In fairness in BUCS all these teams are on pretty much the same level and its not exactly Test level defence. The 2 best this season are Durham and Exeter.
@@philipeafroboy1 Yes but it's university level, not schoolboys or tag. By now, the fundamentals or basics of tackling at least should be a pre-requisite. Defense is about attitude, you've got to want to tackle.
@@locominyana8916 you could make the same criticism about professional level rugby plenty of times too. Some of these players will occasionally play in championship for various clubs or in the premiership A league so they aren't bad players
@@philipeafroboy1 Definitely, that's what sports all about. I certainly won't be the last to critique my own performance. But what I do know is that I don't want to be coming off there having not emptied the tank win or lose. Those are just my expectations. For all I know, these guy's might just be the best there is to select from & that's ok too.
For the 1st XV, yes. The level is very high. But Beckett are a great rugby uni with many teams, so it will be a great club to be involved with regardless of which team you're playing in. I went to Uni of Shef and we used to play against Beckett. Always a good matchday. Enjoy it mate!
They run 5 teams, so you will get into one. Most of the 1st team will already be linked up with pro club academies, specifically the one run by Yorkshire county following the relegation of leeds tykes.
