    Your video brought back memories for me. For many years I too was very much into treasure hunting and gold prospecting. I had my best luck hunting nuggets with a metal detector in both Arizona dry washes as well as here in Alaska. I had a 3 inch suction dredge for a few years but didn't really use it much since it was quite involved to carry into areas, set up and use. I usually went by myself on those trips so had no help in packing. Nugget detecting was more productive with lighter equipment for me.

      Good Morning Lonnie! Great to see ya! Our gold here has mostly been picked over pretty hard. What I have found, has been small. A big piece is about the size of one these letters. It's still a lot of fun to do, and even better on a hot day. I've never found any with a metal detector, but in fairness, I haven't tried all that much either.

      Good Morning!
      Today had another really pretty sunrise! I just got done filming it, but haven't sped it up yet. I like history too. At least the natural type stuff, like old mines, outlaw hideouts, Indian camps and ruins,.....more that old buildings and cities,......ghost towns, and old cabins, now that's a different story! Cloudy here today, looks like it might rain. Have a great day!

    I love the salmony hue off the snow at low sunlight. My first impression of the Arctic, when I was there were the same colors. How are we going to know where we are going if we don't know where we came from. We must never forget the lessons history teaches us. Have a nice day.

    Thanks for another great video. I'm planning on going panning myself this summer. Ought to be fun. Outside of steamboat springs there's a creek called Wallace Creek and a story of lost gold. But as you can tell it's in Colorado. Quite a few around steamboat. Oh well, I just want to have fun. Idaho or Montana. Can't wait.

    • @MuskratOutdoors
      @MuskratOutdoors  9 місяців тому +1

      Have fun! I end up too busy here, but I want to go some this Summer too. I found out last night, looking on the computer, there is another Wallace Creek....it's a branch of Owl Creek down river....that one might be Cleveland's mine? It's not in the Wilderness area, but might have been in the "Primitive area" before it was designated "Wilderness"? Fun to think about! For you, you might as well pan some along with antler hunting and other things you are doing anyway. It's one hobby you might strike it rich, or find nothing at all. Part of the fun is not knowing, but a fella wants to win once in awhile.

    Very interesting. I read some where recently that 10% or less of the worlds gold has ever been found. That to me means there is a lot left to find, but there is a lot of area it could be hiding in. Good luck on your quest, my friend. PB

    China springs murders were done by the same guys who tried to kill c.walker lyons. They did kill c walkers partner at spring creek i believe. A few of them were deputies. C walker lyon is a interesting character his son was a lawyer in town for many years. The family used to own the building next to the smoke house and where the new library is now. Old man lyon hunted all five of them down and supposedly killed them.one in Arizona, one near chicago and i cant remember about the others. Those families are still in salmon for the most part.
