Note if you pinch the hoses and keeps leaking air that means it's the quick release valve or aka dump valve wich is only no mre thank 50 bucks compared to the valve you are changing $375
Great video. I see where I made my mistake. I was squeezing the lines at the relay valve and the sound would change but didn’t stop. Now I will try the same thing at the actual chamber !! Got it. Thanks bro!!!
Hi This is Abe I have a Dump truck Guys believe me I am working on my Truck for tow days !!! I couldn't find the problem!!! So tomorrow I am going back to my Truck to check it ,, Thank you 👏👏👏👏
My man that's what I need blood I was in my living room just dreading the task a head in the morning for that abs valve man you hit the nail on the head you save me time an money blood I have a bottle for you fam tell me were to send it done bless up
Thank you for the very useful help. I just had a sudden service brake leak coming through the modulator discharge valve and wondered if it was the modulator that went bad. I will go back tomorrow apply your test to see if it is the brake pad or the modulator that is bad. You're really great!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 THANK YOU!!!!!!! I WOULD HAVE SPENT $300 FOR NOTHING REPLACING THAT ABS MODULATOR! $75 FOR A PIGGY BACK BRAKE CHAMBER KIT FIXED THE PROBLEM! RESPECT.
great advice , i bet a lot a shop will charge you to put a new abs valve plus the hoses to charge more $$$ , tip --always have tools w/you to check things by yourself
So when I pinched off the hose, leak stopped at the valve. Waited ten seconds, took the grips off and complete air leaking went away and pressure built up. Any idea what it could be?
Just had this issue/solved on a ‘17 Mack Cxu612 I pinched lines at chambers at nothing. Put my hand over abs valve and saw chambers moving. Went to quick release valve that supplys air to emergency side of chambers which sits behind 5th wheel and pinched the lines with then the ABS valve stopped leaking . Removed quick release valve and blew air into it and was restricted some . Replaced quick release valve with both 90° fittings and retested. No leaks returned to customer
It's just backfeed frum the chamber. There is not a check valve in brake chambers. Air is leaking frum emergency side of chamber through the damaged diaphragm out the service side and is back feeding to and out the abs modulator exhaust port. And also pinching lines is not correct. Correct way is to remove the service line at the fitting. If you wanna get technical
What if that ABS valve is dumping air? I changed it out, still doing it. I've pinched off each line from each brake chamber and still nothing. I'm lost
You might have more than one springbrake chamber being leaking air back up unto the serice line back to relay and out the exhaust port. 1. Release the park brake 2. Pinch the hose that connects the chamber to the service or foot brake relay. 3 if the brake chamber starts to engage, its time for a new one. 4. Do it on al chambers connected to the relay. 5 NB. dont confuse the park brake relay with the service brake/foot brake relay. 6. The service or foot brake relay is usually ported into the port closest to the front or mounting side of the chamber.
Did you ever figure out your problem? Mine is doing the same thing, I replaced the valve and it’s still leaking air even if I pinch off the hoses to the brake cans
@@spencerwentz5718 I'll have to think about that and get back to you. Its been so long ago and I've worked on other stuff since then I don't remember at the moment
When I go to adjust the brakes as I am tightening up the brake pad air starts to leak from the ABS valve Does that mean the valve is bad or the chamber
Man This is the problem of the chenglong dump truck I am driving , the mechanics been working more than a Week , they change the two check valves because its leaking air now the other valve not leaking any more only one left both new but it still leaks air they change one the faulty brake chamber but still the valve still leaks and the leaks get stronger when ever I press the brake
My ABS valve blast out air when ever I push on the brakes. Major leak. Only leaks when stepping on the brakes. Tried pinching of air lines, no luck. Will bleed off air tanks in 30 seconds.
I have a leak comes out of the tread valve duo system exhaust. I disconnect abs line at the exhaust and it stops leaking (not applying air to brake chamber, just building up air). Is it central valve that feeds the abs modulars leaking or one of the brake chamber?
When you engage your park brake you remove air from the energency side of the brake chamber or spring brake. If the air still exits the exhaust port , its definitate that the relay itself will have a torn piston or the surface of the piston does not seal off inside the valve. Debris might might be present on the piston inside the valve , keeping in it in an slightly open possition
I didn't have to pinch off the brake line to find it. My left rear drive wheel brakes locked up and started smoking and then started purging air through the check valve
I have a question when I apply the parking brakes the truck dont stop right away it rolls about a foot then stops sometimes I hit the brake to force it do you think its the abs valve?
First I would get your brakes adjusted and see if that helps cause they could be out of adjustment causing it to roll until it hits a hit spot on the brake shoes. Also take a look at your slack adjusters to make sure the lock works on them. When you adjust the shoes all the way to the brake drum without putting the tool in the slack adjuster lock, it should not back off until the tool is inserted. If that happens then you'll need knew slack adjusters and also check your air brake chamber for any broken springs.
My brakes are not fully releasing on take off and drags bad when coming to a stop. Abs lights comes and but turns off when cycling power. Anyone know if this the problem ?
When you have the brakes applied you can go underneath the unit, pull the plastic cap off of the Air brake chambers and see if the spring is broke. Typically can just use your hands to tap it and if it rattles like a rattle snake then you have a bad air brake chamber. Causes air to leak back to the abs module valve due to not holding the pressure onto one side. It could also be a bad diaphragm but that typically will bleed the air through the chamber itself. Hope that helps and also remember to chock wheels and cage air brake chambers if changing out yourself.
Ok men i have same problem the mecanic change 2 chambers drive side but still doing now changes after 4 months changes the others 2 and valves but now when i pulls trailer brakes drain air from my safety valve like 2 or 3 seconds and then put brakes on trailer i though was my valve so i change it and still doing tractor its mine but trailer company and start drain air after mecanic changes valves in the trailer trailer
No there is a seal between the spring break section and service brake section that is supposed to act as a check valve so the air from the spring brake side doesnt leak through to the service side
Check the air brake chambers when brake valve is applied and see if you have more than one inch of travel while prying on with pry bar. Then release brakes and apply brake foot pedal and see if the push rod exerts all the way. If so you'll need to change the chambers. Also can use a spray bottle with soapy water and spray directly on chambers and if it comes through the pushrod area then it's bad due to the spring or diaphragm
Man, Thank you so much. This is exactly the info I needed. Straight to the point. No BS. Thanks again
Dude thank you thank you thank you! This just saved me days of frustration more than likely. Much appreciated!

Where is the other valve you’re talking about located
@spencerwentz5718 i drive a t680
Its between the cab and axle on the cross memeber between the chassis Google quick release valve
@arunevaiciulyte7805 not necessarily abd valve is expensive 300 bucks or more truble shot it first
@arunevaiciulyte7805 break chamber

No check valve in a brake can. E brake release air leaking through diaphragm into service side. Same result, bad can

Direct to the point..that's great bro
Nice. Thank you for this video bro. You saved me money
Explained everything in very short video, really helpful thank you buddy
Will “trailer ABS light” show on tractor dash, if pod is bad too?
Thank you for this video. This worked for me
So when I pinched off the hose, leak stopped at the valve. Waited ten seconds, took the grips off and complete air leaking went away and pressure built up. Any idea what it could be?
I learn something today, thank you sir!
Muchas gracias amigo, dios te bendiga con salud y mucha sabiduría, gracias a usted pude resolver mi problema 🙏🙏🙏

Thx bro. You really save me some money
Thanks man! I can fix that myself now.
If you can please do a video on any tricks to replace air bags on trailers I would appreciate. I subscribed

So do you agree it’s a brake chamber?
Thanks cause this was exactly my problem...now the relay valve is leaking..changed it with new one and still leaking
Is it leaking without pressing the service brake? Or with
Awesome tip thanks
Genius pure Genius.... It my understanding harbor freight sells a version of them Pliers for 14 bucks
A brake chamber or a quick release valve. In my case it was the quick release valve.
Nice tip brother
Thank you so much you save me money.! thank you .!
Mine is leaking from the main valve in the middle and only when I apply brakes could this help me?
Mine does too.
You guys find the fix?
Will this issue cause there to be a abs light on the dash? I have this same issue and have a abs and TC light
It could..sound like you atc valve if it only leaks while brakes are applied. If it leaks with park break on. Spring brake. Usually.
What if that ABS valve is dumping air? I changed it out, still doing it. I've pinched off each line from each brake chamber and still nothing. I'm lost
Were the parking brakes released when you pinched the lines off? Usually I check brake pods first them move to the relay/ quick release valve
You might have more than one springbrake chamber being leaking air back up unto the serice line back to relay and out the exhaust port.
1. Release the park brake

What was the problem because my truck is doing it
How how you fixed. What was the problem?
My Car Nissan Navara 2014 Diesel 2.5L
Gabung problem in air leakage from ABS so what do I need to change actually?
Does it matter which hose you clamp off?
Thank you very much
I'm having a similar problem right now on the front.. when I press the brake, it leaks on front left abs
Did you fix it ? And if so what was the problem
@yaseenrahman6547 yea.. in my case it was the abs valve
Woooow thank you so much!

Wheres that check valve?
Nice!
Whats the of that tool Sir? Oh and great video.
The Marc and Junie show they’re called hose pinch off pliers
Is this with service brakes applied or not? My ABS valve leaks with service brakes applied
Thank you

There is no any valve in the brake chamber. It is leaking through non serviceable diaphragm. Good video though.
Does this mean it’s the brake chamber?
@@itsathaithing yes
Is there a way to bypass it so i can get back to the yard?
Thank you!!!
Bracket chamber has what is called a pan cake over time it will delvop a hole just replace pan cake rubber a 20 minutes job if you know what to do
So what if I use the chamber bolt to back the chamber off and it still leaks when I apply the park brake ?
If it still leak when you apply the park brake its the abs solenoid valve itself.
👍👍👍
So is it the Air Chamber that is the problem?
When you have the brakes applied you can go underneath the unit, pull the plastic cap off of the Air brake chambers and see if the spring is broke. It was a bad diagram?
No there is a seal between the spring break section and service brake section that is supposed to act as a check valve so the air from the spring brake side doesnt leak through to the service side
It's not a check valve it the diagram leaking for the park brake so air is getting into the service brake
I got the same problem but in the front?
Check the air brake chambers when brake valve is applied and see if you have more than one inch of travel while prying on with pry bar. It's not a pod brother it's a break chamber
can a guy get away with just changing the diaphragm ?
Where’s the emergency brake again 🤦🏻♂️
😂😂😂😂😂
It's a brake chamber
