The stock bike loves the taller gearing so you’ll have zero issues with your motor
That’s a nice setup you’ve got there
Hi there, not heard from you for awhile, looking forward to you next update, hope Everton is going well
Will be doing a new ride video soon then a full dyno report video
Following your build with great interest, looking to add the Revelrey Racing bits and Big Bore kit to mine soon. Would be interested in seeing behind the side panels to look at the removal of the air filter box and breather mod 😎
Will do a video showing you what it looks like
There's a huge hole with some stuff left rattling around in it which needs restraining. Definitely needs something covering it up ( I might see if the airbag can be modified and put back in for that, or just some thick black plastic).
Good Show Mr Orange! I was wondering if we were going to get a look b4 crimbo. Sounds lovely, will be good to see the results after run-in and proper mapping. Wonder how the extra capacity will affect the mpgs too.Once done part of me wonders what going up a tooth on the front sprocket would be like on the old Motorways. Although I appreciate that may seem counter productive. Anyway the thing sounds beastly and wonderful. Be careful out there in this time of short days and poor conditions and thanks for the dogging spot tips! 🙂
I’m not noticing much difference at the moment mpg, but I am keeping the revs down! Will update once I can give her some revs.
the bike sounds and rides great. Love it
Thanks, I love it too!
Thought about doing this too ,but so much work needed nee upgraded clutch, head cylinder pistons 💥 might as well get a t100
Ever Power wheelied a T100? Don't think so.
Too heavy....
Are you going to Dyno test that set up?
You're about a week ahead of me. I'm getting mine dyno'd up to 5000rpm on Tuesday, do the run in, then proper dyno and tuning the map.
Note - In Australia we have Unleaded in 91, 95 & 98. We use 98 for the 865 kit (around A$1.85-1.95 a litre currently).
The Revelry map you'd be using (same one I paid for) needs to be modified for Powertronic firmware 1.22 or higher (current firmware version is 1.23). There's a pdf on the Powertronic site (linked below the firmware downloads, on the Downloads page) that explains the changes that need to be made to the map. I've checked this with Revelry and Powertronic and both say to make the changes mentioned in the pdf. Step 7 though, set (or leave) the value at 1 or higher. Do all the changes in the pdf and save it to the bikes map.
There's a bloke here who just got the 865 & cam (not heads or 40mm) and used the same map and it was not running right. After those changes were made it is ok. He may not even dyno his,.
That bloke thinks he might be using what for our builds would be the economy map (general info for others - the Powertronic maps files have two maps in them, so you can have a ‘power’ map and an ‘everyday’ map and easily switch between them).
I think I might be the guy you're talking about 😄 Yes I can confirm that you definitely need to make those changes, mine was getting what felt like a fuel cut under load until I worked through them with Powertronic and realised my config parameters weren't right for my version of firmware. Check what firmware your powertronic is running and change the revelry maps accordingly if you're running a 1.22 or newer (you should update to 1.23 anyway). I don't think it's too crazy not to dyno it, even talking with revelry on the phone they said that if it's running pretty well you don't need to. As Will told me, "the best dyno in the world is a quarter of a mile long". Dyno time is also quite expensive and relies on you finding someone who actually knows what they're doing.
What sort of performance are you expecting and getting say 0-100kph and top speed approx?
Have been considering this in Oz too.
This looks so so good 👍
It depends where you are in Australia! That is like saying Europe is Iceland. Or Southern Spain. We are talking 5000 kilometers here! Directly North to South!
What is the cost of big bore ?
When it rains, water will drip off the frame and tank onto the air filters, then the bike will cough and splitter to a halt, I did the same years ago, with a suzuki Gsx750es
What do you reckon 0-100kph and top speed would be after the upgrade? realistically
Just noticed that you have a different crankcase filter arrangement to mine. You have one down on the crankcase. Do you also have one connected between the pod filters?
I have a hose come up from the crankcase, which meets a hose coming from a spot between the pod filters, joins the first one with a T piece, then the small filter is back where the airbag was.
Fancy a ride out myself!, what bars are they please - wanting something like on my Interceptor, are they standard cables ? TIA
Sir amazing bike sound also 💖
heating issue any problem with this bore kit
Not had a single issue so far
Would you not get better throttle response throughout the range by drawing consistent, both still and temperature, air from a "box" vs turbulent/irratic air from those open filters?
As Revelry Racing developed all of the kit without it, I would suggest no you wouldn't? But I'm not an engine builder/tuner but a user/abuser! 😂
Yes you would, it's more about "laminar flow", a smooth uninterrupted flow of air will ALWAYS be better, using a filter setup with incorporated velocity stacks will make this setup work more efficently, especially at lower throttle settings. Revelry only race 1/4 mile where the benefit of stacks doesn't really matter because it's all WOT, wide open throttle. When air goes through those small filters it tumbles, this is less than ideal and the very reason performance bikes ALL have velocity stacks to smooth out the incoming air {Laminar Flow}, this isn't a new phenomenon, it's industry best practice.....
Which one is better for this big bore kit setup, the Powertronic or DynoJet Power Commander?
I’ve got the powertronic ecu as that’s what Revelry Racing use
Who does big bore conversions in the states?
Early in my 2019 trip in my Hymer I was in a Dorset car park at night trying to get a kip and some bugger started flashing their headlights. I assume it was to entice me out for a bit of dogging. For those not in the UK, this is a peculiarly British habit of communal shagging in cars with an audience (or even participants) of strangers. Very sordid.
It will be interesting to see how it compares to an 865 Bonneville
Well you can’t power wheelie an 865 Bonny and it will be at least 30-40kg heavier than this bike.
How much did it affect your gas mileage after adding the kit?
Haven’t noticed any major difference if I’m honest
I have noticed no change in fuel economy with my 865
@@MrJulianneave what all did you change in addition to the big bore kit?
Sounds real good as of write now it seems to be Throughty with a lot more torte. Lemay. Nelson. Vancouver Washington northwest. U S A.
Top speed test 865 cc
What tires did you put on your interceptor?
Continental road attack 3CR tyres . 110 front and 150 rear
Any cold tyre problems with the CR tyres?
@@Slb2453 not in the slightest, warm up lovely. They were made to be used without tyre warmers
They were my choice, people on the Enfield forums bitched at me about them. Are the bigger sizes an improvement?
@@Slb2453 I think they are awesome, really suit the bike in the bigger sizes.
That crank case breather is a monster.
so how does it go against a big bike?
Goes very nicely with the new engine mods. It will be fully run in soon then we shall see how it really goes!
It certainly sounds good.
Sounds amazing riding her
Been trying to post a comment to link to a FB group I set up to discuss the 'Royal Enfield Big Bore'. The comments keep getting removed. I'm not sure if it's UA-cam doing that, or you 🙂 If it's you just like this comment and I'll stop trying.
Think it must be the link it’s not liking. Send me the link on the royal Enfield owners forum. Genuinely interested in joining in
@@Agent01Orange Must be because UA-cam is owned by Google and they don't want to publicise FB. I don't know the UK RE forum. What's it called? (be good if you could post about it on there). If you search FB for that group name you'll find it.
Cool
Sounds "TIGHT!"
Sounds better in person
360 p?? ☹
Oops uploaded it wrong!! Im uploading it again
AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! L O V E
Nice vid but not quite sure why you are so obsessed with dogging????
