Just to give you a sense of how early in development this is: First Playable comes months and months before Alpha and year(s) before Beta. As the name suggests it is the first playable rendition of the game. FPs are never art or feature complete in any way. They're basically a small vertical slice/proof of concept kind of thing.

They can call it "Not even Playable" for all i care, there was no reason to show this shallow gameplay and the fact that they were confident enough to show it is proof of how bad of a studio Ninja Theory is. +Diego Duran Agreed, Ninja Theory hasn't made many games so far, but those that they have made were all amazing. I am a bit disappointed though that they seem to be making a very serious game with this, I prefer games that are a bit more lighthearted and don't have such a dark and depressing atmosphere (I absolutely loved what they did with the atmosphere in DmC for example, just the right balance between mysterious, often serious but still never too depressing). However, I'm still looking forward to seeing more of Hellblade, so far it does look interesting, and it's Ninja Theory, so I trust that it will be good.

Indeed, it will be better if they intend to develop a new combat system or changing the angle of camera while open. Generally, the game graphic is fine around 7-8/10 as FIrst playable

Games like this - where you explore the vastness of nature is just amazing. Alot of people moan bout graphics, framerate, plot etc. But visually its like watching a painting of fantasy art come to LIFE. Its wonderous almost. I remember looking through concept arts of many games from ps1 - 4 and now I think I can safely say games had come a long way.

Well, the combat does look boring. You have the psychosis bit down though! Seeing flashes of people out of the corner of your eye, the constant voices of everything that is going wrong or could go wrong, not being able to "look at yourself" without an internal battle (which does feel like you're talking to yourself)... hits home. PTSD induced psychosis, you nailed it.
This game looks extremely unsettling in all the right ways, even the combat looks up close and uncomfortable, don't know if that's a design flaw and even though I don't like it much it seems to work for the atmosphere this game gives off, I'm pretty excited for this

The camera could use a little work, it feels like we are always accompanying the character but it doesn't react like someone who has empathy for her. What I mean by that is when the character falls, she gets in a more defenseless position and the camera is basically the when it could take some distance to indicate she is out of our reach. also it would be nice to focus a little more on the enemy without shaking so much. It would probably highlight her (great) animations even more.
Understanding where they are in production, I can't wait to see how it will turn out later on. It's GOING to look so much better. I'm particularly interested in the Senua's plight. Judging by the end of the video, it seems like she's going to have a hard time.

This will definitely be one of the best games released this year, and I can't wait to buy it and play it. Looks promising. I am aware that this is early stage, but still wanna point out that I hope those arent the final combat animations. Wanna see them more fluid and smooth and big variety of moves and tricks. After all the game will be focused on combat. Also some finishing moves that are performed by you and your enemies wont be bad way to end a fight. So fingers crossed.

I'm still excited for it but i don't like how ninja theory animates it's combat, those too fast movements plus dramatic pauses in the attacks moves. They should make it flow better to give you that good sensation when swinging the sword

It's a targeting system. You can only attack on person at a time and it sort of locks on.
I hope there will be few multi-enemies battles
Love the overall theme, some of the concept art is absolutely icnredible. Could be an amazing game, I just hope the devs don't rush it.
