The way the health and stock mechanic works is actually extremally similar to a really old N64 game called Fighters Destiny. The games actually share a bunch of similar ideas and mechanics to the point I'd argue it might have even been a heavy inspiration for the developers or just a funny coincidence.

I gotta disagree. Considering the game takes place up until the kk arc I'd say she definitely was bigger for the story than half the captains and every lt except kira, renji, momo, and hisaga. She has 2 significant fights. Which is more than every captain.
@@AlexDrewsumin fair enough but in a hypothetical 20 char roster where we already have 9 confirmed chars (ichigo, chad, uryu, renji, rukia, byakuya, kisuke, yoruichi and gin) i personally wouldn't have her in that remaining 11, which i'd fill with aizen, tosen, zaraki, barragan, tier, starkk, yamamoto, toshiro, shunsui ulquiorra and grimmjow. they're the chars i'd expect to be highest priority (maybe swapping tosen out?) and thats still not counting a bunch of picks im almost sure will get in like soi fon, mayuri, nel, shinji and even a second ichigo for full mask/full hollow. Again this is only talking a hypothetical 20 char roster though, since that was the number i personally had as the minimum needed to get to aizen's defeat (and even that's with skipping some fan favorites) so i'm just happy to see her here as it means we're getting at least some focus on the not quite as important fights, as you can totally tell the necessary parts of the story without her being playable.

Im guessing maybe Toshiro is next they showed the stage where he fought Gin in the last gameplay showcase with the voice actors and it'd just make sense to do Gin > Rangiku > Toshiro if they REALLY wanted to impress me they'll toss Momo in there as well
People have been comparing it to tekken because it looks like it plays less like a arena fighter and more like a 3D fighter with a dynamic camera. I'd definitely like to see people play the game who know how to use all the defense and offense mechanics to the fullest.
As someone who's main games are "traditional" fighters like the Tekken's and the Street Fighters of the world, that just sounds like cope or ignorance to me. Like, maybe a casual first impression we could make some surface level similarities, but currently it's not doing anything substantially different from other arena fighters, not enough to be like "this reminds me of Tekken" at-least. I'm hopeful to see what the devs cooked up though. But this is so far still just an arean fighter, lol.

Its so insane getting consistent and hype reveals for an ANIME FIGHTER of all things. Its like just so unexpected and so out of the norm if low quality expected from these things, and i really admire how much they're cooking with this game and how much care they're putting in the advertising alone

I was rewatching the 25 min gameplay trailer and I noticed some things... In the final Ichigo vs. Byakuya match at 21:06 in your video, Ichigo does his Reversal state and I think he goes Hollow Mask, he sorta grabs his face and screams upwards - his face looks slightly different too... Is that why he's able to take another konpaku/life stock when he's in reversal? Are all Visors gonna be able to take an extra stock when they go Reversal if they also go masked or is the mask going to be the evolution? Also, I think that Sublimation is needed at minimum to be able to take stocks w/o the opponent's being in red health. In all cases where it happened (as far as I remember), the character attacking was in sublimation.
rangiku isn't a character i was expecting to main but her moveset looks like it would fit me pretty well i will probably try her out the controling the opponents movement sounds like trap character and as a rachel main (blazblue) and byakuya main (under night in birth) I'm looking forward to trying her
Getsuga tenshou is white ichigo’s move. That’s why we can’t see ichigo using it until he gets possessed by white. So we are going to get at the very least 4 ichigo : begining to bankai, bankai to mask, vizard to arrancar and no spiritual pressure ichigo (who doesn’t go into Mugetsu but has is at its finnisher) If the game actually goes through the whole story we should have 3 more : fullbringer to new zangetsu, new zangetsu to reforged double blade zangetsu, double blade zangetsu to last form zangetsu
I'm kinda worried about the Sublimation mechanic we saw in the game play showcase. I don't really like the idea of having all my hp go away from one attack multiple times. Some ideas I think that would balance this would be. 1. Have it just do a bunch of damage rather than one shotting you. 2. Have it only take away half of the possible Konpaku you could take if you dealt the full damage soul break Kikon move. This way it can't end games, but still threatens the opposing player. 3. Only be a one time use thing. I don't think its very balanced to have the ability to constantly one shot your opponent. Or maybe even a combination of 2 and 3. What do you think Globku? EDIT: After watching the matches over and over I feel like sublimation is a answer for games dragging out. I think that the combo strings should be doing more dmg to the massive hp bar rather than having a one hit kill solution. We should be more rewarded for landing combos than big ultimate attacks. The game needs to have normal attacks do more damage and have the red part of the hp bar be bigger only. Not have the whole health bar be so massive.
I dunno, that gameplay was really weird with how easily yoruichi took that last game. Perhaps the idea is to make end game chaotic by make every attack lethal? but i dunno that sounds very stupid
There are probably ways to dodge or counter it. remember it was voice actors playing, so dont expect the best gameplay. You can see that right before yourichi had to actually hit byakuya in order to trigger the special k.o move

i didn't notice until my third watch of the gameplay but if you go to 19:12 in the video it seems like when ichigo uses white reverse gauge he puts on the hollow mask

When it comes to Orihime I'm now betting on her being revealed along with the other Hueco Mundo characters, i think that's the specific version of her they're making playable.
You gotta think they are going all the way up to aizen in the story mode. All captians and lieutenants had major fights in this time span so we can expect all captians and lieutenants and espadas at the least and thats already 30+ characters. Is anyone else confused that most of Rangiku's moveset are just the Kido that Rukia did in the series? I get she can't pull out much due to her proper moves being tied to her awakened state but it just feels a bit weird all her moves are just Rukia's go to Kido. Yeah they're both Soul Reapers and Kido practitioners but still.

Why does half the roster have Blue Nocturne as a super? Blue Nocturne is Remy’s horribly designed counter super in 3rd Strike, in part because the screen freeze starts when you activate it, instead of when someone hits him during the counter Unless they work on projectiles, those counters are useless because anyone can react to the freeze
I mean, if they are professionals, it's very unlikely they would of designed the counters/parries/defense before the offensive moves. So it would be fair to assume the counters work on everything. Especially since there are tons of teleports in this game too.
I'm a big Orihime fan, but I really wouldn't mind her not being playable, like, I know this is a battle shonen, but a character doesn't need to have cool fights and action sequences to be unique and important, Orihime's biggest character defining moments were never in action.

I was rewatching the 25 min gameplay trailer and I noticed some things...
In the final Ichigo vs. Byakuya match at 21:06 in your video, Ichigo does his Reversal state and I think he goes Hollow Mask, he sorta grabs his face and screams upwards - his face looks slightly different too... Is that why he's able to take another konpaku/life stock when he's in reversal? Are all Visors gonna be able to take an extra stock when they go Reversal if they also go masked or is the mask going to be the evolution?
Also, I think that Sublimation is needed at minimum to be able to take stocks w/o the opponent's being in red health. In all cases where it happened (as far as I remember), the character attacking was in sublimation.
rangiku isn't a character i was expecting to main but her moveset looks like it would fit me pretty well i will probably try her out the controling the opponents movement sounds like trap character and as a rachel main (blazblue) and byakuya main (under night in birth) I'm looking forward to trying her
Getsuga tenshou is white ichigo’s move. That’s why we can’t see ichigo using it until he gets possessed by white. So we are going to get at the very least 4 ichigo : begining to bankai, bankai to mask, vizard to arrancar and no spiritual pressure ichigo (who doesn’t go into Mugetsu but has is at its finnisher)
If the game actually goes through the whole story we should have 3 more : fullbringer to new zangetsu, new zangetsu to reforged double blade zangetsu, double blade zangetsu to last form zangetsu
Don kanoji would be a nice and surprising, or ganju asuming they wont wastw character slots.

I'm kinda worried about the Sublimation mechanic we saw in the game play showcase. I don't really like the idea of having all my hp go away from one attack multiple times.
Some ideas I think that would balance this would be.
1. Have it just do a bunch of damage rather than one shotting you.
2. Have it only take away half of the possible Konpaku you could take if you dealt the full damage soul break Kikon move. This way it can't end games, but still threatens the opposing player.
3. Only be a one time use thing. I don't think its very balanced to have the ability to constantly one shot your opponent.
Or maybe even a combination of 2 and 3.
What do you think Globku?
EDIT: After watching the matches over and over I feel like sublimation is a answer for games dragging out. I think that the combo strings should be doing more dmg to the massive hp bar rather than having a one hit kill solution. We should be more rewarded for landing combos than big ultimate attacks. The game needs to have normal attacks do more damage and have the red part of the hp bar be bigger only. Not have the whole health bar be so massive.
I mean doesn’t Guilty Gear games have Insta-Kill or One-shot Moves in it? That works well for them. I don’t see why it can’t work for this game.
I dunno, that gameplay was really weird with how easily yoruichi took that last game. Perhaps the idea is to make end game chaotic by make every attack lethal? but i dunno that sounds very stupid
There are probably ways to dodge or counter it. remember it was voice actors playing, so dont expect the best gameplay. You can see that right before yourichi had to actually hit byakuya in order to trigger the special k.o move
@@JokerP5 Yeah that's true. I am a HUGE Bleach fan and everything else about the game looked amazing. That was the only gripe I had. I'd rather it just be a huge damage ultimate instead of a insta kill personally. I also found it odd the meter didn't have to fill to full to use it.
When Ichigo uses reverse actions in his bankai we can see him with his half hollow mask

Interesting how instead of giving her the orange hair color of the original anime or the blond hair of the manga and the _TYBW_ anime, they've gone with something roughly in the middle. Orange, yes, but a lighter shade.
When it comes to Orihime I'm now betting on her being revealed along with the other Hueco Mundo characters, i think that's the specific version of her they're making playable.
I really hope this game will come out good. I love high damage games like Samsho.

Is anyone else confused that most of Rangiku's moveset are just the Kido that Rukia did in the series? I get she can't pull out much due to her proper moves being tied to her awakened state but it just feels a bit weird all her moves are just Rukia's go to Kido. Yeah they're both Soul Reapers and Kido practitioners but still.

Why does half the roster have Blue Nocturne as a super?
Blue Nocturne is Remy’s horribly designed counter super in 3rd Strike, in part because the screen freeze starts when you activate it, instead of when someone hits him during the counter
Unless they work on projectiles, those counters are useless because anyone can react to the freeze
I mean, if they are professionals, it's very unlikely they would of designed the counters/parries/defense before the offensive moves. So it would be fair to assume the counters work on everything. Especially since there are tons of teleports in this game too.
I'm a big Orihime fan, but I really wouldn't mind her not being playable, like, I know this is a battle shonen, but a character doesn't need to have cool fights and action sequences to be unique and important, Orihime's biggest character defining moments were never in action.
They should do jjk justice and make game for it like this 💀
