily basis breaking Copyright laws?? She is leaving the house so you can make her money whilst she is out!!
I am resigned we will never know the truth until decades later. If is Buster, you can understand why a father, especially one who is a colossal failure would want to save his son. Alec's life is over.
If Alex is 76 inches tall and kneeling, his shoulder is not 51” off the ground. Thats where the top of his head would be. His shoulder (being 64” off the ground measured standing though I think the perpective is off in the photo) Would be 64-25 = 39”. Hip level of a 5’2” (62”) person is about 31” so let’s “split the difference” is shoulder 35” off the ground… math friends
The "expert" said that 76 inch Alec's hip would be 46 inches off the ground. I would think it would be about half his height at about 38 inches. I notice you are using half height for hip level, too, for a 5'2" person..... the expert is way off.
*6:18:44* Ooooh, the cross-exam. This ought to be good. *6:20:15* Hold up. ✋The defense retained the witness in September of 2022? Isn't that kind of late in the game? I mean, this was over a year after Maggie's and Paul's deaths. Then he goes on to say he has about 50 hours' worth of work in this case. What, that's about six or so days' worth of work, if you're going by 8:00 to 5:00. And he lists off a ton of things he supposedly did, making trips, "studying documents forever", etc. I have no clue of the hours the witness puts in on a daily basis per case but, this seems incredibly low for a case of this magnitude. Something doesn't add up. Or am I tripping?
@shaunnal2560 apparently it's his retirement fund whatever they call it in the States, I think his 401(k). Which I guess the judge could rule is actually his money. Considering all the money he stole, I think that would be the only thing he could use that is rightfully his. But then, I don't know. Crazy. I'm wondering now if this is a hung jury what are they going to do are they going to retry?
*7:09:30* I think it's suspicious that he supposedly found the missing pellet right there in the window over a year after their murders. Unless investigators were blind or dropped the ball that badly, how could they have missed a pellet in a window? And how do we know this guy even found the missing pellet? Why no pictures? Or did I miss them showing the pellet he said he found? *7:25:05* *Prosecution in regards to the 5'2" model:* "And we'll not worry about the 5'2" eleven year old." 💀
The Defense is a whole a** JOKE they really tried making Paul the killer. Also Buster knew the WHOLE time nobody can tell me different look at him a week or so back when they are talking about Pauls autopsy. HES SMIRKING.
This expert was credible. How could someone as tall as Alex be the shooter? The cross exam was awful. I know Alex was bad - ripping people off, but I am still hoping he didn't murder his wife and son. I think people want to pin this murder on him so bad....but this expert used scientific facts.
i was neutral on this until i started watching the trial for a couple of days... while i didn't want it to be true, for me the evidence heavily leans to his guilt. Trial is not over yet though.
Well, I guess guys that are 6’3” or whatever can’t shoot anything. Deers and boars are usually on the ground. Birds are in the air. This doesn’t stop tall guys from shooting things. Sometimes a shooter crouches, or shoots from the hip. That’s ridiculous that he can’t be the shooter.

How could Buster not know about the financial problems until Sept. when he was working at the law firm? His brothers friend knew.
He’s lying
Buster is just like his father a liar, IMO how could he not know his dad's bday???? he is an adult now he should know this IMO
Cause he’s a fkn liar
@@vee7133i was gonna say that! He doesn't know his dad's bday...
Buster is a fraud just like his daddy. Apple didn’t fall far from the tree.
No one brought up the closeness of the shots. In my opinion if someone random murdered them, I believe the shooting would have been from a greater distance. It seems too personal
You're right. I had that thought also
This was all well planned out. Including where all the bloody clothes, shoes, and weapons went.
The photo he showed is way too close almost beyond where the body is. Those shots were probably all old.
@@lyndaczika6327 Remember, Alex told his sister in law that he thought “whoever did this had thought about it for a very long time.” Yes indeed.
Or his father's birth date!
Plenty of Mexicans are that short. Mexicans did it. They were either hired or of the cartel.
I did not take this “expert’s” testimony seriously at all. This man was put on the stand as a tactic by the defense to confuse the jury. This was beyond absurd and I honestly can not believe what I just heard.
I know. Very few men are 5’2” to 5’4”. A guess the killer is a woman.
@@normagrimstad8869 How dare you! That's mysogynistic!! It was clearly a male tortoise standing on a stepladder!
Who doesn't know their father's birthday? Really?
Interesting that Buster can immediately remember the content of some phone calls with his family, based on the time of the call, yet others around the same time, an immediate no recollection. 😳
Like this dad!!!! I don’t remember. Alex says that a lot in the interviews!!
Right
Poor Buster, clearly conflicted, but earnestly trying to testify on his dad's behalf. No one should criticize him unless they walked in his shoes. He lost a brother, mother and really lost a father as well. I pray he finds peace, comfort, and acceptance and newfound Faith in God.
He probably should leave South Carolina
The defense expert who said Maggie’s shooter was 5’2”, got his math wrong when he calculated the height of Alex’ shoulder if he went down on a knee. He said Alex’ shoulder would be 55” high. Wrong. The top of his head would be 55”. You must adjust for his head. If you take away 10” for his head and neck, his shoulder would be 45” high.
@Shaunna L This makes a lot of sense to me. The biggest thing I’ve wondered about through this trial is the use of two different guns. Your theory makes that make sense.
I also believe the prosecution hates the Murdaugh's privilege.
Short ppl getting blamed for this murder.?? der..dumb
Ok - explain how a 6'4 man can take all these shots from that low angle. If Alex didn't do this (I hope he didn't) they better find who DID do it.
He was on one/both knees
So he was standing further back?
Since watching Poot I no longer need to take my Melatonin 😵

ALEX IS SITTING DOWN, SHOOTING FROM THE ATV OR GOLF CART.
This is what I think too and wonder why this wasn’t more strongly implied unless it was ruled out by some of the bullet trajectory testimony that I missed.
Wonder why this hasn’t been brought up by the State!?
Buster didn't know his dad's birthday.

Judge: Hey, don't break my TV, you blithering idiot!
.......
3:25:18 Expert: Here's a picture of two possible shooters, each 5 foot 2 inches tall, shooting at Maggie
Jury: But Maggie's behind them both! What's the bloody point showing us this impossible nonsense imagined scenario??!
Expert: I'm an engineer, I am; i'm not paid to think. They asked me for 2 shooters, so that's what i gave them.
🤣🤣🤣
Hours later and I'm still laughing at your words 😄
Not 1 tear from buster
And again the defense is totally unorganized
Buster must be really nervous because I though he was going to break the microphone swinging it back and forth
The defense witness gave testimony he wasn't qualified to give, and said many things that were either guesses, or simply weren't truthful. I'd like to know if he got paid to throw his integrity to the wind and if so, how much he thought that was worth. Perhaps he never had any integrity to begin with.
Thr sound expert needed to make a sound test IN the kennels, Because Alec was at the kennels 4 minutes before they got shot not at the house🙄
The Alec being at the house taking a nap version went out the window the minute Paul's video was entered into evidence...
Who takes a nap at 8pm when your bedtime is (apparently) around 11pm?
If Alex is not the shooter. He knows who THEY are.
At 5’2 height of shot, coulda been a roving band of rifle-toting leprechauns
@@air-conditionedgypsy8863 well it wasn't me- I have an alibi! (I'm 5ft 2)
Alex said he thought he heard "them" pull up, but he never heard those loud gunshots. Did this acoustic guy tell how loud a vehicle is to either gun?🙄
after a projectile passes through a victim does it really continue to go in a precise straight line? i would think passing through any object or person could potentially change the path of the bullet somewhat, even an inch off could make a difference - in any direction really
It still goes in a straight line. Doesn’t matter if it drops an inch or a yard. A straight line is a straight line.
Shooter was 5'2 - 5'4? 🤔Only ones fitting that description are Bubba and Cash when they are standing upright. Seriously!

They clearly did it 😉

The thing that blows my mind is that they continuously consider the shooter was standing the whole time. Alex was a hunter... you don't hunt your prey always standing. What about shooting from the knee or prone? Come on now. What if the shooter stumbled and had accidental discharge? This defense is getting paid A LOT of money for this sad show. Maybe looking forward to appeal based upon ineffective counsel? Craziness. So many expensive experts and nothing relatively evidential.
Very good point 👌
I am so confused at 3:26:44 where he shows possible positions of the shooter. How does a body end up on the ground either behind where the shooter is pointing or where the shooter is standing?

I can’t believe how Unimpressive the Defense team is. I kept hearing what a Dream Team they are & they are more like an 8th Grade B Debate Squad.
@@BjBeam I agree.
Why does the defense team think it’s funny that the judge is calling them out for tweeting?
I would think buster is wanting to stay on the inheritance list.
This judge is excellent. He does not get sucked into the family’s predisposition to, (Better than anyone else BS). If this jury can’t see how,(Good Old Boys operate,) then my opinion of Southerns is correct.
As I watch this again, I see how childish Alex really is, and realize Buster was the mature adult in their relationship! 🤨😥 Shame ‼️
Or the shooter was a tall lawyer, knowing that he needed to appear ‘not his own height’ when shooting his wife and son.
Buster is really batting hard for his dad...sad to see especially if he murdered his mother and brother.
I have very limited sympathy for Buster. Look into the death a Stephen Smith. Very suspect. Many people point fingers at Buster. I also believe Buster did give his ID to his brother, Paul, allowing him to purchase alcohol underage and drive the boat, whilst under the influence, that killed Mallory Beach. 😢😢 Rest in Peace Mallory and Stephen. 🥰🥰
Buster has a lot to gain financially with his father out of jail.

I think he feels, "well..... could he have???"
Please … not Jim again❗️❗️❗️
After the prosecutor finished with the engineer ,his demeanor was destroyed in real time
So why do they all think shot in Quail pen happened the night of the murders and who else thinks once Alex shot Paul, he was already on the golf cart or side by side Maggie comes around corner as he's driving away shooting at Maggie he is in sitting position when she falls to ground he lets off brake hitting Maggie's leg with tire then drives over to cabin does quick bleach shower puts on shorts & tee then up to house to get Suburban leaves for his mom's
The bruise was on back of her leg, no signs of being hit by cart, it was suggested she backed into as Alex was coming at her
I forgot the cabin! Yes, or washed off naked with the hose by the kennels. His bloody clothes went with guns, to Almeda.
Nah, the state's expert witness for the gunshot trajectory was exponentially better than this guy.
*3:51:45* Pardon me, but did he just say a person who is 5'2" shot Maggie and Paul? 😂🤭
Look, regardless, I didn't hear sufficient evidence to prove Alex couldn't have been the shooter. I heard possibilities, along with this witness even claiming he didn't know the position of the shooter.

So Buster says they parked ON the grass at the back so they could get into the house at his grandparents because if they went to the front they would have to call the sitter to let them in. Previous testimony said Alex rang the sitter to let him in but is claiming through Buster that is why the red dots show he parked around the back. I don't know if I'm totally on board with the conclusions, but I'm not sure why everyone thinks that 5'2" is so ridiculous. The average height for an adult woman in the U.S. is 5'4". The prosecution is assuming that the shooter is a man.

Well Alex may be 6'4 he can hold that rifle straight armed by his waist and shot he knows how to shoot a gun...( Give me a brake 🤦) that's how Paul was shot on the right hit his chest come out under left arm bleeding...Alex moves back out the feed room and Paul comes toward his dad and Alex shoots again still holding that rifle down by his waist tilted Up and hits Paul's right shoulder tearing off his head... didn't see Maggie until he turned around and shot real fast turning to see she was probably ( Maggie) screaming.... she could have been in the cabin and came up to Paul 🤷🏼

I agree.

I am resigned we will never know the truth until decades later. If is Buster, you can understand why a father, especially one who is a colossal failure would want to save his son. Alec's life is over.
I'm so tried of watching these commentators and their opinions. Guilty ‼️
I think BM is just doing this for his own benefit. The defense is 🗑️ and didn't change my mind AT ALL
*6:18:44* Ooooh, the cross-exam.
This expert witness is unprepared. He should have known he would be grilled. Engineers are usually precise. Hope he still gets paid.
Buster’s testimony was so rehearsed…. 😂
None of my business but I'm curious does anybody know how he's paying for his defense?

This expert was credible. How could someone as tall as Alex be the shooter? The cross exam was awful. I know Alex was bad - ripping people off, but I am still hoping he didn't murder his wife and son. I think people want to pin this murder on him so bad....but this expert used scientific facts.
He’s guilty as heck…could’ve been on his knees
i was neutral on this until i started watching the trial for a couple of days... while i didn't want it to be true, for me the evidence heavily leans to his guilt.
