Did that a while ago 2 up with my wife. Got to the bottom and there a younger fella that met at the stop sign...he had pretty much oozed the brakes on the way down...said if he'd known what Grand Canaria was like he would have stayed home....scared him lifeless! Wife loved it! As did I!
On our family holiday in GC right now, and CMT don't operate through the summer holidays, so for 80 euro i rented a cb500f for 24 hrs. The bike had plenty of power for one up riding on these small roads and i found the visibility of a naked really worked, i had a great day just exploring the centre of the island and W/NW.
Sat here with my morning coffee contemplating my Sunday ride in Essex and you’ve just spoiled it. Great location great video, keep on doing what you do TP 👍
Another beautiful day and the scenery is outstanding, A lot of con centration needed on those roads 😮, I never play catch up people can hang on or I'll make my own way back, not worth the astle, that's when things can and often do go wrong, Another great watch ,
A nervous but absolutely stonking viewing watching you go round them twistty roads knowing what could and did come the other way, bloody cars, glad all ok which is the main thing. Great vlog Bruce 👍 👌
Thanks bud, aye you just can’t cut the corners over there unless you have 100% vision with no chance of error (ie you can see all the way through to the exit and beyond)👍
Such a fabulous place to ride in the British winter. Unfortunately the tricky nature of the roads, crashes do happen. Must be a bit of a nightmare for Joy and Martin when several bikes are damaged and they have bookings to ride them. Do think there is a bigger danger of drops with tall heavy adventure bikes. Trouble is folks want to ride what they have at home. The smaller mid sized machines are the best option on the island. Beautifully filmed and edited as usual Bruce. Jose's advice to me after a swift run. "Do not cut the corners" He right👍👍
I agree, I had 3 days on the SV650 and two on the F800R both were ideal for those roads and had all the power you need. Even the Africa Twin seemed a bit cumbersome to me so fair play for doing that on a GS Bruce. Having ridden there I cringed a few times watching some of those guys riding in episode 1, I felt that one or more of them would come to grief during the week as you really cannot assume any bend out there is clear if you cannot see all the way round it. Many are misleading as you think you have the view but there is a bit of a recess on the other side big enough to hide a car. Martin and Jose both do an excellent job of setting a fast but safe pace but often you have to forget the fastest line through a bend and chose the safest. Glad that no one was injured and the damage was minor in each instance but the one involving the car had the potential to be serious. Gran Canaria really is a fantastic place to ride but you have to adapt your UK riding accordingly.
100% agree to both you points there gents. Aye I say to the groups all the time, “Don’t cut the corners!” but some still do. People also get more confident as the week goes on and the pace picks up, so they start slipping back into lazy ways…. and BANG, it bites you 🤷♂️
Great ride with the Clan again Bruce. Thanks for sharing. As our old mate George used to say whenever someone had a wee spill. What don't kill yer makes you stronger lad and makes you a better rider - the first round is on you. George was real old School. He came from Scotland near Blindburn. Did some work for the Woodland Trust he said. Yeti we claimed. The big lovable hairy beast. He loved riding around Europe on his beloved 750cc Harley with my old mate John from Glasgow. I can see them now on a motorway somewhere passing the mini sausage rolls back and forth 😂😂😂 Safe enjoyable riding to you and the Clan. All the best till next time 👌😊.
Finally got some time to myself for a watch of our last day .... What an epic adventure with some great blokes 👏 Am thinking most of the content was XXX rated given the hilarity of banter we were all having.. Thanks so very much for the fantastic memories Guys 🥰.... If you get a chance to have a bike holiday out there don’t hesitate as CMT take great care of you start to finish ! As for there tour guide 👌👏....Mad as a brush 🤣🤣...(The bloke with the beard was a lovely singer 😉) 🥃🏴
Brilliant. I’ve been there cycling three times and done Stelvio (Serenity Climb), and Goat track (Valley of Tears). Not in shape for cycling atm, so will defo be returning on a Motorcycle. 😊
Wow!! what an awesome ride and scenery, never thought of Gran Canaria with such wonderful vistas, conditioned to brochures with beaches, hotels, more beaches more hotels...and why I've never been, not a beach person. Defo looks like it's best with the lighter bikes for that route. Great video just fab.
Great video Bruce! Just finished an Air Ambulance Northern Ireland Charity Run today, soaked and gale force winds at times, I guess that’s to be expected in July. But still a great day out 😎 Motorbikes are hard to beat!
Bloody great trip for you all. I'd think some of the cyclist on those mountains are professional riders training in the off season. I know of one rider trains on Madeira where he comes from.
Cracking vid Bruce, switchbacks and cambers fill me with dread 😂😂, saw you at the ABR but you were busy getting pissed so I didn’t say hello, till the next time….Wales 👍 see thee soon pal.
Gran canaria is incredible...However the real 'Spanish Stelvio' is probably Velefique in Almería. I am open to be corrected, but I really doubt i will be. Not many Brits will find their way to the biking paradise that is Almería (I live in Valencia), but it is WELL worth it! By the way when I say Almería/Valencia I am referring to the provinces, not the better known cities.
Looked pretty damn smooth to me (in response to your comment). Great ride, great view; awesome stuff. What type of bike do people say is best on roads like these? Naked, Adventure, Sports bikes (just curious)??...
Great video, brings back memories of my 50th spent with CMT, We did this exact route, I'd have to agree the GS is way to much power for most of those roads, I'll be returning later in the year, but 2 up this time, so that will be interesting, hopefully we will be doing this section 😁 good series BTW 👍🏻
Never mind 600's. Do they have any 450 supermotos? Heck, i'd take a lardy 701sm husky if that's all they had. I'd struggle to truly to enjoy those roads on any of those tanks you lot were riding. I'm not sure Gran Canaria is ready for the kind of cliental a fleet of Sumos would entice, however 🤣 They might not have a choice, as I'm checking for a ferry route from Spain that'll carry me trailer and sumo there now lol
Daft question would a insta camera or a GoPro be good for filming bike trips not for UA-cam or anything I’d have a nervous breakdown trying to edit the film or take the sledgehammer to it.
Insta360 is great for getting some interesting shots, but the resolution once ‘flattened’ to a normal field of view let’s it down in my opinion. You could film in traditional POV mode though as a standard 4K camera. GoPro or DJI Osmo would be my personal choice, but if you’re not going to edit the footage, is there any point in actually taking it? 🤷♂️👍
@@teapotone I was thinking about cutting the boring bits out and saving the nice roads and scenery if that makes sense nothing like the production you do on your videos.
I think the red car after passing the cyclist - merely wanted to avoid getting caught by the cyclist while letting you past. So went a hundred yards further. It's what I would have done. one of your pals seemed to take the hairpin exits rather wide (to say the least) which if there wasn't comms from in front to confirm no cars - was a bit risky I thought. Wide in/near out every time.
Strange how every mention of the Stelvio inevitably makes all those idiots come crawling out from under their rocks, having to let the world know how overrated they think it is. Again and again and again and again.

Stunning scenery
It’s beautiful isn’t it 👍
@@teapotone absolutely, jaw dropping .
Real Stelvio and Lysebothn in Norway is also good!
Yes they are
Having just moved up from a 650 V Strom(a fantastic all rounder) to a R1200GS I do love that extra grunt, but it is as easy as the smaller bike.
That looks such good fun 🤩 I can see why they use smaller bikes
That’s some amazing and crazy roads!
Love your travel vids from the canaries!
Thanks very much 👍
Amazing scenery if only the roads were a bit wider and less sandy… still looked like great fun! Awesome video 😃
Great vid mate and relived a fantastic trip while watching 👏👏👏
Thanks bud, always a pleasure to share a bit of tarmac with you.
Nice lad 😘👍
Nice one 👍
Cheers bud
Love my GS!
There are two types of GS riders, I heard it said. Those that have dropped a GS. And those that lie about it! 😁
