- We have an in depth look at a modified 2016 SWM RS 500R. What has been done to make the bike suitable & reliable for West Australian conditions? Then we head for a quick blast in the hills for a first impression ride review. Also catch up with a Perth Hill's local, just out of hibernation.
in case your interested you can make a 12' Wr450f Screens For Bikes windshield fit the front of this ive done so on my te510.
Awesome, thanks Jed Brennan. I will pass on to the owner. Did you find any of the other mods useful for your Husqvarna?
@@WESTOZEXPLORING was interesting to know that the tank side plates and seat will all go over, ive done all those mods and a few more ,the last thing i need to do is suspension, instagram @jed8five theres a few pictures.
12 foot is a bit tall for me, you may even need a permit and special routing to avoid hitting it on underpasses. I’m sure it offers great wind protection tho. 😉

Hello. I have a 2020 swm 500r. Could you tell me where your friend sourced the seat pan, side , and rear fender plastics for the 2010 husky? I'm in the USA. Bobs your uncle
Hi Paul, sorry for delayed response. Here is information from my friend, thinks it will be different to his 2016 model.
The SWM shown on UA-cam is a 2016 model. It is quite different for plastic and seat pan from the new models. Plastic were Acerbis and foam was from seat concept modified. I end up buying a second hand Husky seat, more comfortable.
You probably dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the new movies and series on Instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last couple of weeks :)
@Bruce Finn Yup, have been using Instaflixxer for years myself =)
We wajo bell stu ingles maccheronico ahaha
Is anyone else wondering about those hip gyrations? It’s kinda creepy. Lmao
New pants, just getting groovy!
Fajny motocykl, brak mu tylko szyby rally kit
Do you have one with the rally kit? Would be good to see
On paper the SWM should be a better bike then the DRZ with superior suspension, 6 speed gear box, 50HP and considerably lighter. Why would the owner go back to the DRZ?
Definitely the finish and reliability let the bike down, a few rides weren't finished due to failure. Blowing intake manifold apart, bolts falling out, water and coolant leaks, always something different. For adventure riding where need a reliable bike, drz is well proven and SWM not there yet
@@WESTOZEXPLORING That's a shame. This is exactly what I'm looking for as a light weight adventure bike. My DRZ is bullet proof but suffers from all of the upgrades mentioned. I looked at the KTM500 and 690 but they also suffer from reliability issues as well a being too expensive.

I ride my adventures on a 2007 TE450, the carb model. Only issues I got, is the cooling system, on slower trails it starts to boil pretty quick, even if the fan runs. Besides that, I couldnt ask for anything better to ride on, just love it😊Very curious if the Swm got the same problem?
@@gladeamatoren7106 very interesting as although the SWM is based on the Husky, the finish is not the same standard and let's it down. We had a ride that was moderately muddy, the SWM radiator blocked quickly and was boiling in no time, along with working in tight trails aswell. Other bikes were ok the same day. Can you install a radiator fan?
What’s the service intervals like on these things?? They are not like the ktm etc are they
Hi Andrew, old Husqvarna motor which is higher performance than say a DRZ or KLR, Attilio did err on the side of caution and serviced very regular. Didn't stop overnight adventure rides but serviced frequently. Actually unsure what the recommendation from SWM is
