the blacks didn't dry as dark as I wanted. First time painting with oils, I would do some things differently if I did this painting again but the oil paints were pretty dope. just a bit thicc and unruly

When I was in high school (a year or 25 ago), I used to torment my art teacher by somehow working some dark theme into every assignment, just because I knew it unnerved her. Our last assignment of the year was to draw or paint our version of Utopia. Then she looked at me and said, "Okay, Tim. Let's see you turn this into something morbid!". Challenge accepted. So I drew a city, complete with a highway sign that read, " Utopia: A Nice Place To Live". And then proceeded to draw buildings on fire, planes dropping bombs, a mushroom cloud in the background, and bodies impaled on spikes, among other emblems of serenity. In the end, I put a lot of work into it and it was actually pretty decent. As much as it pained my art teacher, she gave me an A. After all, I had done exactly what she asked.
Tim G I would love to see this art work!!🤣
Sadly, that and all my other high school masterpieces seem to have vanished into the ether sometime over the years, probably during my last move.
I really enjoy your paintings though, in all seriousness. I can draw a little (the dragon in my thumbnail pic is mine), but I can't paint to save my life, so I'm a great admirer of those who can. Looking forward to your next creation :-)
Totally me😂
@daweadlX DAMN
City might be on fire, but the power's still on. Thank goodness for both Firefighters and Linesmen.
...and here we have a happy little skyscraper that's on fire... and maybe it needs some friends.
That's what I was thinking
The fire surely was a "happy accident", i see... =D
this comment made me laugh out loud and smile a lot. Thanks for that.
Bob Ross is the only one who is allowed to talk while painting and still have the soothing effect in my books :')
You joke, but every time I've seen that man paint a man-made object the story he comes up with is DARK. "And here's a nice little cabin, maybe hunting cabin. And maybe it's looking a little run down. Perhaps the owner one day was checking his traps and drowned in the lake over here." And over here is a happy little tree...
Art Teachers: Never start with black.
Taylor: FUUUCK THAT DUDE
I've always started with black my art teacher cringed when I did but still liked it in the end
Yo that is some sweet art, but that canvas scratching sound is the real masterpiece, thanks for the tingles
Orgasmic
brah dat wind at 35:00 with the paint sounds, is excellent.
Thx for posting. Love your painting ASMR. And while I love your voice, I especially enjoy your palette knife sounds. I had just about worn out your other palette knife video. I listen to your ASMR videos as background while I write.
I was watching some Bob Ross videos (including the adorable Peapod pocket squirrel one, which made me tear up upon realizing it was from the last ever show before Bob passed away), when I decided to search for ASMR knife painting videos. This video was the first I saw and I enjoyed the sounds immensely. Thank you!
Never knew drawing a disaster would be so soothing.
Thanks, these are exactly the sounds I've been searching for.
The painting is absolutely gorgeous! Also, the sounds were perfect! It was very relaxing hearing and watching you paint it.
Beautiful! Amazing how the lights at the end make such a big difference!
I like your commentary, it's always so light hearted and funny!
This is actually an amazing way to study how other people do landscapes! (much like bob ross) This is fantastic work, thanks for teaching me something new!
Your profile pic looks like the nazi flag (no offense)
I had to do a double take at your pfp
i love this type of art!
That is absolutely badass! I love the colors so much!!
That drawing came out beautiful. It would make a great Death Metal album cover
not enough gore^^ but I see where you're coming from
Rakkhot I like the lack of gore. It leaves more to the imagination
@@MosheAlvarez I was trying to say that for a death metal album there isn't enough gore in the picture. I wouldn't even know how you could put gore in a painting that is of something so far away that even in RL you probably wouldn't see any gore if there was any.
I just recently came across your videos, and you have become my new favorite. Your paintings are quite amazing, and your voice is very relaxing. Thanks for the great videos, and looking forward to the next one.
Very relaxing - thank you for creating this video.
I can watch you pallete knife paint for hours! Thanks,
Love the painting, the ASMR sounds and the cat and frogs comments. Well done and thanks.
I feels like this painting means something new after the California fires.
I love your work! Good Job!
Love your painting videos, so relaxing.
Oh man, the rain made me stop what I was doing and shiver. Very nice.
I really love this painting! It's so pretty and looks realistic too. I also love to paint and might try something like this too
Your painting videos are great, especially your speaking ones. Bonus rainstorm ftw.
this is soooo relaxing and i’m trying to keep my eyes open to see the result.
Looks so badass. That city reminds me of the ending scene in the return of Godzilla. Thicc & unruly just like Goji.
Western Esper 🤣🤣
i actually enjoyed the frogs and kitty sounds - made it real. great job. thanks for sharing
Now this is different and you knew exactly where u were going with this one fricking awesome
I keep being like "My body hurts, I'm too sedentary, I should do some yoga" but every time I try to go to the search bar I just... Can't leave this video. It's like it's so soothing that I'm just stuck here. I guess I live here now.
I just became a subscriber, to your channel. You are without a doubt the best asmr person on the entire planet!!!! Much love and many thanks for all that you do 🌺🌷⚘
Thank you for your paintings . It made my day.
Wow, that’s crazy cool! You’re really talented.
We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents.
Absolutely fantastic. Batman: The Animated Series vibes. Also love that your nail polish is on theme.
Another great video. Thank you so much for providing this content. I love your painting videos, especially those using a palette knife. This one though... once the rain starts it's absolutely incredible. You can't dub in or fake a sound like that. It's like I was sitting there watching the rain. :) (a good pair of headphones helps here)
Very good Taylor. Your painting sounds and your soft voice help me get to sleep. It scrapes the stress (like plaque) off my brain. Bob would be proud. I was recording Bob in the 80's from PBS channel using the old first gen VHS recorders for the same purpose, (Tingles) before you were born. Keep up the good work! You are both a good painter AND a ASMR sound artist.
This videos thumbnail sums up 2020 *perfectly*
Pretty bad ass painting and the lights give it that pop
You are so talented and I enjoy watching these videos from you!
aleesang thank you!! I’m so happy you watch!😄💗
You were very good, congratulations, I love this job 🌸💞
Great colour scheme, and the texture on canvas is exquisite. J'aime cela!
Missed your calming voice but always happy to see someone use their talent. I couldn't do that in a week! Ha
I would totally buy that if I could. Looks awesome
This is amazing
Crossovers like this are a good way to promote technique practice.
Bravo..Awesome Painting..Well Done
Simply amazing work, you must sell these to people if you don't already because they are quite impressive. Id buy a couple for sure. Great video all around
That's so kool looking looks so real
Beautiful I would buy it!
According to legend, she stills eats food off that plate.
how about no
where did u get that from lol
nah her cat does
Watching this in the year of covid, chaz/chop, epic west coast wildfires and "mostly peaceful protests "
Your painting seems very relevant for this year
No one mentioning that awesome rainstorm at the end?! Okay. Lol
You are good at art for what I see. Shame I didn't have a friend like this on High School to get help on my drawings.
You're like my two young daughters. They can make so much out of what other people would see is nothing. I can't even draw a Stickman. I am just so bewildered by people like yourself and my daughters who can make such beauty with such simplicity.
I enjoy seeing the pallet while you're getting the paint. Normally I don't see it much in your videos
Masterpiece
This reminds me of the city mural on the cover of Macintosh Plus’s Floral Shoppe. I think this work is cooler though, keep doing the good stuff 👏
Stunning paintings. Bob Ross would be proud of you!
Wow let me buy this?!? Pllleaassseeee. This is awesome!
Palette knife sounds ❤
I am NO artist, but i've seen enough Bob Ross episodes to know if you wanted a black canvas, you should've started with black jesso and let it dry. This would allow other colors to show up on top of it. Also looks like you're using a dry canvas-- Bob always started with a liquid clear or liquid white primed canvas. He would talk about the struggles of using a dry canvas-- now i know what he meant! I dig the ASMR aspect though.
Amazing!
Love this video you rock :)
This amazing
소리도 좋고 그림도 좋네요 수고하셨습니다
Gorgeous peace of art :) keep it up // Kind Regards // Grias
I love your art
Beautiful! :)
Just slapping sht together with some poor, wonky, stressed af brush periodically suspended mid-air so you can *think,* using a dinner plate as your palette, and to somehow still end up with a stunner,, bish, you're my hero 👏
That's pretty good :)
*Bob Ross is forbidden sister*
Beautiful picture of Sydney Australia though
Art Deco city Architecture I get it
Please tell me there's somewhere we can buy your paintings. I just got a new house and my office needs some art girl!
Morgan Mendenall hopefully one day! thank you for liking them enough to want one in your home. & congratulations on the new house!😁😁
I agree. This is an awesome piece of art suitable for any Cyberpunk / dystopia fan.
Awesome
LOVE the noise of the rain. Adds to the overall creation!!!!!
Gorgeous picture again :) greetings from Hungary :*
Reverse Bob Ross. Very cool painting.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼 amazing work
Kevin Ferrari thank you!😁
Taylor ASMR oh my pleasure you make it look so easy, and that’s a sign of true talent 😊
47:08 Drying choclate chip scratches - sounds good!
Troma Entertainment!!! nice painting
city scapes are high dollar girl, $150 and up. the more perfect your painting is, the cheaper the price. oil painting is mostly impressionism, and this impressed me. i'd pay $300 for that painting, which took an hour. hope you keep it up cause you are bad ass....
Is Masterpiece.....is..amazing. ..Is great,,,,
Happy building, happy little boys and girls, Happy lived together.
WHAT A WONDERFUL ARTIST! 🤓👍👌🖌🎨🌆🎃💋
Honestly pretty accurate now that I have seen the real thing.
thats purdy
40:31 thanks for the close-up: only here I started to get the 3D-effect of the details in the buildings, and that the scratches at the ground-level actually delineated the ground, making the rest of the buildings have a reflection on the ground, as if the ground was covered in liquid. And a little later my heart broke when you closed that fiery gap. - I so wished you had let that alleyway into the fire open, as a kind of “Fluchtpunkt” (- what’s the english word for the point in a painting where all the perspectives are leading to in the distance?) - Also: thinking how Australia burned this year, while this painting is from 2018 and actually has rain-sounds in the background gave me an eerie feeling...
Man i want that painting
🎶Let's watch this city burn
From the sky lies the top the world🎶
So this is Taylor Bob Ross asmr... i like it
Hey what colour paints did you use? Would love to try this!!
muito lindo!
What do you do with the paintings. If you ever feel like you want to do something with them I have a great idea
you are talented
Taylor, what do you do with the paintings after you finish them? Are they donated somewhere?
I love this kind of sounds so much, your paintings, your hands and the cute gurgling of your stomach
I'm sure someone already offered this tip but in case no one has.... oil paintings do dry a lot slower than acrylics. It can take few days to dry which is why oil paints are fantastic for blending your colors on the canvas. There's a nice little medium you can mix with your oil paints to speed up the drying time and allow you to come back and add more layers and glazing to your painting. It takes about a day to dry up your oil paint and not have the colors blend and muck up and you get some ugly brown and grey combinations. It also helps to thin out your paint too and not make the oil paints so thick when you are trying to work with thinner paint. I use Winsor and Newtons Liquin: www.winsornewton.com/na/shop/oils-mediums-varnishes-and-solvents/oil-colour/mediums/liquin-original-2-53-us-fl-oz-75ml-bottle-3221751 You don't need a whole lot. If you use a lot your oil paints are so thin and the more you try to paint on the more you take off. So for a painting session I generally pour out a dollop the size of a quarter and mix just a bit to a little bit of the oil paint. If I need it to be more thinner then I mix a bit more. In a three hour painting session I don't usually end up using it all. So a little goes a long way. If I haven't finished my painting and come back to it another day I also lay a thin layer of the Liquin over what I've painted. It makes the new paint you're layering on top to go on smoother. I'm by NO MEANS ANY EXPERT, I'm a novice and I've picked up a few things along the way and on and off again take painting classes at an art center that's open to public for classes. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoy your painting ASMR videos. The sounds of painting are so soothing and I like to see what you create. You dive in and create, and I lack that in me. I'm always over thinking and instead of just painting I spend more time planning out what I want to paint and hence, don't do enough painting. Okay, enough of my "book length" comment. Happy painting!
When you didn't beat the devil out of it
Unfortunately appropriate for 2020.
UA-cam recommended this to me and I'm simultaneously impressed and depressed.
mind=fucked
