I never listened to the original. Part of me wants to hear it, and part of me likes to think this version might exceed it.
It doesn't. It's great, but it's not the same. I think you will agree that they can't be compared - the same song, but at the same time two slightly different things. At least for me, they each raise different emotions.

The violins well played but the volume is too loud, it should be more of a background noise not trying to steal the focus of the musical piece, its a lovely song though, i liked it too! musically, with the call to arms by many all over Europe and the ukraine i'm pased worrying about the nationality of the singer, in troubled times, who sings the message is unimportant, i wouldn't choose a bad uk song over a superb and beautiful american song for example.
