They need to go back and work out why they need a foundation in the first place. The projects that have one should have it for looking after the stuff like ci/cd, git repos etc that developers need and fundraising for it. If the foundations sole purpose is to "blah blah blah something community" its just people that can't/don't do any useful work that want power to do things like trawl twitter to find CoC breaking wrongthink.
Looks like they are doing a red hat.
1, adopt positive discrimination policies
2, focus on them over the purpose of the organisation
3, implement them in potentiallly illegal ways
4, create a wishlist of what you would like to do with unlimited funds
5, take steps to implement the wishlist ignoring everything else due to being so distracted over your dei policies
6, get called out about it
7, rather than trying to fix it, complain that people are being unkind and not paying you enough while failing to take any actions that effectively adress the problem.
Have i missed any steps from the playbook?

I have enjoyed the Gnome desktop, and it's variants for years Thankfully the GNU/Linux platform is versatile, giving the end user many choices. The Gnome Foundation must realize when you go woke - you go broke. Politics, whether liberal or conservative, have little value and are a distraction for people in your business. Producing a valuable product to remain in business does matter - while aggressively pursuing liberal progressive DEI policies get you no where - except for maybe the poor house.
That is so correct go woke, go broke.

I honestly don't know how you could have something as valuable as GNOME-3 or NTP or X11, and fail to net hundreds of millions to billions of dollars
Skill issued people would be making that kind of money with these projects, even with open source licensing

Gnome breaks extension software on every release and getting harder and unstable with each release. Its a mess now with 3 and 4 version of the software mixed together. Wayland is coming along but still have to switch between the two to get some software to work correctly.

When it didn't gain traction, you forced them to pump-out a quick financial report.
