Firstly, I didn't even know there were 100 games for the BBC micro, but this didn't even show many of my favorites.
there was a gamez with a guy moving across levels with stairs (classic setup), who could dig holes, the monsters would fall into these holes and the guy could then kill them by closing the holes. if he didn't do that on time, the monsters would get out of the holes and chase him
Is it Lode Runner? Thanks for watching
@@mattflin5171thanks for the reply. that's quite similar, but it's not it. I remember it having better graphics, the monsters were short
I think it's called Monsters
I had this mad little demo/game called yosser. Yosser walks along and headbutts a policeman when you press space loads of times. Give a job!
I didn't realise at the time it was yosser Hughes from boys from the blackstuff.
Thanks for watching. I didn't know that, will check it out!
That's Sim not Flight Simulator.
Nice, but you misnamed 3 games before you reached the Cs!
Thanks for watching! Thanks for pointing out, didn't realise I had done that.
Some of these look quite impressive, almost as good as an Atari 8 bit or C64. Did the BBC Micro also have hardware sprites or did the games just render them in software?
Software rendering. The BBC used a 6502 CPU which is very similar to the Commodore 64's 6510 (the latter having a few minor changes and some extra I/O capabilities.) However, the BBC runs the CPU at twice the clock speed that the C64 which compensates for the lack of hardware sprites.
fantastic 🙂
Thanks for watching
@@mattflin5171 there is one game that I used to play in junior school circa 1983 that I'm looking out for but it didn't feature in the 100
Far more crappy games than i remembered at the time. My friends ftom school coded a few of the better ones.
Thanks for watching. I agree, great that your friends coded some of these.
