- When inventor Lonnie Johnson took a simple squirt gun and ramped it WAY up, he had no idea what a hit it would be. Since in the early 1990s, the Super Soaker has soaked up more than $1 billion in toy sales. But Johnson hasn't stopped there. Mo Rocca reports on how Johnson, a former engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, continues to make a big splash. Originally broadcast on May 21, 2017.

The super soaker I always wanted was the CPS 3000 in 1997 or 1998. It had a backpack attached to it. It got released again in 2000 but they change the color, it was called 3200 model.
Wasnt it 3500 🤔 yeah i remember i had the 2500, i destroyed everyone

Now, after all these years, I know it was true! I did think it was only a rumor. Someone from JPL did invent the super-soaker! LOL
Yeah and they had to stop making them like everything else good. Now kids want i phones to stare at all day and not have real fun like you did with these. The CPS 2000 was the greatest water gun ever made. I had the Monster which was a close second.
Your comment made me think and ask about kids and smartphones.
Maybe younger and middle aged kids will still run out side to the playgrounds. But older kids by ages 10 and 12 might get their first smartphones.

When you see a successful black man, if you immediately think about politics and racism, you might want to revisit your understanding of what racism is. Trump was a role-model in black culture and was loved by many Black Americans until he decided to run for presidency. Trump got 8% of the black vote in 2016. If you see more than 8% in this election, it's because many Black American's are #BLEXIT ing. Zeacorzeppelin10 originally there were $40, now they are all over the board. The Monster XL. You see them listed for $200-300 dollars. I think they sell for 120-150.

Video games took over out door fun because we got read of these water bazookas of awesomeness. Kids today don't know what a water gun fight really feels like. I miss the sting from getting hit with the full force of the SCP 2000. Or holding one and feeling the small kickback it gave when pulling the trigger. ahhhh nostalgia... im pledging to buy some for my kids. Full paintball grade face masks of course. I don't want to over react like my parents and ban fun. Think smarter not harder. wear safety. 😆
