I use this for my leopard gecko tank is that ok?
It's now 68 degrees in my room. Yet this thing gives a temperature of 74 or 75 on every surface.
After a while it’s no longer accurate. Yet there’s no way for adjustment!?

Just got mine and it's off by 7-8°

How do I turn it on
I got this for my bearded dragon's cage and the little cheap gun I previously had was completely off!!! This gun was perfect and also let me check the bathwater which is important to not be too cold they'll suffer or too hot you burn their skin!!! Thank you for saving my little guy through temps

Replaced battery and unit reads 147F. How can I recalibrate?
Just to let you know, it is not bu-in it is but-tin. Sounds funny saying it with out the "T"s.
It doesn't sound "funny" and he's not saying "bu-in". And just to let you know, it's not "but-tin", either. Nobody enunciates the Ts separately, and many dialects of English use a glottal stop in place of a T in that position (in which case it's "bʌʔn̩" or “buh'n”). I don't know if your comment was the result of ignorance or intolerance, but I reckon it's probably both.
@@Olive_O_Sudden Yes he is saying the word button with out the T's and yes everyone says both T's when they say it. It is two syllables with two T's. Here is some ignorance for you, go fork yourself!
It is not calibrated. Body temp readings are consistently 86-89 degrees F.
I think it might be dangerous for body, its not made for that
"At room temperature, a person with 2 square meters of body surface area must (when nude) have a skin temperature of almost 32 C when the air is still. This is actually a pretty reasonable estimate."
