Currency movements are extremely difficult to predict, and unfortunately most people that try will lose their money. South Africans need to learn to save and invest first, rather than playing with derivatives.
Sure, I'm by no means saying that low income groups are uneducated, please don't get me wrong. However, they have more to lose should it go wrong, they can't just write it off as a wealthy person may. So they have more incentive to take high risk, but their lives are ruined should they lose it all. In my opinion, people should rather be encouraged to save as this is a massive problem in SA. People should be taught to invest their savings, in equities etc, first. Tying to predict the market is one thing, trying to predict currency movements is a different ball game, with more uncertainty. Great for him, well done. Though it is irresponsible to teach low income groups about currency trading, with an idea that it could solve their financial woes. Currency movements are extremely difficult to predict, and unfortunately most people that try will lose their money. South Africans need to learn to save and invest first, rather than playing with derivatives.
Sure, I'm by no means saying that low income groups are uneducated, please don't get me wrong. However, they have more to lose should it go wrong, they can't just write it off as a wealthy person may. So they have more incentive to take high risk, but their lives are ruined should they lose it all. In my opinion, people should rather be encouraged to save as this is a massive problem in SA. People should be taught to invest their savings, in equities etc, first.
Tying to predict the market is one thing, trying to predict currency movements is a different ball game, with more uncertainty. Not even the top traders get it right all the time, actually very few get it right.

Forex Trading is not for the fainted hearted. There people who feel this is gambling, however there is a big difference, trading involves strategy whereas gambling involves alot of luck. The reason why many traders fail is because they want instant success and therefore chase trades, patience is key. If you cant take a loss while trading, it's not for you. Losses are part of the game, balancing profits and losses is only way to succeed. People say this is a scam because they lost their money, they jump in without doing their homework and developing their own strategy.
