i wish this game have a slowly gameplay and more tactical i mean rescue some civilians from a city with bradleys and trucks or some side missions in the campaing ...
This was awesome, especially the air battle as the artillery unit was being dropped in. Probably pretty accurate that the attack would start with a furious exchange of missiles overhead and a lot of burning planes. Expensive Apache losses, though. I hope the WARNO developers get rid of the *spin in place* damage effect on choppers, it kinda takes away from the cinematic immersion.
Thank you for the feedback! I'm working on releasing another one, and will look for ways to continously increase the fidelity in future matches. I also agree with the helicopter effects, it looks silly. It's wild this software is technically still in alpha!
Helicopters will do that when either the main or tail rotor go out though the tail rotor is there specifically to counteract the torque of the main rotor so any uncontrolled imbalance between the two will send a helo spinning, generally wildly, however when theyre hit going at full speed that doesnt happen....so that should also be addressed Beautiful cinematics though great vid
Endwar had some pretty good disembarking animations. It was slow, but that was also a slow paced game. I agree tho, there's a lot of room to add things.
I'm glad you enjoy this, I'm working on the latest one, just doing editing and post-processing stuff! The developers are adding literal city-size maps now with real cities, I can't wait to showcase and study those! It's a great time to be alive for strategy/simulation/history enthusiast!
Thanks for the sub, I'm glad you enjoyed the match! If you want to an especially cinematic one, check out the video titled "Thunder Run". Eugens IrisZoom engine is a marvel!
@@Sandboxcode yep that's it! The last few minutes turned out very nice, it's what I like about Warno (and other well-crafted tactics/strategy games/simulations), the apparently " serendipitous moments when you have the right units together in the right area, you can push through very quickly, the end result is gorgeous!
Thank you! I plan to continue with the cinematic content and try to improve the quality, as well as expanding into more detailed assessments of the technical nature of these games as well!

thank you very much for this feedback. I'd love to get your feedback on other cinematics I've been making (either good or bad). I'm always trying to improve. I'm glad you enjoyed this video!
Thank you very much! I am constantly working to improve each marginal iteration. Please feel free to look at my later work and comment on what you like or don't like with the newest process
I'm working on my own mod and these videos are me exploring different elements of it, to gain intuition on various mechanics. I'll expand on it in future entries
Hey I'm making slow progress, but as we enter the holidays, I will likely have significantly more time to work on this , the videos, and some other surprises. The idea is the mod will have some set of changes/alterations (hopefully most/all non-trivial) that will change the game's use in scale. Part of the problem is play-testing (as you see in my videos), the other is just exploring the toolkit that Eugen has given us is labor-intensive. There's relatively sparse documentation, so a lot of it is literally me changing something, seeing how it works, and then noting it. It can be fun with no deadline, but can be slightly frustrating if you have an idea of what to do a-priori (which we do here obviously). I hope this wasn't a disappointing answer, but with work/life/research etc. taking up so much time, I'm expecting my free time to increase in the next few weeks. Also, shockingly, we are about to hit 500 members in this channel. I'm scripting a channel update when that number is hit along with the community tab, to outline where I think things look like going forward (from a timeline/development/kinds-of-videos/information etc.)
@@TheDataWorkshop Not a disappointing answer at all. Modding sounds both really frustrating and incredibly rewarding at the same time, with a large dose of tedium. If you're up for constructive feedback I did have one thing. I really enjoyed your pre-battle briefing, and I get that in this video when things kicked off you were likely going for the more cinematic view of things (which you succeeded in), but I think it'd be interesting in some videos for you to talk about how your plans and maneuvers are going, adjustments made, enemy response, etc. After awhile of pure action it became a little hard to keep track of what was happening. Keep up the great work!! Looking forward to watching more of your stuff!
@@SPARTANSAM1 thank you so much for this feedback! Reading these (good or bad) are always insightful and welcomed! I'm very new to modding (this is my first attempt/game), but I think it's enriching, especially when combined with learning software technicalities, and on a game that one has domain interests in like Warno! As for the specifics of your recommendations, I absolutely agree. I have not tried an edit where I speak in the middle, but I have tried to add visual cues in my latest two videos throughout the match. Here is an example of one (timestamped) - ua-cam.com/video/BA9pY7FXvpE/v-deo.html This latest video has many multiple points where there are these visual cues that are outlining progress with respect to the plan, though perhaps not enough showing short-falls and communicating those. Do you think the visual could be used in-lieu of verbal communication, or do you think verbal is the way to go ?
I'll take this feedback into consideration. It's hard to capture everything at once, so there's a certain practicality to the speed of the camera panning. I might have to edit, but that adds more time
That's funny you just mentioned that, I stubbed an after action report in my latest video. I am planning on expanding this section once I figure some things out on the technical side
@@TheDataWorkshop 👍, you should do combat mission Cold War scenarios, and combat mission Black Sea because those games are what you wanting to do in these games but combat mission would be amazing to see
@@abram4806 thanks for the feedback. I own both of those titles, maybe not for cinematic or large simulation projects, but definitely working on custom scenario editing. I'll keep this in mind for the future
Totally agree, the clipping is bad, but as you pointed out in the earlier comment, with so many multiple agents and events happening, I can cut them a little slack on that front. But it's an interesting technical problem on how to reduce it.
When you're actually do u prefer to group units to deploy as platoons or do you send them in individually I generally like to do 4 infantry squad platoon, 3 tank platoons and usually 2 helicopter squadron but support units and recon I keep separate
I never send any units individually. They are designed to be used in coordination with each other, and group sizing is clearly important especially since smaller units cannot reasonably be expected to accomplish certain missions i.e. you would likely not ask a squad to hold a town say as a trivial example
I'm not sure about that, though i don't have a clear knowledge of that event in detail. The simulated battles we are doing here are Cold War scenarios with two peer late industrial Era militaries. I would think Ukraine does not attempt to go "toe-to-toe" in the way we setup a US / USSR scenario here, as that would be costly and possibly unwise. This is entirely fictitious and of course a game.
@@TheDataWorkshop i know its a game...what i wanted to point out this is... did you ever seen some footage of first day of invasion of russia of ukraine>>> did u saw some footage...it has similarities of it... 100s of choopers flew acros ocean to ukraine while ukraine soldiers tries to shoot down those choppers with missiles... theres a lot of camera footage of it... maybe u try to look on youtube
@@JJrandomVids ah got it. I've not watched much of the footage of the Ukraine War, I am familiar with what you're talking about however, I read about it a few months ago. I have tried often to use air cavalry in Warno but get mixed results. Linking up is hard to accomplish even if your soldiers are only forward deployed only two miles ahead. You can see my early attempt at it in my earlier videos, air cavalry must have strong support to survive and they must have a well defined objective, and ideally, a viable retreat path

Thank you for liking the video. The game here is not meant to be political, but as a simulation of what could have been, but thankfully, was not. We should all be happy with that fact. I hope with the cinematic showcase we can not only test out our historical knowledge, but see viscerally why such an event would not be desirable for anyone
Was the attempt at all terrible i.e. that one should not have attempted a company size force in that "land bridge" area or do you think it required more preparation of the LZ? Or do you think landing them all en-masse was too risky? Or something else?
I wish they had animations for unloading units from helicopters instead of teleporting out
