this song is real depressing once you finally understand he meaning behind kendricks verse. The real meaning is kendrick playes a lookout and sees a veteran coming back to the hood with a gun on him and assumes he is an ex convict coming home from the penitentiary and tells his people to kill him but the veteran escapes death with a bullet in his leg and once they figure out he was a veteran when its too late, kendrick tried to writte his wrong in which "walk on by" is a euphimism of kendrick trying to get over a past mistake

This song is spectacular...... Kendrick's verse really exhibits the human race's prejudice thought process, and why we shouldn't be so quick to judge people without first knowing what they have done or been through.. but also explains WHY we are prejudice and how we grow up too early and are forced into thinking this way.
