  • Paper bead tutorial - I'm back with another paper bead tutorial along with some more free paper bead printables for you. In this tutorial I will show you how to use my latest free printables to make beautiful paper beads.
There are three free paper bead designs for you to download.
Once you have these free printables, you can use your imagination as to how you want to use them but I have given you my ideas here.
Although this is a paper bead tutorial, you can use the designs on one of the free printables in other crafts if you want to.
The color scheme for the paper beads in this tutorial is Teal and Red and was taken from one of my original paintings.
The design on the beads and pendant have been taken directly from a scan of one of my paintings so these beads are truly unique.
People who make greeting cards may enjoy using the sheet of designs that has the whole painting on plus circular, square and heart shaped portions of the painting.
In this video, I also explain why I've been absent from UA-cam for a few weeks. Please comment if you are also experiencing the same isues as me and are finding it difficult to find time for yourself.
Thank you for watching my paper beads tutorial - please subscribe if you enjoyed it.

I want to send you hugs and positive thought as well as prayers for you and your family. I am so glad your mom is feeling better. I will keep you in my prayers
I too know what it is to take care of elderly. My other half has Alzheimer's..... And i lost my Father to Alzheimer's at the end of March.. We still haven't had a funeral due to Covid. There are other factors as well.... Meanwhile...Crafting is my outlet. Finding time for it sometimes is really hard but when i do i do love it. I really hope you have a great week and are able to find a little time for yourself.

Hi Robin, thank you for your thoughtful comment🙏. I’m so sorry to hear your partner has Alzheimers, that must be devastating to deal with for both of you. It’s such a cruel disease. And so sorry to hear about your father too. You are certainly having some major challenges in your life and yet you have taken time to be here💕. I thank you for that; sharing our experiences is so important in helping us all know we are not the only ones going through the daily challenges we face when taking care of vulnerable people. Thank goodness for crafting! And yes, finding time for it isn’t always easy. Thanks for watching and taking time to reach out. I will be putting more and more craft printables up and if there is anything in particular you would like to use in your crafts, let me know. If it’s beyond my skills I will let you know but I will always try to create any suggested printable when asked. Take care of yourself. Sending you much love 🙏😘

Sorry to hear about your mom, and glad she is getting better. I lost my mom 5 years ago, and it's still hard.

Thank you so much for your kind words Karyn - I appreciate them very much. I am sorry to hear you lost your mum. That must be so hard. Today is the third anniversary of my dad passing so I do know how it feels to lose a parent, even when they are very old. It’s still too soon, however old they are. I hope you have lots of family and or friends around you💕Thanks for being here and taking time to reach out. 🙏💐

Hi Gilly. Yummy and I enjoyed your video as always. It was her 17th b'day on the 10th but she still plays like a kitten. I can understand your situation. I live close to my parents and my father is very ill. The dr's say he won't see Christmas. It is very exhausting for my Mum, both mentally and physically. We just do what we can. So glad your Mum is on the mend.

Hi Alli, wow 17! That’s amazing - is that extra old for a cat? I didn’t know cats lived so long. She must have a very good life 🐱. Sorry to hear about your father, that is so sad. I can imagine what you and your mother are going through right now. It’s really tough caring for someone 24/7 when you know they are going to die quite soon. So many mixed emotions involved. We went through it with my dad in 2018 and it was a huge relief when he passed away - for him and us too. When you get your breath back, the recent memory of their suffering starts to fade. That allows you to have memories of how they were before they got ill and then the grief really kicks in. I guess that’s the price we pay for having parents who have good long lives. My husband lost both his back in his 20s which was awful at the time but he is not now watching them suffer and pass from old age. Thanks for sharing your experience Alli, it helps all of us in this position to feel less alone with our own experiences. Much love to you and your family (and Yummy!) across the miles. 🙏💕

Hello Gilly love the tutorial! Am so sorry you have been going through a lot with your mom! My mom lived with us for 3 and half year and she was more or less in bed most of the time! It took all of my time to take care of her! Bathing, cooking, taking to Dr going to store for her and other things that needed done. It was exhausting but I would do it all over again just to see her again. I hadn’t started making paperbeads and just visited with her during all my time. Being a caregiver is a ver hard thing to do but we have to to what’s best for our family. Am so so glad she’s doing so much better. Prayers coming for you and her!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hi Shelley, lovely to hear from you💕Goodness you had some challenges to face when you cared for your mum. Its hard enough when someone can still walk with support to the shower room but looking after a person who is bedridden must be very difficult. I had a taste of that while mum was really ill and didn’t want to get up. It really scared me, I wondered how on earth I would keep her clean and dry if she never got up again but some nurses showed me how to cope with a person in bed. Thankfully that phase passed and she is able to walk again with support. Three and a half years is a long time to cope and I can see how you were exhausted! 😱. Sorry you don’t have her anymore, it’s such a huge loss when a parent dies no matter how old they are. I know what you mean about wanting to see her again - even though this is hard work, I was very upset during the illness when we thought she might not recover. Thank you for your prayers Shelley - sending lots of love to you across the pond😍💕.

Sending love, strength and many well wishes to you, mum and your family. So happy to hear Mum is feeling a better. Our little family has been through the same type of situation, so I know of what you speak. Thank goodness we gave our crafts to keep us on the steady path and to entertain our minds, even if it’s for a bit. Love your beads. Super idea about the small drinking straws as guides for the string! Be well, be safe. Your friend and fan Debbie Baez, Naples, Florida, USA.

Thank you Debbie I really appreciate that so much. When I decided to speak about my mum, I was really hoping to ‘meet’ people who are either looking after elders or have done it in the past. I know you are all out there somewhere even though I don’t actually know anyone in my own neighbourhood who is doing it. And yes, our crafts are real life-savers💕 Glad you like the beads and the drinking straw guide idea - thank you so much for watching and reaching out - it means a lot. Sending love to you in Florida - hope all is well there.🙏💝

Hello Gilly, So great to see you again. Thanks for another awesome video. It is so hard to do what you are doing. I totally understand. What you are doing for your Mum is priceless, compassionate, loving, tiring, and the list goes on. Down the road a bit you will look back on this time with fond memories. Please know I am keeping your Mum, yourself, and your family in my daily prayers. We will be here to watch your videos whenever you may be able to make one. Consider yourself hugged! ❤❤😊😊

Oh that’s so kind - thank you so much. And thanks for the hug 🤗 😍. It’s got a bit easier since I made that video - my mum has fully recovered from a chest infection and I have found a wonderful carer who comes in every day to help out. It has made SUCH a difference. And she is definitely heaven sent - fully trained: sensible, kind and wonderful with my mum - so your prayers have worked! Thanks for supporting my videos by watching and reaching out - it is truly appreciated. Much love to you💝🙏

Hello Gilly. Oh yes I know what you are talking about. My mother in law is living with my husband and me in a flat with 2 rooms. We have to take care of her all day because she has dementia and a lot of other deseases of old persons like incontinence and fluid in her legs. She doesn't know anymore where she is and calls for us every 10 minutes to ask about where she is and how long she will stay here. Then she is hearing noises and voices that aren't real. She always thinks that there is someone at the door and shouting for her. Sometimes she sees little animals like mice on the floor or birds in the room. She is dressing new 5 to 10 times a day and thereby taring nearly all her clothes out of the wardrobe. She always wants to cook and bake but can't remember any recipe and is falling asleep at the stove what is very dangerous and we always have to look about her what she is doing. Nevertheless she is a very lovely person and we don't want to put her to a retirement home because we know for the reason that she is calling every 5 minutes she would be given tranquilizers there and lose the rest of her mind within a very short time. So we have to take the stress and sorrow all day long.

Oh my goodness you have a huge challenge to cope with. Coping with dementia is hard enough but when there is a host of other issues, it must be so difficult to deal with each day. I really feel for you and hope you somehow find time for yourselves. Caring can be very isolating for some people. It must be terrifying for your mother-in-law to be seeing and hearing things that aren’t real - that is just awful. I know of someone else with dementia who sees lots of people in his flat that aren’t actually there. I agree about not putting your mother-in-law in a retirement home. We feel exactly the same. I think people can die quite quickly in those places without their family to care for them. So many people have asked me why we don’t put my mum into a home. There is no point because I wouldn’t sleep for worrying about how she is being treated or if they are feeding her good food. It sounds as if you are giving your mother-in-law a very good life, even though it must be hard in two rooms: We must all keep going and doing what needs to be done because our relatives need us. Much love to you and thank you so much for reaching out. 🙏💕
