I’ll be in Chiangmai for the month of May. On May 30, I fly back to the U.S. at 1:30 PM. I was going to take the train to Bangkok but was checking airfares yesterday and saw a $10 fare on Thai VietJet at 6:35 AM and booked that. It allows no checked luggage for free, so I will ship my luggage by train 2 days early and go to train station from BKK, pick up luggage and taxi back to BKK in time for my 1:30 flight. I may spend $15 doing this but it is much cheaper than paying an additional $60-$70 to check the luggage on the plane
A post note. I actually checked yesterday what it would cost for my luggage. I got a price of 40 kilos for 1,300 baht, around $36. I decided not to ship my bags on the train and pick them up after landing at Swampy. I’m assuming that the 40 kilo allowance can be divided between 2 pieces of luggage? That leaves me my carryon, which will be at 7 kilos, and my backpack on the plane. Did you notice if they were weighing backpacks? Great video, particularly the 2nd time through.
Interesting. I have flown a number of times with the main VietJet and always had a very enjoyable experience. I guess maybe you needed to use the call button to order food? The food prices are certainly very reasonable. As for minor equipment issues, like the table and armrest, I don't bother about such things. Nor do I care what sort of uniform staff wear!
one hour red eye flight, no need to have meal. the crew probably need to serve and collect yr food tray within 20mins. thats just not enough time for me to even unwrapped my food before i put into my mouth.
It is possible though. I write from the UK and in the 1980s BA used to operate Super Shuttle with B757s on domestic routes. All pax on these one-class flights were served a hot, cooked English breakfast (regardless of fare paid). The routes were to LHR from GLA/EDI/BFS. Cabin staff worked very hard indeed on the above sectors which were similar in length to CNX-BKK but they proved it was possible. (Today of course with competition from LCCs it is only BA business class pax who receive the cooked breakfast !)
Lol… what a tray table. Enjoyed this one mate, as this week I am planning to book the parent company’s Viet Jet Air between SGN and HAN. Surprised you didn’t title this “Starved by Thai Viet Jet” few extra clicks 😂
Cold? I have NEVER used that word in Thailand ever. It's either hot or hotter. I am SO excited to watch your UL flights as I will be taking them in a few weeks. Need to get tips from your vids. Your itinerary is next level. I am knackered just watching your videos. I remember you messaging me about your CMB situation. If anyone ever offers me to pack free food, I would always accept.haha I also always book the back of the plane as in MEL domestic, very often VA boards from the rear. Vietjet colour scheme almost looks like AirAsia. I LOVE the circus-esque uniforms. We won;t forget it anytime soon. Ryan! GOlden shower and your singing. Your killing me. People are staring at me! I just realised that your tank top says 'France'. This is truly inception as I'm in HKG waiting for my CX flight to CDG! I've actually never seen sandwiches for sale on Asian LCCs.
Chiang Mai actually gets cool in winter... Especially at night. I have no issue with the circus uniform, just wonder how the hell is it comfortable in that? Hahahaha I'm actually knackered churning out these videos I'm going to take a break this week.
Do it - VietJet from Australia....... I'm imaging the marketing department watching your video and all those attendants being reprimanded for not making any sales. Yes surely BS, they probably did not want the stress of set up and pack away in such a short time frame. In a way glad you did not eat on the plane. If you can fight your hanger this means eating in Bangkok which must be extraordinary.
Indeed.... I've done Air Asia between KUL SIN and they're airborne for 20min. And they somehow manage sales and special meals. It's a rush and not fun. I'm still eating as we descend. So who knows why VZ could not manage this on a one hour flight?
thats terrible that you missed out on a meal. and the tray wasnt the best, id be complaining, also that arm rest. pretty bad considering you mentioned its only just over 7 years old
man you need to sing on your videos more often! Time to fly for LOVE!!!! The uniform makes them look like they work at Seaworld or perhaps are scouts! that is no leg room at all by the way and what exactly with the food????? I'm confused!
Thai Viet Jet Air Is Another Airlines I Havent Flown With.Great Trip Report

Wow! You must be travelling on a budget! I'm envious of your month long trip in Chiang Mai, it is such a quaint little town. So tranquil.

If I wasn't filming, I wouldn't have bothered. But I really wanted to showcase their catering.

Me so hungry is a reference to Full Metal Jacket, the movie set around the Vietnam War where someone yells ME SO H*RNY. 😂
@@ryansofly 1987 release… I wasn’t a thought 😆 I still like my title

Ha yeah... Aircraft was pretty worn. Not surprising considering the cycles it goes through.
The song 😂😂😂😂 and the uniform 😂😂😂😂That sux when you didn't get your meal
I know right? Omg the theme song was in my head for a few days. Suppose the marketing is successful in that sense.
