    To all those who want to try this recipe….i can’t stress enough, as Renee did, that sugar DOES feed your yeast. My only follow-up to that would be is to stress that salt kills your yeast. Don’t let the yeast come in contact with the salt, add it to the flour before you pour the flour into the yeast mixture. Just making a suggestion for your success.

    I wish I knew how to use cast iron like you do. My dad left me all of his when he passed away and I had 3 pieces that I bought. I just can't seem to get the hang of it. I tried a few times but, it doesn't like me or something. But thats okay. I know how to use a loaf pan to make this bread that looks so dog-gone good. So watch out... I'm on a bread roll...

    Hi Renee, I never could make bread. So I have attempted 3'x this month to make no knead bread. All 3'x, the breads have come out very densed and extremely heavy.
    I've tried 3 different recipes, including yours.
    I bought new flour and yeast thinking that could be the problem. I bought a larger Dutch oven, thinking mine may be too small. Now I'm thinking that I should lower the temperature in my oven. Do you have any clue on what I 'm doing wrong?
    I'm starting to think that I 'm not meant to make bread. 😂
    💛 from 🇨🇦

      You are adding too much flour, I think. Measure your flour by filling the measuring cup with a spoon opposed to just scooping the flour up with the measuring cup. I know this may sound ridiculous but too much flour will make your bread dense and heavy. Or you could cut back on the flour by 1/2 cup and see what that does for you. Keep me posted and I will help you to get through this and make a beautiful loaf of bread.

    • @donnanorman340
      @donnanorman340 9 місяців тому

      , last batch I did the the spoon measuring, so I'll cut back 1/2 cup.
      Thanks for answering, I'll keep you posted.
      I forgot to mention that your recipe was the one that came out less dense.

      @@donnanorman340I’ve had a similar issue and this time I added more water because the bread came together in a loaf after adding the cheese! It seems way too dense but I’m letting it rise and see what happens! Best of luck to you! I’m also in Canada, have you tried making sourdough bread? No yeast needed and Turner farms she is a pro at making it without having a ton of discards. She’s also Canadian from the East Coast if I recall correctly. Don’t give up though it’s definitely worth the effort!! 🥰❤️🇨🇦

    • @donnanorman340
      @donnanorman340 9 місяців тому

      @leannekenyoung , I am 74. I have been trying to make bread all my life with zero success. My 21 year old granddaughter works in a bakery she has even tried to teach me. Her's turned out perfectly, mine nope, and we made them together. Go figure, they were both baked in the same oven.
      So, to try sourdough, 🤔 nope, don't think so. But thanks for the suggestions.
      I just don't have the touch, just like pie crust. I can't make that either, 😆

    It's not easy being cheesy! A lot of the failures with bread making is it turns out like a 'brick'.
    Used to play with this in Panasonic bread machines a lot, before I became a 'working stiff' Deli Man'. HA! I seen it; you got some fluffiness there! :)
