Rick; I want to thank you for this Road Trip to Silver Springs. I worked there the summer of 1964 at the Ross Alan Reptile Institute. They were filming scenes for Thunderball (James Bond) that summer and Mr. Alan did some of the swimming in the film, of course he also did some of the diving into the Springs for many Tarzan movies. My job title was, "Rattlesnake Wrangler". I thought that was such a cool title, all it meant was I took a fire hose and flushed out the rattlesnake pit. I got paid and earned a merit badge. Working for Mr. Alan was such an honor, I wish you had told more about him and the Reptile Institute and the Zoo Park that was at the Springs during that time frame. For years I have told my family about working there as a kid, next summer we are planning a return to Florida, the Army moved us around a lot and I plan on taking my family to Universal, Bush Gardens, and to Silver Springs. Thanks again for the trip down memory lane and keep the videos coming.
This is awesome! Definitely going on my list of places to visit! So far my hubby and I went to Cocoa Beach and Kennedy Space Visitor Center. We plan to visit more places from the videos you shared. Thank you Rick!
