    When I first heard Portnoy left DT, 2 guys immediately came to mind to handle drum duties. Mike Mangini and Bobby Jarzombek. I don!t know why Bobby never tried out for DT.

    • @Signofevil_Smile4theCam
      @Signofevil_Smile4theCam 2 місяці тому +1

      Different reasons. He didn't had time to work into the material properly and he always thought that portnoy will come back. On the other hand, could you imagine how limited Bobby would have been with joining DT?

      I am only really familiar with his Fates Warning material, but you can't go wrong with any of those:
      Darkness in a Different Light (2013)
      Theories of Flight (2016)
      Long Day, Good Night (2020)
      Recommendation for his most inspiring work: Theories of Flight
      I saw him play with Halford back in the day (2000-2001), and I know his Spastic Ink work (with his brother) is probably his most technical stuff. The guy is a beast.

      @@Timotolas Fantastic! It's a great journey! (I like Bobby more than Mark Zonder in Fates Warning, and Zonder was about as close to Neil Peart in style and technique as one could get)
      Enjoy!

      @Signofevil_Smile4theCam 3 місяці тому +1

      I would suggest you start with the straighter stuff he did:
      Riot (especially Thundersteel), Halford and Sebastian Bach.
      Then move towards Juggernaut, Zierler, Arch/Matheos, Fates Warning (since joining them (of course also Mark Zonder (prior Fates Warning drummer) is a beast and in the end you evolve into total madness by listening to Spastic Ink. Of course there are lots of other bands he played for
