great advice Charlie you seem to have a good idea of where to find them you always have some in your videos. i wish you and your family a very merry Christmas. and all the best !!
moose are vocal all year round, however the main rut will likely be over then so you might not get them running in. They will still sneak in to investigate the calls but will likely not call back. That time of the year I rely on natures tattle tails the "red squirrel" to let me know if something passes them in the woods. They often scole anything that passes close to them in the forest.
@@NLGhostWolf Thank you for the prompt reply. You are so correct on the red squirrel, I've followed many moose just by that sound lol, would you have approximate dates for the ruts?
Good info and great footage! Its the same way with deer here... 3 stages of rutting activity, then them looking for food. Moose hunting is #1 on my list of dream hunts. Good stuff Charlie!
We have a lot more now after todays storm. I'll have to go out again tomorrow morning to clear the driveway once more. Are you guys getting a storm today as well?
It differs from year to year. But best calling I find is 3 week of Sep to 2 week of Oct depending on the year. They become super responsive for about a 2 week period.
Perfect info. Found moose finally. Just to find them again
best of luck
Good advise Charlie.
Thanks Jeff, Merry Christmas brother

They are a lot of fun to hunt, especially during the rut when they are calling, grunt and raking their antlers.

Thanks my friend, and I hope you make it here for a moose hunt. It's important to get a good outfitter though. Be careful on your selection.
