At 32:18 if you watch closely, you can see a zombie head move behind the cliff. Due to the perspective of the game they can hide like that. Most people use the flat mode to check for zombies and hidden routes into their base.
Hey Pravus! I just stumbled by your channel - this video to be exact. I really like your commentary and I think I'll stay for a while and listen ;) Also - big fan of you playing "They are billions!" - a game of which I have played a lot of my self and I always struggled with this level. Very awesome start! Keep up the good work!
You're right about the pacing of other channels that tackle this game, and I love the you're not following suit with the jump cuts in your own They Are Billions series. Looking forward to seeing more of this for sure!
a few tips, a 10 wood spot will always be within 1 tesla tower of starting, you want it as soon as you can afford it decrepit builds that arent radars should be sold for a bonus gold stack, radars should be powered, viewed, and then sold. lastly, its good to spread out your archers when moving them, the more things you have in a pile, the more noise they make, and noise is semi exponential if memory serves
Don't worry so much about leaving room in a housing area for later buildings - at least when it comes to tents. Tents are so cheap that they pay for themselves in a few minutes. It's best to just lay them down as fast as possible and delete them when you need the space.
Pravus! You should be having your starting troops push out slowly while you build your economy to get earlier veterans! Either way loving this already!
just wanna kinda warn people that if you play TaB, i would recommend this video as an introduction to the game, but don't take it as an example of how to play -there's a lot of misinformation and too many mistakes to apply to your own play-through. Also great map generation RNG there! :) I do enjoy the vid ^^
I see the name "Pravus Gaming" and like "hm... I seen this name before". Then when I click into the video and heard your solemn voice. Oh my lord and savior please forgive me for my sin.
Post a poll to see how many people care about your commentary, cause personally I'm fine with a little bit of silence here and there as long as you're still doing actions.
I forget.... do the zombies move slower on this map? They ought to. Maps like these should have more features like zombies being unfrozen as you expand they attack and etc.
@@catfacecat. ah, never tested it, but it kinda made sense to me. in old games the function keys often were used to torn off opacity on different render layers.
He didn't anticipate not having enough of an army to deal with a wave coming from the east, and deleted his tower. Later he built a (tesla) tower to defend against a wave from the east because he didn't have enough of an army. :^)
Pravus, if you are going to make a longer series out of this you might want to look into the modding scene for the game. There are a lot of good mods already that are a bit more friendly to your stile of doing UA-cam. Even if some are similar to the base game they do start you off in interesting positions and interesting scenarios. Also 42:28 if that village of the damned was just a bit closer the soldiers in the tower could have activated it. I advise you to never ever put soldiers in towers this early on when you don't know what might hear them. Same goes for snipers but those can handle a little more. Rangers are also not as one might believe truly silent they do make noise, just not a lot. They can still attract zombies from quite a distance though, if you have enough of them shooting while standing close to each other that is. Like you did at the end of the video.
Take a shot every time a tent is built. As well as take a shot every time he talks of or about tents. ( I am not responsible for anyone who actually does this. ) Also.. You should pay more attention to what you tell your units. Your rangers took damage they did not have to and you lost some that you did not need to. Several times you basically told your units to go to the zombies say hi and try to have a cup of tea with them.
damn this starting at the map is pretty good normally u have to reroll an incredibly amount of time to get such an awesome start at the map also... wouldnt it be easier to kite the z around with one archer and let the rest shoot the zombies while 1 is just luring them in circles?
Hey I’m Alex a 800% no pause player. Try this as an early game build order as you made a few inefficiency choices. 1. Food Always first. (Notice how your food supply is cap is 4 tents worth regardless of how much gold you grab) 2. Max tents =3-0 food supply. Now due to RnG, what order you expand, build power mills as needed will change, or if any drops like wood, stone, or gold exist that simply expedites this. 3. 25 tents and 1 sawmill. (Low tech huts and expansions as needed) 4. 2nd sawmill. 5. 5 more tents, total of 30. 6. Quarry.(the 20 stone you need for Soldier center takes time) 7. Wood workshop. 8. Soldier center. 9. Build first farm and Max more tents. 10. Warehouse. (Warehouse BEFORE market) 11. Drop your market at 300 colonists as supposed to the 200 rush. Goals: 200 colonists by day 10 (I’ve done it in 6 with a tiny rng help). You want 15 rangers by day 12. Farm tech, cottages, Traps researches by day 10. Army: 25/20/70. 25 rangers. 20 soldiers. 70 snipers. IN ORDER. Engineering units rest of the way till end game.

I haven't played this game but I have seen a lot of videos on it and should I be concerned about the amount of tents in close proximity to each other that could easily turn into a massive cluster of spawners if even a single zombie sneezed?
@@stylesrj I don't see how walls would help to prevent the breach of zombies that can ignore walls? Unless you mean by reducing the speed of outbreak via regular tent-spawned zombie? But then you're wasting resources, time and efficiency for the sake of a what-if scenario that would likely be a game-over anyway - especially since those extra resources/population could be used to make more troops to prevent zombies getting through in the first place.
@@Neion8 As in, you can't just make one layer of wall. The Harpy can jump over 1-tile walls. That fact alone would scare me into double-walling... or triple walling in case I'm wrong and they can jump over 2-tiles...
So walls alone do nothing. Pro players like me in fact ignore building any walls till about the 2nd wave, and the walls are absolutely minimal. The only answer against a harpy is firepower. And you can have 20 layers of walls thick and a harpy will just float over them. As to the tents. Don’t let a single zombie through is the only answer. You want tents tight and clustered to maximize economy so you can afford the firepower to win.
You said this episode might be boring. But I think it's pretty in tents.
