Zabardast mashaallah. Shahid Sahab in a small span of 2:04 thirty minutes you intelligently and comprehensively identified the economic, political and social ailments of our economy and provided appropriate solutions to overcome them, which is great. I genuinely appreciate your thought provoking analytical discourse covered beautifully in the interview. Thanks
Mashaallah, good work to bring these diamonds on the show, the insights and their discussion is indeed more informative than a lecture of a professor. I Would like to see Mr Irfan-ur-Rehman Raja on this show please.
Very well conducted interview. However a few comments are given to put my two cents in it: 1. No where in the world pension is taxed. The aging population of retired people is a liabilities of the state in any welfare state therefore taxing pension has never been suggested by IMF. 2. Pension of the retired defence personnel constitutes 75% of the total federal pension head. Before Musharraf’s rule it was covered in the defence budget 3. More than 75% of agricultural land in Pakistan comprises small farmers who are outside of the tax net. 4. IMF has also pointed out that in Pakistan economic policies only serve elites of the country. The economic policies should have been framed in view of the welfare of the general public. 5. The host rightly said that NAB is used for political purposes and Shahid sb has rightly said that it must go. Instead the existing accountability mechanism should be strengthened and implemented without any interference. 6. Smuggling is the main hurdle in the way of industrialization. Senseless imports must be stopped. 7. Political stability in the country is the foremost prerequisite for economic growth in any country. And in the end conducting the interview was of good quality. Both the host as well as the guest were excellent and knowledgeable. The overall standard can be termed as excellent 👍. This program must go on.
0:11 Excellent analysis of the economic problems of the country. My suggestion would be to take up all these issues one by one for detailed discussion.
Can anyone educate me that what is meant by rationalizing the agricultural taxes? Back in the video while he was discussing losses of public sectors , he said we should rationalize them, which means to curtail the losses. Similarly, he discussed that we ought to rationalize the agricultural taxes. So, here what is meant by rationalizing?
