We took an amazing road trip to the Cassadaga Hotel which is a haunted psychic hotel. This town and hotel date back to the 1800's. Very small and all of the residents are psychic mediums. The town has a strange energy to it. Such an awesome place to visit in Cassadaga Florida.

Also we have an area here in southeastern Wisconsin that has a concentration ( I've been told of but have not experienced personally) similar to where you celebrated. This may sound crazy to some but my husband passed away in 2004 and has on occasion left me litle reminders in the form of dimes in strange places i.e. toes of my shoes, bottom of cat food bag, and the one that really made me a believer was inside the cardboard of a roll of potty paper I had hanging....went to use it one day and the dime fell to the floor! I'm generally quite practical but in this i choose to believe......

As an English speaking (Australian) person, I must say - Americans don't speak English! lol e.g. 'It is broken' not 'it's broke'. Yes, I am a grammar/spelling nazi! I quite agree with you about the bullying, the rudeness and the treatment of people who aren't from the same race as our selves. It is happening more and more here too. We are all the same colour inside, I was a nurse, I have seen inside quite a few bodies with different coloured skin. It basically boils down to bad manners and greed. There is no need for either. How far is the trip? My ideal, no people, no lights in the bush. We go free camping in our van, love it :) I will wait for episode two with impatience! Sleep well.

My opinion on the English speaking thing is, I expect the same thing from anyone coming to the USA to live and/or work that I would expect from myself if I went to any other country in the world. Do it legally, remain legally, learn the primary language of the country you are in, and do not expect special treatment or them to change for you. I say learn the primary language because not every country has an official language.I think too many people go to another country like the USA then talk about how "In my country we do it this way or say it this way" and my response is if you choose to be here then do it and say it our way or if "your country" that you came from is so great go back there and do not expect me to change for you in "my country". I know this might rub some people the wrong way if they want the USA to change for them because I was called racist once for saying I expect people coming here to learn our primary language and do things legally because I expect the same thing of myself if I go to another country.

That is not right to ridicule someone for they way they look (skin color, eye color, or what their body looks like). Those things a person can not change but I guess I do not think of people like that because I never think of ridiculing someone for things like what they look like since things like skin or eye color, or body type. I personally do not go up to a person and say anything to them about language or physical looks ect and would never post it in a sign for all to see. At the same time, I should not be forced to change my language, laws ect for people coming from other places because other countries sure would not change for me. If a person comes to a country to live or work there is a reason they did and if they do not like the language or laws or how things are done here then you got to wonder why did they come in the first place. I hope you do not think I m being mean or disrespectful but I am tired of being told I should change for others from other places when they would not change for me if I went where they came from.

There is a whole psychic town in New York where nothing but mediums live too. They hold all kinds of functions there year round.
Yes and 1894 a charter was formed for the Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp. Two people were vital in forming the association: E.W Bond and Marion Skidmore. Bond supplied materials to build many of the original structures in the camp. Meanwhile, Skidmore was known as “Mother of the Camp.”Both came from the Lily Dale Assembly, a spiritual camp in New York whom many original Cassadaga Camp members hailed from. In fact, it was Skidmore’s idea to name the camp after the Cassadaga Lakes near the Lily Dale camp. They have a huge connection between the 2.

Come to South Florida where people speak whatever they want. Backwoods southern areas will be just that. We moved from Volusia County to South Florida for the better job markets, things to do, and our area is beautiful. The culture is distinct. My wife actually speaks Spanish well now from working w clients and I still have all the things I love- not the end of the world people. Lol. Perhaps they should educate themselves. I recommend American Nations by Woodard. There is no 1 America but 11 distinct nations within and it's been our diversity which has been our strength but certain powers exploit division so it's a double edged sword. Rant over!
