    Procedurally generating rain is hard, much harder than it seems on the surface of it. Yes it does end up being a broadband noise source to some degree but there are many subtle nuances to the drops splats and surface bounces as well as the spacial requirements. yeah rain is hard.
    Anyone attempting to do this would, learn plenty from reading Andy Farnell's Designing Sound specifically pages 409-451. Regardless of the software its attempted in and especially if its synthesized only, or "procedural audio" over "procedural sound".

    I've been interested in "synthetic" field recordings ever since I heard Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement (a dark ambient project that relies heavily on it). Nice to see how you'd create it.

    I saw from the other video you did on Phase Plant that you use both Ableton Live and Bitwig Studio. If you had to recommend one or the other, which one would you go for (based on the qualities of the DAW, not the amount of documentation/help out on the web, etc.... which would give Ableton Live the upper hand)?

    Any other synths we could do this with...?? Serum??

    • @prtysh
      @prtysh 3 роки тому

      of course. Any synth. It mostly a lot of EQ which you can add outside of the synth as well

    I only think the pitch of the drops could be modulated a bit.
