@Bobby Burton; The more I listen to CJ Vogel on these livestreams, the more I think you guys really make a great team. I don't agree with everything he says, but his addition to the livestreams has been very valuable.

I'm confused. Sark has two recruiting classes under his belt that picked up Cook, Moore, Niblett, and other positions that were labeled positions of need and players that were a must get. Those players have had a whole year to develop, which people are crediting Sark for having a developmental staff, now if that is true why do we have so many holes and must get this player and that player from the portal? Are guys not developing or did the staff miss on evaluations. The portal is a supplement to the roster or at least it should be. Are we going to be saying we need to portal linemen when Banks and Majors move on next year?

      Good question

Effectively, None of them have any college experience. You don’t want to play a season of SEC football with zero experience at wr. You don’t want that at any position. Nobody knows how those guys will turn out. It may take a guy 3 months to develop. Or three years.

I think those guys will be great but they’re not experienced. Sark is looking for some experience in that room.

@@KineticSkepticexactly. WR scares me the most of all the positions heading into next year. Would be more nervous if Quinn wasn’t coming back

@KineticSkeptic Worthy didn't have any experience when he landed on the 40. He ended up doing just fine. Those guys don't have any experience because Sark doesn't rotate his recievers. The guys he's bringing in will be draft eligible after next year. Let's say Sark brings in 3 guys and they start, knowing what we know about Sark's WR rotation when will the guys who don't start get any reps? Is the plan to portal WRs every year? If so then Texas still isn't a developmental school.

I knew Randy Quaid was from Texas, but was unaware he was a Texas fan.

How many portal wide receivers is Sark trying to sign at this point? In 3 years he has only developed 1 homegrown talent in Worthy. Why recruit these 4 and 5 stars when they will eventually transfer if they don’t get on the field within 2 years? Brennan Thompson already left and I could possibly see Niblett as well 🤷‍♂️

It’s more an indictment of what was in the cupboard when he got to Texas.

If they can’t beat out the portal guys then they shouldn’t be on the field. If they can, great.

@@KineticSkeptic Bobby has always favored experience over talent. I choose to do otherwise. I'm an OG and watched tOSU win a natty with four sophomores in the offensive backfield.

@@OnTexasFootball I understand Sark didn’t inherit much but Whittington and Cain but if he brings in 3 portal wide receivers and only plays a rotation of 3, that doesn’t add up with Cook, Moore, Wingo and Niblett. Just saying….

Do they speed up taking commitments due to the expanded playoffs starting earlier in the year and having difficulty juggling the playoff, recruiting, portal entries and exits?

I understand wanting to grab all these portal players, but at WR and DB, why are we not trusting the young talent we have there? We have a bunch of Fr/So guys at DB who are very talented but can't see the field, for whatever reason? Jordan was injured but might be one of the best we have on the team. Roberson and McDonald, again, very talented. We have guys there that I feel comfortable, even if Barron doesn't come back. With the addition of Mukuba, too.
WR is the same, we recruited guys like Cook, Niblett and Moore. Yet we're continuing to go after portal WR's, even after adding Golden.
At what point do we trust the guys we're recruiting and roll with them, instead of trying to bring in guys from the portal? We have talented guys, we need to let them shine or flame out, instead of not even getting a chance.
Just my take anyway. They did this with the OL and didn't bring in any help, yet now we want to bring in all this help where we have good talent but that can't see the field because guys that shouldn't be playing are playing or we bring in guys, pushing them back down.

I have earned four degrees from the UT and sat with friends at many games. So, I know Texas Fight, Hook ‘em Horns, and where the eyes of Texas are. The one major fault with Texas football from the late ‘60s-present time -in my opinion- is the failure to establish a dynasty of more than one year. No decade. Not even half a decade. Other schools have been able to do so with a smaller purse. So, what is the biggest obstacle to real success? I watched the bowl game against #2 Washington and what I saw was underwhelming plays (offense & defense) from such a hyped up coaching class. I saw more sweat in the PR videos of the new coach, the new coach trying on Luchesse boots, and the coaches bragging on their world class infrastructure.

From 2001-2009, Texas was a dynasty of sorts IMO.
