The Golden Relic Stupa of His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche

On 4th September 2019, Buddhists around the world mourned the parinirvana of His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche, who concluded his earthly activities and entered into clear light at 9.49pm. The passing of this great master was a tremendous loss for his close disciples and for the millions of followers who had benefited from his enlightened activities.
In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, when a great teacher passes away, a stupa is erected as a symbol that his subtle mind remains unchanging and ever-present in our lives. It also creates the energy and merits to swiftly draw Rinpoche's unmistaken incarnation back to us.
In September 2020, one year after Rinpoche’s parinirvana, we completed the Tsem Rinpoche Indoor Relic Stupa. Located in Kechara Forest Retreat - the 35-acre spiritual haven that Rinpoche founded in 2012, this 8ft golden stupa enshrines Rinpoche’s precious white relic pills. These holy relics were discovered amongst the ashes after the traditional funerary rites. Such relics are extremely rare, blessed and can influence our future positively and help us gain spiritual awakening.
The Indoor Relic Stupa is the first phase of the Tsem Rinpoche Relic Stupa Project. The second phase, which is the Tsem Rinpoche Relic Temple and Outdoor Relic Stupa, is on-going.
