We ride the Cass Scenic Railroad on their round trip to Bald Knob and Back through the rain and the fog. We climb grades, cross bridges, and navigate a switchback in order to get to the peak. Including a 13% grade finale. Thank you to the train and locomotive crews working that day for providing an amazing experience.
I recomend watching in the highest quality no matter what, with a good pair of speakers or headphones.
Filmed entirely using a Blackmagic Cinema 4k, Rokinon Cine 85mm, Rokinon Cine 50mm, Rokinon Cine 35mm, Rokinon Cine 18mm, Samsung T5, and Rode Shotgun Mic.
Contact me by email or on Discord (@Bennyboi 5800) if you would like to know the origins of any footage shown in the video. Enjoy!

I spent my 14th birthday there in 2002. There is NOTHING like the sound of a Shay thundering up this beautiful West Virginia mountains! And that whistle echoing out across the hollers and over the hill tops? Heaven!

Really wish I could see Cass. The closest I’ve got is the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine.

The Shays on the shop deadline are 7 (Meadow River Lumber No.7) and 10 (Brimstone Railroad 36), 7 doesn’t have its smokebox and 10 doesn’t have its Cab and Coal bunker but the third Shay on the flatbed, which is that?
