This is when Canut was arranging the songs and playing lead guitar and the main singer,when they were Los Reyes,just before being officially billing as The Gipsy Kings and the Baliardos joining the group,I believe the person on the end next to Patchai is Julio Romero of Gitano Family,before it was officially his(it was Pablo and Patchai)....I think the music they produced as Los Reyes was so much more alive then....I have the whole story of those times and photos ,also a recording of their 1st break out performance on stage..with Canut singing songs from Bolero...
@@eliades1973 ...I didn't say it was 1987 I have their History all in contracts through a Talent agent from SONY of Paris,a close friend of mine and well known through the eyes and ears of all involved...I'm just replying to the photo here, I have on my site a different photo(lots of photo's given to me by the agent and Canut Reyes,so I do know the facts)) 1987 Los Reyes with the contract,they produced their 1st album in 1989 Titled "Gipsy Kings Los Reyes",this is the published album,I'm sure they worked on it before the actual published date...but I must say you are wrong about your facts amigo,I have my facts,all from their 1st manager who no one even knows about...I have 3 of their 1st events under contract all titled for Los Reyes 1989 ....using the name Los Reyes..something you or no one else except the members playing...as Los Reyes,because they were not going to use the name of Gipsy Kings,it isn't a Gipsy Kings event,they hadn't even performed together as of yet and that is another story,you may have to wait for the book I'm publishing to get all the facts...so do some research you might want to correct a few items of truth and reality....
Bob Morris, I am very interested in whatever information you have on the group on how things evolved before the big album came out in 1988. It would be very interesting to read your book! Why has no one ever written a rock biography of this amazing band? I’ve researched what I can and all I’ve determined is that Canut and Patchai quit the Gipsy Kings sometime in the mid-1980s after their first 2 albums Allegria (1982) and Luna del Fuego (19983) didn’t sell well. Those 2 then didn’t officially rejoin until around 1992 I think (for the Mosaique tour, after Chico was kicked off). As far as I know, Pablo (Paul) never left the group, so his presence here is interesting if this concert occurred in 1987 as that was when the GK released Bamboleo and Djobi Djoba as singles. Please share your knowledge Bob!!! (Btw, those interested should track down a copy of Canut’s solo album entitled Bolero, which is a beautiful disc)
