I am very impressed by your generosity, Austin. It's the best Trogly's Guitar Show! You restored my confidence in the good in humanity! You're a gem in life!
@Tobias B. I dunno, that lick does allow us to hear how the pickups sound with muted strumming. It's just a demo and not a talent contest. Also, that muted strumming shows that guitar has "Gristle" as Greg Kock would say!
This was a very generous thing you did and that is very commendable. It's not every day a person would drop that kind of money and for it to be for charity and then try to sell it for the same charity is some next level integrity. We need more people like you in the world.
Just to clear things up - the 100k unboxing episode was edited by an outside company as a trial run. This was my editing as are nearly all but 2 other videos at this time
Love this episode. My only issue with the guitar was when you pulled off the pickguard that spot where the finish didnt stick looked so out of place on a guitar this nice. I mean maybe they thought nobody would take the pickguard off but still on a 15000 $ masterbuilt guitar I think missing something like that is wrong.
Yeah, I'm sure their resources at home were limited as compared to the actual Custom Shop. I agree with you though, putting the pickgaurd over that finish blem sounds like something I'd do!
The issue with a burl top is that it is actually sort of bad wood to begin with. You have to be careful with it other wise it can be a real headache to work with. More than like what happened there is as they were building the guitar that chunk fell out and there's really not much you can do about it other than starting over or putting a pickguard on it.
clear epoxy would stabilize it and even though it's a tiny pickguard it's in the right spot and it's replaceable to keep you from burrowing into wood, especially softer or inconsistently grained wood like some types of burl or spalting.
Burl comes from cutting through knots. That spot is a knot that fell out, and they filled it in, but it wouldn't take finish. That pick guard is gorgeous, as is the burl top. Consummate professionals to be able to take a flaw and cover it and have the result look better than if the flaw wasn't there.
as one of the "crew" that is normally employed in the industry, i can tell you that following your donation would be wise due to the fact that 90 % of the charitable intent collected, gets squandered on those that do not have the need and those that are greed stricken.
Hey trogly i love your channel man! I've been a subscriber for 2 years. You helped identify guitars and taught me alot about guitars. Thanks man keep up the work!

It's no surprise that is one of the best sounding Telecasters you've reviewed (IMHO). Dang I'm loving the fret work on that neck, each fret looks perfect!
Hit up Shishkov on IG, most of the builders there respond - I follow them and they respond to comments, too. I've asked several luthiers questions on IG; they're all pretty much completely interactive with fans/customers.
The ending part of the description was mixed in with the Tamo Strat. I just read it word for word to poke some fun at this tele being called a strat. I don’t believe this was ever meant to have a string tree
Yeah Austin messed up everyone by jokingly reading off the mixed up description. I'm assuming the tuning machines are staggered like the Eric Johnson Strat (Best strategy for the $$ period) and therefore eliminate those half-assed designed catch points known as string trees. Which aren't for tension btw... just to make sure the skinny strings stay in the nut slots where they belong.
Unfortunately i can't buy ime of those i'm swampped in bills but i loved the charity and made some contribution to them. Hope this Tele finds a very generous and nice home as well.
I love that top it almost looks like it's made out of leather. The neck? Well, let's just say that the neck is amazingly beautiful! Nice looking guitar, hopefully you are able to sell it for the $20k price and get even more added to that charity.
You can tell Yuri Shishkov's work from a mile away. I could tell it from the thumbnail. Though your definition of which one is fanciest is a little off in my opinion. Burled redwood top with silver filigree, inlaid emeralds (or what appear to be emeralds), and engraved parts... all by Yuri and his apprentice. Okay so you just said in the video that it's green diopside crystals and diamonds, an WHOA that upclose image of the neck was SICK. That redwood burl looks like an old worn piece of leather, and that extremely well placed piece of green felt around the pickup really make this thing give off the aura of a handmade antique single shot rifle or over and under shotgun by Holland&Holland or any of the top makers. I feel thats what they were kind of going for. It would be cool as hell to see some blueing or case hardening on some of the hardware. Also I hope everyone takes a moment to stare and appreciate what they did with the pickguard. They could've easily done something with the pick guard that would've greatly detracted from the custom feel and overall cohesiveness of this amazing work of art, but instead they pulled out their hats an elegantly understated design and placement for the guard that honestly deserves a tip of the cap. A true work of art! Thanks for documenting this one. They left out the disc string tree.
I liked the sound (your playing is very good) and it looks amazing. Great video. If I had the moola, I’d invest in it. A one off, beautiful trim and signed all over, can’t go wrong! Thanks Trogly, another fantastic episode!
I usually don’t like the really extravagant custom shop builds but the dark burl top really looks like aged tanned leather and the 12th fret inlay look really pretty
Yeah, gotta be careful cause things can and do happen. That said, he's pulled guitars apart before that cost a lot more than $15K. The thing is, how many chances do you get to look under the hood on a guitar like that. I would 100% take it apart too!
Some Fenders have such a good work on design, something that Gibson sometimes lacks, Fender make much crazier designs than Gibson, and the goods are stunning, and Im a Gibson player over Fenders.
that fender Stratocaster with the tiger stripe fretboard was my favourite, some of them were reasonably priced in all fairness, whoever got them got collectable pieces now I guess And can ask a premium selling price if you need to sell them,1 of a kind is a cool attribute for collecting
Great video! I try not to be too negative these days, but I think that case is super underwhelming for a guitar of that magnitude... The inside looks great, but I agree with you; it'd have been nice if they did something more special for such a unique build. Having said that, though I'm not a Tele fan, I love the woods chosen! They look so good! I am a major burl fan, and I also like the pickup selector switch.
Fender should reach out to you to do videos for their special guitars. Otherwise we really would never know from a crappy photo on the fender website how beautiful these type of instruments are. Nice work.
Burl looks best in natural oil finish. High gloss would be too much. The green stuff in the pickup cavity is green flock. There is a process called flocking where you spray an adhesive down, then blow the flock (green stuff) into the cavity onto the adhesive. Flock comes in many colors. Process is used often in furniture building. I think it looks best with the pick guard as well. I wasn’t sure about the shape at first, then it grew on me.
The neck pickup pocket doesn't have felt in it, it's called flocking. You coat the cavity with a glue, then there's this puffing tool that uses air to puff the fibers at the glue. Let it set up a couple minutes and blow out the fibers that didn't stick and you're done. That's why you can see Yuri's stamp- there is no solid piece of anything over it so the flocking fibers conform to the stamp.
VERY nice! I must agree with you tho, it should definitely have gloss up top. Face of body AND headstock to camo the waterslide decal and the satin everywhere else. Dig it. And jsmi4190 is absolutely right bro, your editing is WAY up.
Where are you Trogly!!! Hope you are okay man. A day without a trogly episode isnt normal anymore. Love you brother. Hope all is good. Rock stars watch you dude hehe

I always like to flip the control plate around and swap the volume and tone controls to do volume swells. like Bill Kirtchens does to his Tele's. he is the lead guitarist for Commander Cody of "Hot Rod Lincoln" fame. however on this Tele it would have required a custom made control plate? but it could have gave these master builders an additional place to do some more of that fancy ingraving. but maybe that would be a little over the top? after all that's why they are master builders and I'm not. I have always been a huge fan Tele's especially pine Tele's but as for Strats meh. this is a pretty cool Tele. and most important it's for a great charity. and it's AWESOME that you are also getting involved in such a great charity.

Hope it sells quick to raise some extra bucks for the guys 'n gals. Thanks mate for your entertaining & educational YT channel.
I’ve played a couple of the Paisley signature Teles and they’re just feather light. I think they have paulownia bodies, they’re nearly neck heavy. They sound very good, nearly like light swamp ash and are definitely good for those who like lightweight guitars.
Putting a plate on the back of the scratchplate is a common thing with some builders, to add extra support to stop warping or movement of the scratchplate.
They kept the pickguard small to cover up as little as possible of that beautiful wood, it also keeps you from tearing into the top and if it wears you can replace it easily, preserving the integrity of the base instrument.
I'm going to stay positive. I like the back and sides of the body a lot. I like the look of the two knobs. I love the ash tray bridge cover! I too wonder if that was not done by Fender. (If you need to hear any legitimate negatives, let me know) ha ha
#14!! - That military green Strat would look better with a white scratch plate. The 15 grand Tele is kinda ruined (for me) with that bad scratch plate. Rockable - but only mildly.
Those Josefina pickups are **BRIGHT!** There were a couple of times that it got ice-picky. I don't know what pedals you used or the amp settings, but it was getting a bit harsh.

They kept the pickguard small to cover up as little as possible of that beautiful wood, it also keeps you from tearing into the top and if it wears you can replace it easily, preserving the integrity of the base instrument.
DAAAAAANG Trog, 15 gs aint no joke. You da man bro!!
That’s a really beautiful guitar and a great charity to support.
One of the rubber grommets from the neck pickup is split and it doesn't spring up the pickup anymore. You should have asked them for a replacement.
Love that pick guard shape. Could you trace that and post the dimensions?
Spt Clark looks almost like a Cabronita Tele guard...
Glad you went for it!! Great video
As a wise man once said, LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE ROAD CREW.
Congratulations on your purchase it will be a heirloom for u at 20.
Im not a country music guy but tbh i really like the Brad Paisley tele, its pretty and actually a piece of legit gear. Neat.
Dang that korina start was awesome.
that one really catch my eye!
Good Job Austin. Keep up the good work.
That Tele “partscaster” is epic! I agree, the headstock sticker is way cheesy. BTW, That was a really cool riff at the end 🤘
11:46 "...and disc string tree" - but there's no string tree! (and yeah, strat part was funny)
Sick guitar bro! Damn!
Very rare to own ANY #1 of a guitar or anything else for that matter. Very cool. Nice review.
Is it just me? I (kinda) see the word Fender in those squiggles, and with the heart, maybe it says,
I love Fender?
Trogly, you're THE man!
I'm going to stay positive. I like the back and sides of the body a lot. I like the look of the two knobs. I love the ash tray bridge cover! I too wonder if that was not done by Fender. (If you need to hear any legitimate negatives, let me know) ha ha
Not a chance I would sell this guitar.
#14!! - That military green Strat would look better with a white scratch plate. The 15 grand Tele is kinda ruined (for me) with that bad scratch plate. Rockable - but only mildly.
that is stunning
Those Josefina pickups are **BRIGHT!** There were a couple of times that it got ice-picky. I don't know what pedals you used or the amp settings, but it was getting a bit harsh.
looks nice sounds awesome
Eelectross is pretty dope, tbh!
