Hey Karen! Thanks you for your very nice comment. I am so glad you stopped by, and appreciate your support..Your dad has been visiting for several years. For some strange reason he seems to like our old hillbilly music, and I'm glad he does..lol..please come back and see me again soon Karen...Ron(AKA.mountnmonkey)..
It was nice to find a new song from you, Ron. I miss the days of finding new music from all the mountain monkeys almost daily. (Life rolls on. It'll roll over you if you let it.) Thanks for sharing. I wish the best for you as always.
Hey Paul! It sure is great to have you visit, and looks like it's going to FINALLY let me reply. This thing wouldn't LET me reply to comments for a long time..As you know, I am in Florida now, and in response to one of your comments..As the old saying goes.."you can take the monkey out of the mountains, but you can't take the mountains out of the monkey". And if that ain't an old saying, it ought to be..lol..Thanks for dropping by Paul..and once again..GREAT TO SEE YA!!
Hey man you're back. So lovely to see and hear you again. I've read through the comments and seen the sad news that some of the guys have passed, God bless them. Miss seeing the garage! I haven't messed with any videos for years either, just might start now. That was brilliant, no need to pluck up courage mate. Get another one out and for Gord's sake Keep Safe, Stay Safe. Rikky. Oh and I hope all your folk well.
Hey Rikky!! I have often wondered what ever happened to you..GREAT TO SEE YA AGAIN!! Yes, things have changed as things alway do..Thanks for coming by ol' friend..see ya again soon..Ron..
Good job. I love the Carter Family, Sara, Maybelle and A.P.; also, the daughters: Helen, Anita and June. Seen them several times (not.Sara or A.P.) in California at Johnny Cash shows. Keep up the good work, Ron. Look forward to your next one.
For the record, I looked it up and found it was originally written by Gussie L. Davis in 1880. The melody was changed later about 1930. Several folks have since sung it, but yours can't be beat, why, because it's not, it is the opposite of, a slick overly polished production but simply simple and sung from the heart. So please don't be too hard on yourself and keep on keeping on. Imperfections can even help sometimes. You may relax in the knowledge that you are loved by many. I took the liberty to read lots of comments spanning over several years.
@@robertmix610 Thanks for info and your really nice comment Robert. Many of the Cater family tunes were tunes they had heard from other. A.P. travel around the mountains with the perpose of gathering tunes and poems they might use, many of which had been sung or played for generations, all the way back to Europe. I enjoy trying songs I like, knowing I'm just a hillbilly shade tree picker. I'm just humbled, and amazed that some people seem to like it..lol..
Not sure if the Carters wrote, but I AM pretty sure the were singing it before Norman was born..Norman is great..I am so glad you like it cause I am a little unsure trying stuff on my own..Thanks for watching..and nice comment..
