    I'm from a holler back WV. I saw my old home place fallen in and memories come to my childhood home.

    I've heard this song done I don't how many times, but nobody can touch Ricky Skagg's tenor harmony. He has all this subtle extra notes he puts in that just give it an incredible sound.

    With the feeling I get from your style and melodic voice, I would guess you have been in touch with the Spirits in the South Louisiana soil and waters !!!
    Hard but smoothly moving you right along. Like you glide through all of the music without touching with your feet but Soul puts the buoyancy under you !!!!!

    I can't stop watching all these Tony Rice videos. Not only the greatest flat picker ever and the purest of singers, but always dressed with class! We'll all miss him forever. An old friend of mine ,Dave Bernis who also passed on a couple of years ago, did Tony's and Norman Blake's sound for a couple of tours. He gave me a board cassette tape that I played in my car till it broke. I loved that tape .it was a performance in Tampa. Rest in heavenly peace Tony. John Dady Roch. Ny

    If this was a military unit, it would be an Army Ranger battalion. There is a lot of firepower on that stage!

    Learned this tune as a student at Eastern Kentucky U. (circa 1980) The katts that taught me this song were full on Appalachian boys, from Slade Ky. Red River Gorge area. The guitar runs are fabulous! Love that A chord from no where. Aw.... folk me! this is a good diddy!

      Based on the way Ricky and Jerry look, I'd say early 90s.

    i dont like skags and douglas talking and laughing as tony sings, i find that disrespectful. shame on them. tony was one of the greatest flat pickers ever and had a wonderful baritone voice.

    • @carvinlambert6899
      @carvinlambert6899 Рік тому

      Totally agree. It's disrespectful and pulls the attention off of the singer and highlights the laughing as "Look over at US"
