I'm so glad u added that dialogue! Not many others have heard it and that dialogue is pretty important for giving Charles and his and Lydias relationship more reasoning and depth as well as adding more emotion to the song. It also adds consistency to Lydias emotions in the song (she goes from sad and hopeless to accepting and without the dialogue it's kinda confusing for people who just listen to the song). BJ pretty much blackmails her to marry him, so I think she makes a plan to kill him right after he comes back to life. Also, when he started feeling emotions, he was happy then sad then angry and said he wanted to kill, so she killed him first.

Unpopular opinion: I didn't like Lydia's Dad redemption, like, he's been acting like a duck the whole show, and I don't wanna forgive him because of the 6 min of talking he had with his daughter, idk, seems kinda fake, I do love this song tho.
