I remember when this film came out, I was 6 years old at the time, I saw at a DVD copy at a Blockbuster video back when both were still a thing & my parents wouldn’t let me watch it thinking it was inappropriate which I now understand where they were coming from being an adult now but finally they said ok & my mother really liked it too when she saw it realizing it’s not actually a horror story necessarily but really a love story. In my opinion, it’s one of the most underrated superhero movies ever. It‘s faithful to the comic character in terms of his origin story while also exploring deeper questions like how far would you go to save the ones you love but also has prevalent themes of redemption as well as constant allusions to Catholicism/Orthodoxy. Nicholas Cage also gives a very great layered performance with different dimensions to the character. Overall, fantastic film, can’t say enough good about it.
It's said that the West was built on legends, and that legends are a way of understanding things greater than ourselves. Events that defy explanation. Individuals whose lives soar to the heavens or fall to the earth. This is how legends are born
The PERFECT song to listen to when you drive a classic muscle car in a highway at nighttime! I finally found the full song! It is so epic in the movie. Ghost Rider is an awesome anti-hero.

Thanks for standing up for me Seth, I'm sure Ghost Rider would be proud, or as he would put it: " You...innocent 👍", but I think Colin knows what I mean. I don't think it has anything to do with this being a remake by someone other than Johnny Cash, a lot of artists have been able to release cuts/remakes that they have made of other artist's songs as singles on their own albums without legal problems, and yes, sometimes on movie soundtrack albums. I think Robert Vivian's theory is the closest to fact, Spiderbait doesn't own the rights to the song, they most likely borrowed it with Sony's help in order to make their version and for it to appear in the movie, but that was as far as their legal boundaries would allow, they couldn't get clearance to release it on the soundtrack album so that we can own copies of it. It may have been within the law but still feels like a Penance Stare worthy sin. Lol!

@BigTastyTyrone ik. This song gives me much nostalgia. Chillin in the back of my dad's 18 wheeler, listening to this song, watching the movie every now and then. Memories
I grew up watching the Cage Rider movie and seeing people shitting on the transformation scene kinda hurts me. Like, for me watching that when I was just a kid, it was terrifying. Imagine having your skin boil and being set on fire. Plus, losing control of yourself to a spirit and watching him kill people with just a chain whip and a stare that could literally kill you spiritually, that’s honestly a nightmare. Sure, it was odd, but it’s a cult classic for me. Heck, I thought Cage did a really good Johnny Blaze. Blackheart was… meager. Still, in my opinion, one of my favorite Marvel movies that aren’t MCU related.
Ghost rider is one of the first movies I remember watching and it’s always gonna be in my head because it’s just such a fun movie, the action is awesome, the soundtrack is beautiful. The actors were good choices I would say, Peter Fonda as Mephistopheles was a great idea, and the slight sinister way he spoke was chilling, Eva mendes is good, nic cages acting is quite over the top in the transformation scene, but it makes sense for it to be a crazy performance, I love Sam Elliot as Carter Slade, it’s really an amazing choice but it’s annoying he wasn’t really ghost rider for too long, still pretty cool how he guided Johnny blaze through the film, overall good movie.
Say what you want about the movie, this song was a perfect fit for Ghost Rider. I still like the scene where the Phantom Rider and Johnny rode together with this song playing.
