I imagine that Tom, yes, must have liked playing a solo song with his bandmates, but for them it must have been a kind of mixed feelings: "ok, we support you, we re glad to see you ok, but it feels weird, having so much Keane stuff that we could play". Plus, also the fact that the people knew the song. But at the same time, well, it s not like Tom imposed that on them I guess. And he needed to to do his solo stuff outside of Keane, not only because he felt the need to do something different, but also for phsycological reasons: he had to force himself to learn to write, search for musicians, explore a side of him that he could not do with Keane. And for Tim it must have been hard cause, like, "why cant you do it while you do the Keane stuff, like Jesse and I do with Mt. Desolation?". But they have different approaches, cause Tom also needed time to really take rehab seriously. But the thing is, they got together again, had differences, then the lockdown, and now, 2024, performing at their peak, feeling great with each other, not forcing things, and with life in general much better for the 4 of them.
