I really like the new Orvis Guide net. I have it in both the short and long lengths. Smaller holes in the net bag are perfect for my native brook trout

If you remove the cap from the end of your hollow metal net handle and shoot spray foam (found at Walmart or Home Depot) into the handle, or cut strips from a pool noodle and shove them in your metal net will float almost as well as a wood net. You can also shoot the foam into the hoop on the metal nets if the ends are open enough to get the straw into.

Thanks, that is an awesome tip. I did have a pool noodle on the handle of one of my old metal nets. That worked great.

Like you I’ve tried them all , it really becomes a matter of cost and functionality. The one thing I do recommend is some type of cord to attach to your net no matter if you have it on a pack or in your belt . I have at least a dozen nice ( Brodin / Fishponds ) nets I’ve found over the years floating down the river . Thanks for sharing.
