I have uploaded a new directory to mys ite with images and videos, but when I go to the URL I get a 403 error and cannot see those files in the browser, I tried all the above but no luck, how can I fix that so I can send the link to someone and they can download those file from that URL? Thanks
Hey there! A 403 error means that the server is denying access to the files you are trying to access. This can be caused by various reasons, such as incorrect file permissions, server configuration issues, or even security settings. To fix the 403 error and make the files accessible, you can try the following steps: - Make sure that the files and directories you uploaded have the correct permissions. They should have read permissions for the user, group, and public. - Check if the server configuration is blocking access to the files. If you are using a web server like Apache, make sure that the *AllowOverride* directive is set to *All* in the server configuration file. - If you have a .htaccess file in the directory, make sure that it is not blocking access to the files. Try temporarily removing the .htaccess file to see if it resolves the issue. We hope it helps, but if you have any other questions, please write them here or send us an email at support@hostinger.com 🙏🏻

I'm just casually playing some games on my phone, and in the middle of playing said game, google randomly opens and says '403, forbidden'. I'm not sure what's causing this.
Hi there @wilza9958 👋 The "403, Forbidden" error is an HTTP status code which means that accessing the page or resource you were trying to reach is absolutely forbidden for some reason. Your issue could be caused by a number of things, including a bug in the game, an issue with your device's internet connection, or even potentially some form of malware or unwanted software on your device. Here are a few things you can try: Clear your browser data: Sometimes, old cache data or cookies could cause issues like this. Clearing your browser data might help. Update the game: Check if there are any updates available for the game on your app store. If there are, updating could potentially solve your issue. Check your internet connection: If you're using a Wi-Fi connection, try restarting your router. If you're using mobile data, try turning your data off and back on again. Check for unwanted apps: Check your phone for any apps you don't recognize or remember installing. If you find anything suspicious, consider uninstalling it. Contact the game's support: If none of the above steps work, the issue could be with the game itself. Try reaching out to the game's support for help. If all else fails, consider reaching out to Google support or your device's manufacturer for further assistance. I hope these steps help, and that your issue gets resolved soon! 💜
Hello! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Our aim is to offer helpful resources, including videos, to enhance users' web building experience. If you have any specific concerns or suggestions for improvement, feel free to share them with us via email at support@hostinger.com 💜
Hey Steven, there can be several reasons why your files seem to have suddenly disappeared. It is possible someone logged in to File Manager and deleted or moved the files. Or if you gave FTP access to someone, they may have accidentally downloaded the files without leaving a copy. If you find yourself in this situation, you can restore from a backup you have made earlier and see if the files in your public_html folder are back 🙏🏻
Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your game. The "403 Forbidden" error is typically an HTTP status code that means the server understood the request, but it refuses to authorize it. Here are a few general troubleshooting steps that might help: 🚀Clear cache and cookies: This can often resolve issues related to browser or app functionality. 🚀Update your game: Make sure your game is updated to the latest version, as updates often include fixes for common issues. 🚀Check your internet connection: An unstable internet connection could potentially cause issues with game access. If you're using Wi-Fi, try restarting your router or switch to a wired connection if possible. 🚀Reinstall the game: If none of the above solutions work, you may want to consider reinstalling the game. Uninstall the game from your device, restart the device, and then download and install the game again. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it would be best to reach out to the game's support team for further assistance. They'll be most familiar with the game and should be able to provide more specific troubleshooting steps. I hope this helps, and your issue gets resolved soon!

I'm just casually playing some games on my phone, and in the middle of playing said game, google randomly opens and says '403, forbidden'. I'm not sure what's causing this.
Hi there @wilza9958 👋
The "403, Forbidden" error is an HTTP status code which means that accessing the page or resource you were trying to reach is absolutely forbidden for some reason.
Your issue could be caused by a number of things, including a bug in the game, an issue with your device's internet connection, or even potentially some form of malware or unwanted software on your device.
Here are a few things you can try:
Clear your browser data: Sometimes, old cache data or cookies could cause issues like this.
I have cleared my browsing data and deleted apps i didn't recognize and it hasn't happened since, thank you very much!
Tried everything but still not working 😔

why does my public_html folder not have anything in? but yours does.!! very confused please help xxxxx
thank you
Hey Steven, there can be several reasons why your files seem to have suddenly disappeared. It is possible someone logged in to File Manager and deleted or moved the files. Or if you gave FTP access to someone, they may have accidentally downloaded the files without leaving a copy.
If you find yourself in this situation, you can restore from a backup you have made earlier and see if the files in your public_html folder are back 🙏🏻
I have the same problem….any help?
I unfortunately didn’t backup
Very helpful👍👍
Glad you think so! 💜
I still can’t open my game. Like i want to play a game when i start it i can‘t because the error 403 comes
Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your game. The "403 Forbidden" error is typically an HTTP status code that means the server understood the request, but it refuses to authorize it.
Here are a few general troubleshooting steps that might help:
🚀Clear cache and cookies: This can often resolve issues related to browser or app functionality.

@@HostingerAcademy I wasn't able to fix the actual error, but I found a solution anyway.
Somehow the linking of the two pages "Impressum" and "Datenschutz" were blocked. After I renamed the pages (e.g. "Datenschutzerklärung") the page ran fine.
thank you
