- ( www.TFLtruck.com ) The 2015 Ford F-250 Power Stroke Diesel put out 860 lb-ft of torque. That's the most torque of any heavy duty truck in its class. But what about the rest of the new 2015 Ford F-250. Does it up the ante when it comes to the big boy pickups. In this first drive 4K video review Nathan and Roman get behind the wheel of Ford's newest Super Duty pickup and find out if Ford has raised the bar in the HD truck class.

As a worker in the construction trade, those "cheap" plastics are perfect. Easy to clean mud, dust, grease are things that set into fabrics. The "cheap" plastic doesn't soak it up, wipes right off and away you go. My soft touch ram interior has to be professionally detailed, or the dirt smears, stains and starts to stink! All praise Ford and the working class!!!
I hate it when people rev the trucks up as soon as they turn it on. You need to let the oil run through the engine for a while about 10-15 secs before you should even drive. You can damage something revving the truck up when it's cold like that.
+Andres Rivas the only thing that bothers me worse is turning it off at the top of the rev like so many youtube videos of people showing off their delete kits. it hurts to watch.
Andres Rivas more like 10-15 minutes. especially a diesel
Man, me too! These boys just cannot start a truck without raving the engine! I'd never buy one they tested.
The truck was already warm if you see the temperature gauge man.
I just hate people that rev their trucks up in general. I don’t see the point.
Excellent review so thanks for posting. This is exactly the kind of information I've been looking for and I look forward to reviewing your video of the competitors comparison.
Thanks for posting the video in 4k resolution. It looks great.
I miss the old clattery diesels
Hey guys that's awesome can't wait for the others!!!
Just traded my 2011 Tundra Rock Warrior in for a 2015 Chevy 3500 HD 6.0 with an Airflo dump bed. Lovin it time to get some work done.
Nice truck & nice review
I love this truck. I don't mind the front design not getting an extreme makeover, I am still loving it. The brake lights could use a redesign.
Get tired of the negative comments. It's the future... trucks have luxury stuff now. Big deal.
justhes yea exactly, its not like they don't make the work truck editions anymore. They still do!! Everybody thinks they only make luxury everything now. And if I had this type of money for a truck hell yea ill buy it.
Good review as always guy's.
Little Beaver State Park...I stopped by the Day you Guys were doing all these tests,it was pretty cool seeing how it all happens...
My dad has an old 7.3 f250 as a work truck. That thing is incredibly loud every time you drive it just glug glug glug glug glug glug but you know what that truck is amazing and has been for the years that he has owned it
That. is. awesome. The 1166 nm on torque and 440 horsepower from factory. What would happen if this things ECU were updated and the turbocharger pressures were more higher..? And with biodiesel. Perfect Truck.
We need a F250 Powerstroke Ike gauntlet!!!! ASAP!!!
Companies always have to show off the top of the line like the Platinum, LTZ, Denali, Laramie Longhorn, etc. Should be shown with the lower end versions, the XLT, the LT, the SLTs, etc. Most people that buy these are using them for work, those buying the upscale may use for work but it's mostly to show off as a toy
Forgot to add . Got me a harbor freight trailer now . Fills in pretty well for a pick up . Cost $200. And I don't have to drag the extra weight around everywhere I go.
Crazy how this is already 10 years old!!!!! 😂
Did you guys get to tow with the f250 if so are you guys posting a video about it?
Hey you guys come back to WV give me a shout. I live a little more south in the state than where you filmed this but Ill take you guys out to dinner and talk trucks.
You're in my neck of the woods now! Where are you guys in the Mountain State?
Love this truck!!
I have a 2015 f-350 fx4 lariat. Best truck I ever bought
Did you guys ever take an f250 of this model up the ike?
people are constantly complaining about the ford interior. i personally love those big chunky knobs that i can turn with gloves and the hard plastic dash that can eaisely be cleaned after i get in the truck covered in mud from what ever tractor i was working under or what ever cattle i was rounding in the rain. im sorry but ford truly is the only company that still builds a truck for working.
The BEST 3/4 ton truck on the market!! You can't go wrong with a Super Duty.
Got to drive one at work today...lol this n the 6.2 Silverado are the baddest trucks in America ✌️
Hi folks. Just bought the 2015 F250 Lariat with the 6.7. Only issue so far is that it sounds like a dang 18 wheeler taking off. All I hear is fan up until the turbo spools up then it settles down some. After watching this video and him taking off and then kinda punching it at one point, I dont hear the fan like in mine. If im in a position where I need to pass someone and I nail it, it just sits on its ass and all I hear is fan and high rpm's. I would love for someone to comment as to this possible issue as I havent gone to any ford threads yet. Thanks!
Can your hear the turbo on a stock Ford F-250 2015?
Do you know if they do a right hand drive version
Nice rig. Bring on the Ike Gauntlet...
is the screen the same of explorer 2012 or 2013?
When is the f350 video coming out?
I would really love to have one.. but I don't need the platinum edition. Just give me the basic f250 diesel and I would be more than happy!
+wantsanewvehicle I was on a site and saw something about 'test drive any new ford for a $50 amazon gift card'.. so I printed it out, and went to my local ford dealership. Go big or go home, right? 2016 f250 lariat diesel .. $63k :'( lol. They didn't go with me and the guy literally said 'take it for as long as you'd like'. So, I took it for about 45 minutes and put 23 miles on it. Wanted/was going to take it longer, but I needed to get back home lol. I bet he was quite sad and got a talking to by his boss when I got back to the dealership and pulled out the paper and didn't buy the truck haha.
Super nice truck
in wine red it looks great !!
Great video! Was just wondering what's the difference between the F250, F350 and F450? I'm from the UK so I don't know so much about trucks
The F-250 and F-350 are almost identical and priced within $1000 of each other. The F-250 has a GVWR 10,000 lbs (the max in Class 2), while the F-350 can vary up-to 14,000 lbs (the max in Class 3) mainly because it can be optioned with dual rear wheels (not available in the F-250).
The F-450 has a GVWR of exactly 14,000 lbs (keeping it in Class 3). It comes pre-configured for maximum towing, the dual rear wheels, 6.7 L diesel, 4WD, and the 4.30 axle ratio all come standard. The F-450 will cost about $3000 more than a similarly equipped F-350, and will be able to tow almost 5,000 lbs more because of the upgraded front axle, wheels, chassis, and suspension.
Collectively these Ford heavy duty trucks are called *Super Duty*
Oh, cheers for the help in understanding it man, much appreciated! Are the different classes to do with regulations or tax breaks etc?
Road tolls, insurgence rates, vehicle registration fees, and there are some communities where _"Commercial Trucks"_ are restricted (usually Class 4 and up, but sometimes Class 3 trucks fall in this category).
Ahh, interesting. I thought It was just a naming scheme followed by Ford, GM and Ram. Thanks very much for explaining it
There is a colloquial naming scheme still followed by Ford, GM and Ram.
F-150 / 1500 series (1/2 ton)
F-250 / 2500 series (3/4 ton)
F-350 / 3500 series (1-ton)
TFL Truck drinking game: Shots every time he says big. lol
Best looking truck
Where can I get the 1,000lbs in mats
I am a Chevy guy, and to be honest I hate for trucks just because I do not like them personally. I will have to admit it, I am falling in love with this particular truck!!
4:08 didn't put down the other part of the step, cause their is a foot wall on the step he didn't put up.
I just got one wish me luck
+TheIrfanxz44 drove mine off the lot sept 11 2015. i absolutely love it, hopefully you do too!
Good for you. These trucks are very expensive but if bought for your business the Gov. will help offset that price.
+cell pat sticker Price was 64k I got it for 58k with rebates
and 15k down payment
Look up PowerStrokeHelp. and watch all the Bills video about the 6.7L and you might want to get it dealerproof. get rid all that aftertreatment crap. thats what kills diesel.
Why so much hate on everyday people driving this? So sports cars should only be for driving enthusiasts? And boats only for trade fishermen? Who cares what people drive...
+Sean Snyder I want one!!
Gotta say, these trucks must be good because all I see at jobs sites, landscapers, fire companies is ford trucks. Work trucks, they must be doing something right.
Loud exhaust FTW
Question. If the f250 is 55k and up how much is a f450?
Your first born.
The Platinum is a waste of money, All it adds is special leather seats and an appearance package. I am happy with my fully loaded 2014 Ultimate Lariat. I am going to add a tune to match the power of the new PSD and I might try to get the new grill. And these came down in price because I payed $65k for mine.
does it have bluetooth?
2015 chevy high country is my choice hands down the best hd but this is a good looking truck too
Surprised this model doesn't have clearance lights, interesting!
Maybe it's because the F-250 isn't as wide as the F-350 shown at the end of the video with dual rear wheels.
They are an $55 optional extra on the F-250
Kristopher Cline If you buy it from the factory yes its a 55.00 add on, if not its something stupid like 1300.00!
don't rev it too much before it blows up like all the other powerstrokes after 7.3 L....
Beautiful truck.
Engine still needs to be proven. New turbo and injectors for 2015.
I love the new 6.7 engine and the body style that they put on in 2012 to now. But I HATE the emissions DPF exhaust! I love the sound of diesels and this thing sounds like a gas engine... :( First thing I'm doing when I get one is doing a turbo back 5 inch straight pipe.
I just purchased this truck
anything you put behind it it will pull
That Platinum looks like a city truck. I wouldn't take that into the woods during huntin season, wood hauling etc! I guess its for you city boys out there.
2:50 do they make a manual moon roof? lol
So has this replaced the king ranch?
Nope. The platinum is the highest trim level. The King Ranch is the second highest.
Nope, they still have the king ranch, its a step below the plat.. I actually always loved the king ranches better :)
we might give this one a try since it uses a new 6.7 engine we did have an old 6.0 and it was a nightmare traded it for a Chevy but its my dads and RELIABLE AF!!! HE CRASHED IT TWICE AND WE BEAT IT UP AND NO PROBLEMS Now the 6.0 we babied it and $6000 in repairs in 3 months but this will be for my mom cause obviously fords not meant for hard work we want a diesel but most likely this one cause its quiet its what my mom likes
So whats the point of the F-350 if the F-250 can now do anything it can? lol.
That being said, the F-250 is probably my most favorite of the F series. Go anywhere, do anything ability, and not a floppy mess like the F-150 or F-350.
They sag so much when towing on the 250 compared to the chevy 2500 (owned both). Chevy 2500 handles a levels so much better under load
why the engine revving while standing still?
So you can hear how it sounds? It's not hurting it.
Wv. Hell yeah.
what is the real world mpg of the 2014 6.7l?
my experience with my 2012 and 2013 were empty 16.8 mpg and towing 8-10mpg (15,000#) also @ 6500ft above sea level.
this isn't as bad as i thought...
I regularly get 18-19 MPG highway in my 2012 F-250. But to be fair, it is a single cab, regular bed 4WD. However it has a Knapheide service bed, as opposed to a standard bed.
does some one know the millage of the 2011 supercab short bed?
I have to get one that is made befor 2012, because the taxes in Germany getting every Model year higher and higher.
Nice truck but will this out tow the new ram?? And yes am a ram guy
It only has like 10 ft lbs more. So they'll be pretty much the same. Both great, reliable trucks. :)
masoroo818 The PSD has 440HP vs. Cummins' 350HP
True, but that's really only going to matter when it comes to how fast you want to get up to speed.
Josh McCarthy HO cummins has 385hp. I know still not much, but theres a difference.
It probably won't out tow a ram as I believe cummins has a step above a power stroke, However it's a nicer truck in my opinion.
he didnt even open the liftgate step all the way XD
I wonder why Ford Haters come here to look at FORD TRUCKS and say negative stuff in the comments.. if you look in my history the only Three gm product will be there is the 2005 Yukon Tahoe and escalade, and dodge.. the 2000 ram 2500 HD and The 2006 Durango and Aspen.. the Rest Is Ford Ford Ford
When u have a powerstroke
You know your going to the hospital
@mtrujillo1973
It was a joke mate
Cuanto cuesta una de estas
I'm in my truck everyday of my life I don't mind if it's nice inside.
7.3 power stroke is the best motor ever
As per usual American cars, even modern cars like this one, has an interior that is similar to a 1982 Russian Lada... supplied with a small LCD.
I'm thinking about trade my 2013 Tacoma TRD off road pkg
Diju George you are not thinking.
I would hope that 1000 pounds in the rear that it would feel like it was a nice riding truck.
I Cant understand in this day an age why, when a new truck is on the market, that the MPG is not available...and the 'as you go'.. 20% improvement on the previous model, is an insult to the potential buyer....obviously they have something to hide on the around town & open road details.....Pull yourself together FORD & do the job right!!
I feel like the 10ft-ibs more of torque was just intended to be a slam on the Ram. Another truck by Ford, with a great first impression. I doubt this truck will stand well to the test of time, in comparison to Ram's Cummins and Chevy's Allison. GM and Chrysler actually have proven drive trains at this point. Ford is trying to make their Powerstroke superior by giving big numbers, that the drive train wont handle well in the long term.
Factory ratings have been cheesed as far back as I am aware of. The 5.7L Cummins was a great engine but the 6.7L has had its share of issues, though still a very good engine, but the Chrysler transmission behind it can be very hit-or-miss. The Duramax/Allison combination seems to be very reliable and does the job, but the rest of the truck is still garbage. Ford has been losing their place in the HD truck scene ever since the 6.0 PowerStroke and I don't honestly think that the 6.7 is going to be what they earn back loyal customers with, and this new 6 speed transmission was designed with the Allison as its benchmark. Ford's HD transmissions have been tough going way back, but the Allison is still better in my book. Chevy trucks are still plagued with issues everywhere else (I worked in parts for many years before I finished college and have seen what each truck needs) and newer, 02+ Dodges are quite good aside from the front end, but still have plenty of issues. If you could get the Cummins engine, Allison transmission, Chevy interior, and Ford everything else I think you'd have the perfect truck.
Chrysler's 68RFE HD tranny has been produced since 2006, and generally speeking people have not been having issues with them. 6.7L Cummins issue is its emissions system. I have not had one problem with my 2012 Cummins, but got a recall notice in the mail for its emissions system. My brother has an 03 Ram 2500, and has 150,000 miles on it with no issues so far. My dad had a few Ford HD's, with issues all over the board. Maybe its just my luck, but I think that the 7.3L Power stroke spoiled Ford customers. We have always had bad luck with Ford's HD tranny, which is why i have been loyal to Chrysler these days. Theyr new trannys seem to be pretty bullet proof, but I still and will for a long time keep away from GM.
this didnt age well
Suprised it didn't break a headbolt or blow a head gasket when he reved it up lmao.
Dual alts for what?
Probably for running external equipment.
Modern diesel engines do use quite a bit of electric current while running. They are not the same like the old mechanical pump diesels, where you just need 3 wires to start and shut off.
Which color is that?
+CptAwesome747 looked like the ruby red to me. i have the bronze fire one, which is very close to the color but this looks more purple than mine
+CptAwesome747 Ruby Red is the color of the truck in the video
Matthew Zinicola
Toyota and nissan should consider having a line of 2500 and possibly 3500 trucks so the people who hate domestic cars can buy foreign and simply more reliable trucks even though it dosent matter to me I'd think they should try it once.
Taxes on foreign trucks are killer. I don't know how domestically-built trucks like the newer Tundras are handled, but I know US laws on the matter are made to favor the domestic companies that are buying off the politicians that are writing these laws...
I really doubt Nissan and Toyota still have this superior reliability over everything that they used to have. Cars now a days seem be all about the same.
Ges what fords roll
Give me a luxurious ride with all the power i need. Oh ya.
i wnt 1
All these comments about the cost, wow you can buy a cheap truck or a truck that suits your needs and income. Some people rather have a nice luxury truck over a BMW or other luxury car. If you have the income and money to spend then why not?
You can buy a top of the line truck for $65,000 from another company or you can spend $68,000 on a middle of the road "so, so" truck that doesn't please the consumer as much, and has more potential and more to offer but simply doesn't to keep the price low, yet it's still higher than the most top of the line trucks in other brands with cheap plastic and a poorly designed dash.
You just read the sticker this ain't no review
The newly designed F-250 will be one better truck. 1K pounds lighter due to the usage of aluminum combined with an even more powerful 6.7L diesel the truck will be one towing beast.
I'm just curious what market this truck is targeted for? At $68,000 you gotta be looking at men and women who work and earn a very solid income (i.e., 85k+ a year). I don't know to many truckers or construction workers who earn that much. I can see this truck being purchased by companies & small businesses but I just haven't personally seen a construction worker or trucker with one of these around my area.
The platinum model (this price range) is most likely aimed at older farmers/ranchers that have some money put away and want to spend it on a work truck with some luxuries. Just my guess, but I agree that is *WAY* too much to spend on a truck!
Then they can buy an XLT or XL.
Oilfield workers can afford these kind of trucks. Even guys that just work on rigs or whatever can afford because they get paid good and earn lots of over time.
k3v015Mk sure they make good money but are always working!
construction business owners, tow hauler-5th wheels, ranchers, farmers, landscapers, and retired guys with money. I see them all over and they don't even have a tow hitch in the back
I think this truck will do great interior could use some more work but then again the dodge really does not beet it even though they have cummins but still think ford has them beet.
Bigger frame and body. 350s can't handle it. Tfll truck should do more on the ford f seris
My boss just bought the same truck but black on black and it is amazing the versatility of the power plant starts effertlessy at -35c with no block heater and the a/c seats are sweet in the hot sun 8/10
i could swear you guys are sponsered by ford in someway but yes thes are an amazing truck and i HOPE TO HELL they changed that bearing type in the turbo
4:05
If I can get a xlt or lariat is perfectly fine with me :)
A Lariat is a big step up from the XLT. It gives you every thing they offer. King Ranch, Limited, and Platinum's are Lariats with appearance packages.
Josh McCarthy that's true depends in what type of deal I can find also
I dislike ford trucks but that diesel sounds really aggressive, cannot wait for the next gen Duramax diesel reveiw
Spencer Peterson Speaking of next gen Duramax, check out tfl truck website. I was on there earlier today and saw an article on it, check it out very interesting!
thanks mate I will
just checked it out!!! torque could've been higher 5ftlbs more than ford isnt that impressive should've been like 500hp and 1000ftlbs that would be one hell of a tow rig from factory
Spencer Peterson Yea I was expecting more torque but its still better than the current gen for sure.Oh god yea that would be awesome! Well maybe with these bigger engines will come the return of the 4500 and 5500 that would be awesome!! Its a rumor right now that they will be coming back. Chevy needs to get back in the game with that cuz there defiantly a market for it. Which one do you like better the chevy hd or the gmc hd for 2015? The gmc I like more and more each day but the chevy is still nice. Hard decision
well from what i know gmc is the more luxuriousness truck because with the introduction of the Denali in the sierra, nd the Silverado is the working mans truck no thrills but reliable and i prefer the Chevy. because my second cousin has a '11 duramax 3500 and its quick even with his 24k fifth wheel and with you hearing the rumors about the 4500/5500 they should've never stopped making them because dodge and ford are doing work with there 4500/ f-450 and the 5500/ f-550 out in the field with the construction and emergency vehicles
Hey Ford where do I go to pick up my free 1000lb. Weight boards? I drive a f250 everyday and it is the roughest riding vehicle I have ever driven! Rough like have to slow down on imperfect roadways.
It's a truck, that's what it does. The suspension is designed to have a load in the bed. If you aren't going to use a truck as a truck maybe you should buy a car?
UnsulliedSpy I use it as a truck, it still rides like shit, I had a non Ford Dually before and it didn't ride as bad as the 250 just saying, so don't get butt hurt
Nice truck, but I cant justify spending 60k on a truck..hell i could buy a corvette, nice mustang, or even a Challenger hellcat with that much money. I guess whatever floats your boat.
And what is the 4k quality? Never heard of it.
4k is Ultra High Def.
Chuck Rutler II ohhh ok thanks man.
Wisriverblue's Channel I'll bet you would get the HellCat!
this is platinum models you could buy an XL or XLT super duty with FX4 off-road package with more less price .
the truck is nice but if they dont redo it in the next couple years i can see ford fans getting grumpy. I'm a dodge guy and this truck is nice but what sells it is the history and legend. it has good power and all but not my type of truck. and one thing we all can agree on is the more electronics they load into these, the more the repairs cost in the future. It's pure crap they want $70,000 for this srw, I'm guessing the top of the line F-350 and bottom line F-450 retail between $85,000 and 100,000? pure crap. go buy you a tractor and a trailer for the same price and those are ment to be 500,000+ mile vehicles..
I can promise you the price gap isn't that huge between the 250 and 350 and 450, you can look at the prices right now and they're nowhere nearly that huge. These trucks make a lot more sense than a semi because they'll get better fuel economy, you don't needa CDL to drive them, you can park it in your garage and these will go on for 500k miles, theres million mile powerstrokes out there.
www.trucktrend.com/future/spied/163_1403_caught_2017_ford_super_duty_spyshots/
this is the new one with boxed frame
new models due to roll into showrooms sometime in 2016 as 2017 models
murmaider2 maybe not but Im just sick of seeing brand new trucks costing 50K+.. I'll stick to the old 12 valve or 24V, or heck even the obs 7.3.
besides the electronics and luxary part the 90's diesels are still just as good as the new one. there might be HP diffrences but they all get the job done.
murmaider2 Good point. Don't you need a cdl if your pulling a large amount of weight? I don't really know alot about that
Karsten Jackson Your exactly right. The prices are getting ridiculous. I only wonder where they will be in 5 years. hahaha and I was just thinking the same thing too. If I was a trucker, I would purchase a Mack or International tractor trailer, not a f450, makes sooooo much more scene to me. These engines will can bring you to 300K miles
Didn’t flip the step all the way out.
I feel like the people knocking on the new ones and praising the old have never truly gone long distances in one. The old ones ride like absolute shit, my 99 rides like a stone. The 6.7 with an EGR and DPF delete along with MILD tuning can get over 20 mpg. The emissions don't let these things breath. Get rid of the filtered junk and you have a truck that better than the 7.3.
Swear people only come to these videos to bitch and complain. It's like people look up reviews to talk shit about the competition.
Ford is the only company that hasn't made their trucks look like foreign junk.. The interior is much nicer then the years prior. The second generation 6.7 is a animal, compared to competition.. I'm no mechanic but I've drove the three and in my opinion the Ford is superior and I'm a fan of all three brands.
Sounds restricted to me when they rev it
It Is that's why I like older cars and trucks
