Hey guys, I just want to say that it's okay if you don't agree with what he is saying. Part of being an editor is about creating emotion for the viewer and so much of the other motivational channels is just around motivation and nothing deeper, this isn't a bad thing. I want to create videos that challenge your ideas, that make you question your paradigm and that will lead to more growth in your life. Motivation is essential in life but motivation on its own kind of becomes like a drug or like going on a porn site to get an emotion rush and then going on about your day. This is the reason I try my best to focus on putting a mixture of philosophical content within the motivational stuff. It is all about balance. I myself don't agree with everything Jim Carrey says or even does. And that's okay, we don't need to idolise him to see that some of the stuff he says has objective value. Try to keep an open mind. There is so much in this world that we don't know and that not even science can answer or religion so, instead of thinking we know everything lets become curious sponges and listen to all perspectives. Thank you so much for the support of my work over the years, whatever value it has given to you and your lives have been instrumental vicariously to me. I have chosen to find meaning in this and other creative ventures in my life. - Nav
Well thank you, that's an interesting perspective and very first motivational video that comes from a channel that adds philosophy, spices things up & says everybody what this video & life is at face value, straight up right at ya w/out goin around or hiding anything. Great job ! Best of luck on whatever ventures you'll be on ;D
Ruby Morris “he only shook his junk” why don’t you just not talk about the music industry. He was the new hip cool thing. Teenage girls lost their minds when he died including moms. Girls and even guys were crazy about him because he was the new hip thing. Just because you live in this time and don’t like his music means nothing. He revolutionized music in his time and it wouldn’t be the same without him.
E. M. Greene Its been said in eastern religions that go back long before jesus arrived. Its been stated by Buddha, Its been stated in the Bhagvad Gita, In Mahayana Buddhism (Zen), BodhiDharma, Mahavatar Babaji, Guru Nanak, Mohammed, Various Zen Masters, Monks, Gurus, Stated in the present time: Sadhguru, Eckhart Tollie, Alan Watts, Mooji,, To name a few. My point is: people who state Jeesus stated it forget the roots of its origin, Jeesus may have said it may have not (as we know the bible is a second hand account, how could someone have wrotten down word for word what he said but thats an entirely different matter) but we do not simply follow it because Jeesus said it right? Its thevmessage not the author of the message, this message has been delivered through so many enlightened beings not Just Jeesus. Jeesus was the son of god as much as All the insividuals iv stated, they were all enlightened beings they attained enlightenment and every human being can attain enlightenment, Which is the message that was lost in time, But now Eckhart Tollie and Sadhguru, Mooji, all living human beings who have reached enlightenment are in fact delivering the message today and they are all equal to the son of god. The phenomenon of attaining grace and enlightenment is through meditation, or a let go of everything an attachment to that which you cannot feel rather than the muscle tension that you feel as you. Its here like the air. You identify with the feeling of being the space around you that which you cannot feel and the space inside of you that which you cannot feel nothingness rather than emptiness its like an inverse of your avatar body. Most of our body is empty space (the space between the atoms of our body is empty and the space between the nuclei of an atom and space between its electrons. We are empty space, because we are the universe itself. You are the space-time fabric, behind your eyes that area that blind spot that which you cannot see feel that which is out of scope of your vision that which isnt even the color of darkness or black in your vision but rather an empty blind spot a spot which isnt seen its formless its weightless but its there and its your doorway or gate to transcend yourself and be free, you can feel the sensation of weightlessness when you simply step into this door and when you open your eyes and continue your activities your body feels light, it does not feel heavy it is not a drag, its normal life but you feel everything is easy nothing seems difficult. Your existence becomes very light

It's because we've been conditioned to think that way. Don't talk differently or you're labeled a conspiracy theorist, or an outsider or crazy. Group think is all that is allowed. And hardly anyone sees what is intentionally being done to us via television programming ect.
The thing that's most upsetting to me is that people think he's "crazy" or "mentally unstable" for being extremely open minded, I think the people who say are very close minded people. I love Jim, I hope to meet him one day
He is clearly mentally unstable and crazy, but that’s probably why he’s such a good actor. He might be crazy, but his words are still meaningfull and he clearly had some sort of ego death type of experience.
Daan you are not getting it, the general public is crazy for not being open minded. Jim Carrey just gets it and once you get it you’ll understand. Very few people understand what he’s talking about. Unfortunately if I tried to explain it wouldn’t help you at all
"There's no real you in the first place." I love the message he's saying. What society places on us as adults, as parents, as a child is a confusing thing. To feel whole, to truly be 'me'/you is the hardest character to play. The real challenge is to allow yourself to really show, whether people accept that person or not. I love his view of depression vs. sadness. He's amazing!
I think what he’s actually referring to is that the self is a complete illusion, we are nothing but experience. He mentions “i am that” at one point which is the teachings of Nisargadatta Maharaj
We never reach or attain 'us' and who 'we are'. That's the con job that has been played on us all. Today in 2022 it is the worst it has ever been because the expectations are greater now but who constructed them expectations? Other humans did. Humans who know no more than me, you and anyone else. I am tired of hearing people struggling with the 'meaning of life' and to be the 'better them' when neither are achievable because they are never ending constructs.
@@jacksonbow2766 Do you not see the irony in what you say. You criticise others for constructing expectations, yet you the construct the expectation that people shouldn't struggle with these questions and that you construct the expectation of what is achievable for others.
@@khuzytheartistee What construct did I create in my words? I highlighted that we live in a human made world, which we do. All the rules, religions, structures, expectations and morals etc. Are all human made. We restrict nature as much as we can and those elements cannot restrict, we create methods and tools to navigate through them so they do not stop us. Us Humans only know 1 way, forwards, that is why we 'look back' because forward is all we know now. The truly happy people among us are those who are not seeking for 'more', they are happy and grateful for what they have. Those are the type of people we should all aim to be because the only goal in life is to reach happiness.
@@jacksonbow2766 'we should all aim to be' 'only goal in life' So you tell me we all SHOULD aim to be x y z, and you tell me that the goal of life is to reach happiness. So you criticise others for having expectations, yet you feel that others should live according to how you believe. How do you know the goal of life is to reach happiness? Is that your goal, or everyone's goal?
It’s crazy, how one day you just “wake up” and your perspective on life is just totally different and you see how everyone else are still on autopilot.
💯 It can almost be kinda of an isolating and lonely feeling because if you expressed this you'd be viewed as a weirdo. So many already feel the same about Jim. Kinda sucks.
That's exactly how I used to think. But, after looking back at it, that's just lack of tolerance & openness. Now, i'm more open to all kinds of perspective and the balance come along with it. But ofc you need to deal with your deppresion first to come up a conclusion like that.
I know people are probably going to say I'm just too dumb to understand, but can anyone explain what this actually means? He says "Everything is Divine. there's no thing that isn't divine, everything is divine and I'm that. And it doesn't matter to me what's happening. I'm finding that ultimately the freedom from it is something people are kind of hungry for in a way. They're like, I don't want to be me either, and I go well great cause you never have been". I'm sure most people listening think they know what it means, but It's very easy to derive whatever meaning you want from this type of vague spiritual talk. I promise he isn't actually saying anything specific. If I asked every person who watched this video what the meaning of it was, they'd all give me different answers that aligned with their personal spiritual views. But of course if you heard someone else's interpretation, it would be very easy to translate what they said into something that fits your beliefs, even if in reality you're both saying something different. Everyone want's to feel like they understand some deep truth about the world and us as people, but no one does. The thing that bothers me the most about things like this is he's trying to imply that the things he's saying are inherent truths, but they absolutely aren't. I'm not trying to shit on anyone's spirituality. I just think it's important to listen to people who actually have something to teach you. Not just some pseudo-intellectual celebrity.
As a Buddhist teacher, i can say that EVERYTHING Jim said is an enlightened idea! And those enlightened ideas many times sound crazy to those who are not initiated! 🙏🏻
@@danielnewman3428 It's about nondualism in general, the way he's saying it; a lot of people and philosophies have similar ideas about the ultimate nature of the self. In Hindu it's called Adveita Vedanta.
I don't think Jim will ever understand how much happiness and joy he brought the world with these characters he gave us over the years. Thank you Mr. Carrey you'll always be part of a group of people who brought me much joy in life.
When I was 16-18 I went through what I can only see now as being depressed. I barely spoke to anyone. Going to college was awful, I had no energy, I never smiled, felt sad, or anything of the sort. I didn’t speak to people, even close friends really, and it just got to the point where I really wanted to die just because.. I no longer wanted to be me. But after hitting that point, I am now 19, and can say honestly that I got through it myself. Now I understand that nothing matters. And I don’t really put on a fake persona anymore. Sometimes people may think I’m boring, or that I’m sad, or that in general i may not be the most fun person to be around. But I no longer feel the need to be something I’m not. Because the truth is it’s my life, and I’ll live it how I want to.
"But I no longer feel the need to be something I'm not. Because the truth is it's my life, and I'll live it how I want to." I hope I can live by those words too. Thank you.
sweet liberation! if i had to place a value on lessons ive learned one of my greatest was to forgive my friends any mistakes. My friends and I have been through so much to fight over and we never gave up on each other even when we did fight. That changed my life. Each of their families became my family. All of their hardships i shared shamelessly and before they even knew why i chose to share such pain they had learned to love me for it, because ive been on the other side alone and lost, back then i chose to never let go of 'who i am' someone that cares if nothing else.
@@kbkbkbkbkbkbkbkbkbkb no, you're jumping to conclusions. His kind of awake is not woke, it's a higher consciousness, awakening. You can't really, truly put it into words, but we'll all be there some day.
A number of years ago I would have thought he was crazy as a loon but currently I understand exactly what he’s trying to convey. Once the veil is lifted from your eyes your life changes.
A few years ago I *did* think he was crazy, or at least lost and far from being okay. I would not have truly understood what he was saying about there not being a self until I actually began to experience my life in this way of 'being everything'. They say that this kind of information is experiential, not 'scientific', this kind of information cannot be carried over by speech, the meaning of it is in the experience and without that experience it serves no purpose. This is unlike religion or military which serves a purpose whether you have experienced the information firsthand or not. However even though the experience of being all of our infinite parts is all of us I do believe that we are not to just be the 'primordial being', we are not just to stay as potential, as the mythological tarot 'fool', but rather we should still find the real love waiting for us, the real divine love that exists for us, the version of ourselves that is the child of a greater perfect love, which you can understand by these words said to the religious, which said basically, "your father is the devil, you don't know my father." If you understand infinity and you understand that you are the miracle possibility of that infinity, you are also the miracle possibility of having a destiny in which you have a chance to access the miraculous possibility of perfection, of an eternal infinite possibility that is the possibility that can access all dimensions at once. While we can drift aimlessly as we are, I encourage the ego also to still pursue a love like this. You will know if it is that love because when you touch that love, it doesn't make you just feel healed like a woman's touch, exposure to that love might destroy everything dark in you, it might even kill you. When I've touched it, it has cut all of my ambitions, my motivations, my bad intentions out of me instantly and left me seeing that all I tried to do is based on an identity that doesn't already have value and worth.
I always say the news is primarily about all the problems rich people go through. Poor folks looking for food. Rich people fighting wars involving the poor in their madness. That type of insanity.
I love the way he describes depression: "depression should be viewed as a need for your body (and mind) to take a break from playing the character that you have been playing and identify yourself with." When you really think about it, it's very eye opening. Truly beautiful 😊
Jim is only describing HIS form of depression. My mother was murdered at age 21. My grandmother, who was the most genuine person who I've ever known, suffered for the rest of her life with depression because of it.
Mow...she, herself, told me that she had been diagnosed with depression. I guess that you and Jim are better at diagnosing such a condition than a psychiatrist. Such arrogance!
Because of attachment. Not saying you may not grieve the loss of someone, but at some point you have to realize that clinging to the past won't help you at all. Clinging to the go does indeed induce depression, so he is not wrong in stating that.
I've been battling depression myself. It's hard to describe really. But listening to that line is kind of liberating. Makes me feel like I somehow understand the tricks my mind likes to play on me. +NeThZOR Clinging to the past is the main reason for most people including me but letting it go is a harder fight than most people imagine. It is different for everyone and it has to be fought within. +Lisa D I feel for your grandmother. I hope she's in a better place now. +Mow This is a sensitive topic. I've been reading your comments but refrained from commenting because of that very reason. I hope you understand that not everyone would appreciate you commenting on someone else's mental state no matter how right or wrong you are. I know you just wanted to contribute.
NeThZOR...ever heard of PTSD? I agree with much of Jim's philosophy in this short video but he hasn't a clue regarding the experience of violent trauma or so many other life altering events. He's never been raped. Never had a loved one murdered. Never served in combat and seen military brothers blown to bits. Never had to kill another person. Never lost a limb. Never been permanently disabled or paralyzed. Never diagnosed with a fatal diagnosis. I could go on and on and on. His experience is SO extremely limited. Therefore, I find it arrogant and pretentious of him assume that experiences which he has never dealt with can be circumvented in the way that HE imagines.
He's so right. When I heard what he said about depression, I cried. I'm so depressed all the time and how he summed it up got to me because it's the truth but it also gives me hope because now I know exactly what it is. He's seriously a hero to me.

He is more than human, yet also human - and that is true of all of us, although very rarely in the same way. There are others like him; they are few, but they speak loud and long, if only we will hear. David Bowie was/is one of the same kind - although he, just as Jim Carrey, being also human, did not realise who/what he truly was until he had lived enough of "our" mortal life to understand what it means to wholly *BE* one of us again - and I say "again" because these people were once as we are, but - just as did Gandalf the White, who almost forgot the very name of "Gandalf" after he left the mortal realm where it had any meaning (Tolkien also knew the truth) - have gone beyond our reality, almost to the point of forgetting, but have *_chosen_* to return - because we *NEED* them, and they, like us, remember that they once learned from those who were then as they are now, and they wish to offer others the same knowledge which they gained. Their motivation cannot be known for sure, but it would seem to be alike to compassion and pity, since they always - but always - live hard lives by "our" standards: David Bowie, too, like Jim Carry, lived his own very difficult life (both private and public) as a series of unreal, self-generated "characters": that is no coincidence, nor is it a symptom of "mental illness" or "drug abuse", although these are common misinterpretations of something far different yet superficially similar to our partially sighted eyes. The few enlightened ones walk amongst us, as they always have, *_by choice_* - they need not be here, and that is why and how they carry the "other world" within them, visible to us yet unattainable by most of us, and try so hard to show it to us; it is for this very purpose that they walk again a difficult path which they no longer *_need_* to tread. The great religious teachers have been of the same order: Buddha, Jesus, and all who share their status in our minds and in our history; not for nothing are they known as "teachers" - for that is what they are - and it is also true that every last one of them did not have an easy path to follow in this life. Those who are ready to know what they can teach us - and to relinquish the worldly things which must be entirely given up in the process - will hear and understand; those who are not ready will perhaps still choose to advance a little, or even a great deal; and those who choose not to hear at all are not ready and will not advance - yet. After all, there is no hurry, for there *IS* no Time in the ultimate reality which we can sometimes glimpse, either ourselves or via the agency of the great techers of our time (and each age has its own truth-tellers); there is only that perception of Universal change which we see as such *_because_* we are finite in this mortal realm and therefore cannot conceive of the absence of Time, but the Infinite Divine quite literally has all the Time there will ever be, since it exists entirely outside of what we call Time, and all the patience, without limit, to wait for all of us; for the Divine, a second is as an age, and an age is as a second; there is no Time beyond what our mortality dictates there must be - in this realm. The Divine *WILL* eventually draw all of us unto it, as (not only) the Bible says; for we are *ALL* a part of it, even though we are not yet ready to stand alongside/within it... yet. Jim Carrey and those like him do their best to tell us the truth. The very fact that he knows that most who hear will not believe him, yet is so wholly at peace with this knowledge, vouches for how much he truly understands, and how far beyond the small confines of "self" he has advanced; yet if only *_one_* person hears him, even partially, then his journey here has been a success, and he knows it.
Is there a limit on the length of UA-cam comments? No offense you probably made some good points, but I don't think anyone's actually gone read all of that.
"You should think of the word "depressed" as deep-rest. Your body NEEDS to be depressed! It needs DEEP REST from the character that you've been trying to play" - Jim Carrey 🙏❤
Wow!.I've never heard that, but I have alway considered myself well-rested (no excuses) when I come off of a depression spell of laying around. I guess I'm on track!
@@iDecoA7X Depression is a chemical imbalanced caused by emotional situations and chronic inherited disorders, in no situation does any human body require depression to function well, the condition itself is inherently negative. There is no good from depression, your body does not need it.
I'm glad Jim Carrey does speeches like this. Through these speeches, he's expressing the pure-hearted man he is underneath the comedic actor. Jim is telling the world that underneath the comedic actor he's always been, there's a pure-hearted man who feels the same emotions the rest of us go through, day-by-day.
People put "funny" people in this box where all they are allowed to do Is make people laugh. When those "funny" people show the other aspects of their personality everyone gets upset, surprised and confused.
I once read somewhere that humour gets to a certain emotional level that is connected to all emotions allowing comedians(for example) to play these emotional characters very well. Therefore it doesn't really surprise me, but if you look at it that way it's quite ironic indeed. Man, I love Jim. Such a great guy.
It's so true, the person you think you are is just a collection of ideas you have about yourself. If you change the stories, you change the person - it's that fluid. Then you're left wondering if you are really you at all. Finally then you realise that there is no solid 'you'.
That's sort of obvious though, you are the collection of your experiences and how you've reacted. But you are who you are and that's where I don't agree with what Jim's saying. The important part I feel he's looking over is that you are who you are, how you react to situations decides the person you are now and will become. Someone is someone and personalities do exist. Otherwise why two people grow up in the same household and one become a criminal and one become a doctor. I'm aware that's a simple comparison but I do think people are who people are.
David Abbott Yeah that’s true but a “personality” is just the word we assign to how people act, which comes from nature and nurture. Two people might grow up in the same house but that’s just one similar drop in an ocean of different experience.
Just watching him smile brings me so much joy. It’s contagious. His energy is like a warm big hug. He’s so genuine. He’s so kind. You can see it in his eyes. People like this don’t survive Hollywood. They go “crazy” or overdose. The people with glaring empathy, they can’t bare the secrets. I know I couldn’t.
He grew up poor at one point living in a van with his family. He said he was very happy. But he wanted to make 10 million . He did it and it wasn't happiness for him. He's brought me a lot of joy through his comedy and just being Jim. Love to meet this guy. He grew up not far from me. Love ya Jim. Peace. He will never see this but it's out there anyways.
He was happy because he was a child without having to worry about things, if he didn't became an actor he would be unhappy in watever job he could have.
The truth? What he spoke of sounded like some bigger realizations about the dynamics of life, not a solid state of completeness. He seems to have a way to go.
true Christians already have it. But Mr. Carrey is just playing all of you hook line and sinker to formulate his new image, so that he does not stop being worshipped by the masses and it appears to be working. Please note I used the word "true." Not everyone that says they are a Christian truly are.
Mannn a few years ago I remember listening to Jim talk like this and think that he lost it. Mental breakdown. Years later after learning meditation and psychedelic exploration I can listen to these and appreciate what he’s actually saying. Makes me realize how we are always learning and growing and I’m glad a public figure is capable of speaking on his growth.

As someone with horrible depression & self hatred I really needed to hear this. The best thing I can do is to stop wanting more and stop trying to be perfect. It's not worth anything.
No one is small-minded because they disagree with his views. He's at the mid-life stage in life like myself and friends. We reached success, acquired all of the stuff that really is fucking useless to us at this point in our lives and so now we start to offload all of that acquired crap for a life of simplicity and truth. Self-truth that isn't about us anymore or the image of the characters we've all been, playing for the past fifty-something years. Self-truth is the only place where happiness can be found.
You can't be truly enlightened when you remain "illuminated". That new age crap is the ticket to his own descent into darkness. There is only one source of light, and that's Christ.
It would be nice to think he's enlightened but I fear this is just his ego trying to deal with the loss of his success and celebrity. Easier to let go when you tell yourself you had nothing to begin with.
As I grew older I noticed my brain caring about much higher things and I think its a natural progression within all of us and some point we make a decision either unwittingly or deliberate to seek other things
This is perfect. Felt like I was the only one thinking like this until I saw Jim's videos they're so comforting. Years ago I thought he was crazy, now I think he's the only one who isn't

I understand. He is just interpreting something everyone can't. Trust me. We've all questioned the same things and then later some of us disregard them and some of us do not who adopt it as a morbid fascination. So don't label anyone buddy.
There is no "lost" or "found" ( this is ALL part of the matrix of spiritual conquest aka RELIGION) there is ONLY perception of what's right or wrong and this "perception" ( really just your conscious as well as subconscious opinion ) actually changes depending upon geographical location, physical attributes, monetary status, community status, family realation, etc so what you may consider "lost" may be exactly what i consider "found" and vice versa the laws that govern civilizations are decided by the same people that break them lol not one single action could be considered "evil" or deemed "wrong" without knowing the outcome or effect of said action ( you could murder a child in cold blood but end up saving ten from the vicious offspring this child would have produced) on the other hand no action can be deemed as "good" or "right" either. Because let's say you stopped me from murdering that child then it's child murdered ten children and 5 of those ten children were going to have children that would have changed the world for the better? But how could we EVER truly know in advance? So ALL we can do is ASSUME we are right or wrong and hope we convince everyone else of the same lol
Everyone’s life is about finding their own path and their own truth. Each existence experiences and perceives the world we live in differently. There’s no one way to do life. There’s no path that is the formula. We all must find our own. It makes me happy to see people find and accept theirs. I wish that for everyone.
If anyone had told me Jim Carrey would become a voice not of reason but of reality, I wouldn't have believed it. I'm forever impressed with his journey to understand life instead of believing it's about mastering it.
Did he discover to true God? True life is fleeing! Life is just a blink of an eye, compared to eternity! So, getting ready for the rest eternity should be the number one thing in a persons life! I like Jim and hope he has found peace! He made me laugh!
I have felt this way for quite some time from a relatively early age, i think it has something to do with my severe panic attacks and anxiety and other issues which i was born with. I learned what sadness feels like quite young so i always seemed more mature for my age compared to the others. I had been told that i had this glowing smile and i always had a positive effect on everyone around me. Regardless i never really couldn't relate to anyone, but i found my inner peace and i was perfectly happy being by myself most of the time. I didn't connect well with other people, but i connected with the nature, the trees, the plants, the water, the whole environment. I saw the bigger picture and i felt great knowing my place and my purpose. I smiled to the world and the world smiled back.
i just wanted to say thank you for sharing this. it was honestly beautiful. specifically, your last two sentences trigger this familiar feeling of bliss that i often chase. & to find it, instantly, simply through those words??.... man.. much love.
Life is about living.being truly happy&peaceful.its about smiling to a stranger as you walk down the street, that moment of watching a raindrop land on a leaf, watching a child learn something new, helping someone....a true life has never been about stuff,it's just being at peace with yourself, being kind,loving,...etc all the good stuff your soul has inside♡
A little too picturesque. Feeling funny inside doesn't get science or work done. Doesn't cure anything. Doesn't create art or help the world. (Though, it may be useful for an individual to aim for this since it will help the local town and yourself.) I fear people are being too spiritual and religious and divine about the whole thing here. Not very true or helpful to commit yourself to 'oneness' the way Jim has.
Warhammer Workshop We are all going to pass anyway, better entertain and get entertained while we are at it. Is what I think he is trying to say. Helping the world is yes a good goal and motivation for a good life but you are doing these scientific researches and discovering stuff for our species' aid, for what? So other people can have an easier life, so they can enjoy life. If our only and only goal for our species was to evolve and develop so we can make life easier than there would be no one to do this work and improvement for so they can have a better enjoyment of their lives since *everyone* is working for improvement. I'm having trouble getting my point across sorry.
Jim Carrey is very deep. If you haven't seen him in a video called : "I needed color" you should definitely watch it. You'll never look him the same again
He’s always been awake. Did you not watch the video? :D he clearly explains that he was just playing those characters for the sake of giving people hope and entertaining people and making them think that there’s no need for worry cause the characters he portrayed didn’t worry and were just having fun. But deep inside Jim Carrey was always an awaken troubled mind, and will never find a peace of mind till death cause he’s too smart for it! But seriously tho, I hope he finds permanent peace in something at some point, and I hope that so will I and everyone else who’s seeking it ✌🏼
Jim Carrey has awakened. Listen to this man with depth and you can awaken too, be free and reconnect with the pure and divine love energy we all are. You will truly know what being happy is all about.
Jim Carrey is an excellent example of the ENFP. Articulate individuals with a depth of being that so many can't touch-the charismatic entertainer who reaches people with humor, joy, and inspiration. The character is bold, persuasive, and passionate. The world desperately needs more people like this. The world needs this now more than ever.
I've seen this, I have seen people that have a check list for happiness. If they do XYZ or achieve this or that or own some particular thing or have some special job or be some amazing person, they will be happy. I have seen people reach the end of their list, look around after achieving amazing success by all standards and say "Is this it? Is there anything else?" So, those two things (success and happiness) are not entirely connected. I'm not sure what the answer is but for now I've found just finding happiness in the small things; a good meal, catch up with an old friend, help someone for no other reason other than you can or just sitting on your ass watching the sun rise....
exactly, we should all be able to think in the present and appreciate it. Because 90% of us never think about the present but are either sad about the past or worried about the future. You can only really live when you live in the present
OneyedJake well explained, happiness can be only found in this present moment, one needs to leave past and future and be present, be now and enjoy it, cant be any simpler !
I’ve kept my basic lifegoals low on purpose. Me & my wife have a small , cheap house in a quiet neighbourhood we fixed up ourselves. It’s fully paid and so is the lot it stands on. We’ve got an older , small car , also paid in full. We’ve got groundheat & solarpanels on the roof for heat , hot water and electricity. To top it of we have our own well for water. No loans , no debts. The only bills we get is for garbageservice & the sewege. We work 8-15 hours a week , each. Me as a carpenter an she as a doctors secretary. I’m 52 , she’s 49. Our sons are 28 , 26 & 17. They live on their own now. The youngest at his school. We’re NOT rich but we pretty much do what we feel like. Take a low cost trip abroad to sun and beaches every 1 1/2 - 2 years. I don’t need or want anything more.
I like Jim Carrey. I like how he processes thought and self. I get what he is saying. It is a cycle that people go through trying to become something/someone when we are without any outward add on. That feels true to me because people treat you better when you succeed or acquire or make something of yourself. I think that making something of your life is good for the purpose of having security, but I also think that all the trappings of life don’t make you anything… you are you without any of it. The best thing is to come to that understanding quickly as trying to find yourself doesn’t work and trying to find people to value you also doesn’t work. I do like/love God because I have a massive understanding of his acceptance and grace. Anyway, I think Jim Carrey is amazing and smart and he is just a kick to listen to. Love him.❤️
Jesus stated the true gnosis of this world is to search for the secret hidden esoteric knowledge and once you start or awaken , you have to keep going . Your on the verge of some understanding but not there yet . Everything is consiousness , when your pineal gland is activated , you will see and once you do ,nothing looks , or feels the same . People of course treat u better when your doing good , wonder why ? Most people are users but people are attracted to people that have that inner light from gnosis of the secrets of this life , you eradiate that light , people emit light , I forget the measurement and people are attracted to that , not your success or make something of yourself . Your alive , your you, the only you that will ever be and why can't we have the joy and wonder if the joy of life ? The world is so oppressive , and in the afterlife , the church tells you that declare Jesus as your lord and savior , your saved , and boom your good and you'll go to heaven But for all the people they have brainwashed with that , are the ghosts and spirits manifested in this world because they are trapped , they have no idea of the afterlife , the different levels , the Archons , pass phrases you have to know to process . So meditate and activate your third eye and you will start to see everywhere , the duality and snchronicity of the 3d reality we live in
Hi everyone. Sometimes we all forget how precious life truly is and how it’s important to cherish those in our lives and to always tell your loved ones how you feel and tell them you love them because you never know what can or will happen from one minute to the next. We all get busy with our day to day lives, working or just busy being in our own little world and we forget to call that friend or when something comes up we make excuses why we can’t be there. Then something happens and we wish we had just one more moment with them or if I could go back I would spend more time and tell them I loved them… Well do that right now. Don’t let life pass you buy and have regrets and have I could have or should have done this or done that. We all get busy and that’s understandable but we are all important to someone and we all matter. So remember to never take a moment and people in your life for granted. Anything can and will happen but enjoy it. I know life isn’t all rainbows and unicorns but damn man, life is truly a wonderful thing. Help a stranger if you see someone in need, smile at others, be kinder and tell those how you feel before it’s too late. Life is way too short to be angry all the time and no need to be ugly and mean to others. We all have our days but no need to take it out on others. Anyways, just a reminder that YOU’RE EFFING AWESOME and thanks for being apart of my life’s journey. Peace, Love, Care and Respect. Have a kick ass weekend everyone. God Loves yah.
I'm all for SOME of that - but if you spend ALL your time hanging out with friends and chatting with relatives on Face Book you will have NO time left to earn money and you will be going down the path of becoming a complete and utter loser. LOL - people need to have a BALANCE with their time. It's like eating - eat a balanced diet. Also like exercise - there can be TOO LITTLE - but also can be TOO MUCH.
We need more people like you in this world I believe we are here to learn from our experiences good and bad in order to grow/evolve After we die we either reincarnate in a different body back to earth in order to keep learning and growing or we go into a higher dimension if we learned and grew enough spiritually
‘I believe that I had to become a famous idea, and get the all the stuff people dream about and accomplish a bunch of things that look like success in order in order to give up my attachment to those things’ ‘It looks great when you’ve got cool car and you got nice clothes, and you’ve done something people admire... but it can never fulfil you, you can never be happy; it’s not where happiness comes from’ This hit me like a tonne of bricks
*idol worship. Blinding. He offered nothing but unsubstantial thought, he examples the very "not mattering" he's talking about. And because of idol worship, y'all swoon over his syllables. Hilarious.*
Thank you Jim for all the parts you played over the years. You are a beautiful shinning light and have been a part of my own healing. All blessings to you for being willing to be so vulnerable. Your movies have been used in our spiritual community to share the loving practice of forgiveness. Peace be with you. Nelda
More people should praise the courage of Jim Carrey for voicing what a whole bunch of people are thinking (including myself). Life is crazy better to acknowledge the craziness and watch it play out then to feel like you have lost your mind. Some call him crazy I say he is experiencing clarity.
See you seem to be the unawakened one. Stop using others as your dieties or pointers of truth. Find your own truth and don't put others down for not understanding yours or what you think you know. It doesnt matter.
I cannot believe Mr Carrey has reached total enlightenment. If he has why would he ever do another interview. He is still waking. Once he's reached total enlightenment we won't see him anymore. He won't need to.
It is very hard to teach people to let go think of nothing and reach total peace in order to handle everything in your life . I have done this and I feel comfortable with my life . Good luck to everybody hope you can find this too.
I've always love Jim Carrey for being the awakened soul, and I especially love how he says he's never been depressed, but that there's been sadness, but also joy and everything else. Not trying to sound hoity-toity, but I agree with what he says - I go through depression-like symptoms but I never thought I was depressed, just experiencing sadness. In fact, I'd go as far as to state that there's no such thing as depression, just a holding onto and an extended period of sadness. Have you ever considered that it's our labelling and holding onto those emotions that make them seem much bigger than what they really are? That they are things that can be let go of?
❤️Thanks for your unwavering love and support you have constantly shown me. I can’t appreciate the unconditional love I have gotten from fans, which for this very reason has kept me going and even giving a more sensational entertainment. I’m forever grateful. Where are you watching from?
Jim carey woke up from the matrix. Everything is vibration, frecuency and energy in world, Nicola Tesla said that made need to study non matter we will advance in life. All we need is love peace
I'm somewhat reminded of a quote from Jim's amnesiac role in The Majestic when he's asked who he was and he replies: "Just a guy trying to figure things out". Thank you, Jim.
I’m so glad Jim took the time within himself to truly understand this crazy world the best that he possibly could. People in the industry can all learn something from this guy.
Definitely been stuck in my shed for too long, this... This is what I needed, tears that don't burn, and a loneliness left more so comfortable. I appreciate you stranger, I needed this video.

Hey guys,
I just want to say that it's okay if you don't agree with what he is saying.
I have chosen to find meaning in this and other creative ventures in my life.

yep. dont be a personality. as jesus said, "deny thy self"
E. M. Greene
Its been said in eastern religions that go back long before jesus arrived.

@@jacksonbow2766 'we should all aim to be' 'only goal in life'
So you tell me we all SHOULD aim to be x y z, and you tell me that the goal of life is to reach happiness.
🤣
💯 It can almost be kinda of an isolating and lonely feeling because if you expressed this you'd be viewed as a weirdo. So many already feel the same about Jim. Kinda sucks.
That's exactly how I used to think. But, after looking back at it, that's just lack of tolerance & openness.

This is the first time I see Jim Carrey talking seriously. He's a very smart guy.
No one likes anyone who thinks or talks seriously because it challenges their beliefs or how they were told what life is.
Go watch his commencing speech
@@jackeroo75 What did he commence?
A number of years ago I would have thought he was crazy as a loon but currently I understand exactly what he’s trying to convey. Once the veil is lifted from your eyes your life changes.
A few years ago I *did* think he was crazy, or at least lost and far from being okay. I would not have truly understood what he was saying about there not being a self until I actually began to experience my life in this way of 'being everything'. They say that this kind of information is experiential, not 'scientific', this kind of information cannot be carried over by speech,
the meaning of it is in the experience and without that experience it serves no purpose.
This is unlike religion or military which serves a purpose whether you have experienced the information firsthand or not.
However even though the experience of being all of our infinite parts is all of us I do believe that we are not to just be the 'primordial being',
we are not just to stay as potential, as the mythological tarot 'fool',
but rather we should still find the real love waiting for us, the real divine love that exists for us, the version of ourselves that is the child of a greater perfect love,
which you can understand by these words said to the religious, which said basically, "your father is the devil, you don't know my father."
If you understand infinity and you understand that you are the miracle possibility of that infinity, you are also the miracle possibility of having a destiny in which you have a chance to access the miraculous possibility of perfection, of an eternal infinite possibility that is the possibility that can access all dimensions at once.
While we can drift aimlessly as we are, I encourage the ego also to still pursue a love like this. You will know if it is that love because when you touch that love,
it doesn't make you just feel healed like a woman's touch, exposure to that love might destroy everything dark in you, it might even kill you.
When I've touched it, it has cut all of my ambitions, my motivations, my bad intentions out of me instantly and left me seeing that all I tried to do is based on an identity that doesn't already have value and worth.
"I think everybody should get rich and famous and get everything they dreamed so so they can see that's not the answer" - feel you :)
One his best quotes! Hope you enjoyed the video!
I always say the news is primarily about all the problems rich people go through. Poor folks looking for food. Rich people fighting wars involving the poor in their madness. That type of insanity.
I love the way he describes depression:
"depression should be viewed as a need for your body (and mind) to take a break from playing the character that you have been playing and identify yourself with."
When you really think about it, it's very eye opening.
I'm turning 29 in 24 minutes and feeling overwhelmed ... Needed this so much.

He's so right. When I heard what he said about depression, I cried. I'm so depressed all the time and how he summed it up got to me because it's the truth but it also gives me hope because now I know exactly what it is. He's seriously a hero to me.

Thank you jim carey,
Money doesn't buy happiness but in our society it buys freedom and with freedom comes happiness for most...Dont try to obtain money for stuff obtain money so your no longer a slave to work...
Yes
You can buy your way out of jail but you can't buy freedom. Once your making six figures and your neighbors , coworkers, "friends", patrons, city and state officials etc...please don't get me started on the real terrorist the TSA, FBI and CIA. But once you make six figures everyone hates you and finds a way to demonize you put you in situations of hate jealousy and strife where you have to choose between two lesser evils so they can proceed to judge. You don't consent and they call you crazy and instigate and continue to terrorize you. Ha you ain't never had money and never just how they want you running that hamster wheel. You own nothing and you have an owner. Now choose between these multiple choice questions and go on with your life before I take your choice away your life is a privilege and USA always takes everything even do called opportunities especially if your right about the terrorist intimidation tactics and use of hate fear propaganda to have everyone in unhealthy competition with each other kudos
I gave Ricardo a like because he's my kind of crazy. Godspeed Ricardoooooo!!!!! Go get em boy!
Intelligence and happiness brings freedom. Money is worthless. When you die, whether you are a billionaire or homeless, all that will matter is whether or not your happy
totally agree with u
nice to see he's more human than celebrity
jlarrymore hes ....waking up
me too
He is more than human, yet also human - and that is true of all of us, although very rarely in the same way.
I'm commenting on this post so I can look back at Neil Smith's reply whenever I want to
"You should think of the word "depressed" as deep-rest. Your body NEEDS to be depressed! It needs DEEP REST from the character that you've been trying to play"
- Jim Carrey 🙏❤
Wow!.I've never heard that, but I have alway considered myself well-rested (no excuses) when I come off of a depression spell of laying around. I guess I'm on track!
Thanks
Ah I love feeling deep-rested with 3 hours of sleep on a 10 hour shift not being able to pay rent while we give billions to other countries 😂
that gave me goosebumps. I had never thought about it like that.
@@iDecoA7X Depression is a chemical imbalanced caused by emotional situations and chronic inherited disorders, in no situation does any human body require depression to function well, the condition itself is inherently negative. There is no good from depression, your body does not need it.
"Everything you gain in life will rot and fall apart, and all that will be left of you is what was in your heart. Jim Carrey

"I don't wanna be me, well great cause you never have been" damn I felt that
I'm glad Jim Carrey does speeches like this. Through these speeches, he's expressing the pure-hearted man he is underneath the comedic actor. Jim is telling the world that underneath the comedic actor he's always been, there's a pure-hearted man who feels the same emotions the rest of us go through, day-by-day.
It's kinda ironic that the man who lives with humour all his life is facing the most serious questions of our existence.
People put "funny" people in this box where all they are allowed to do Is make people laugh. When those "funny" people show the other aspects of their personality everyone gets upset, surprised and confused.
Humor is often a cover for pain
Humor also comes by telling the truth or exhibiting something truthful. Real people always look for real questions and answers
Evolution
I once read somewhere that humour gets to a certain emotional level that is connected to all emotions allowing comedians(for example) to play these emotional characters very well. Therefore it doesn't really surprise me, but if you look at it that way it's quite ironic indeed. Man, I love Jim. Such a great guy.
The Truman show really got him thinking. The beginning of his awareness.
Yeah it really did get him thinking.
it's a message, you can read it if you open your mind
That and him playing andy Kaufman
He is an insider all along. Jim Carrey Is The Satanic High Priest In L.A.
No he’s been like this since a child
It's so true, the person you think you are is just a collection of ideas you have about yourself. If you change the stories, you change the person - it's that fluid. Then you're left wondering if you are really you at all. Finally then you realise that there is no solid 'you'.
couldn't of explained it better !
If your ego can’t take that shift then maybe - or it opens you up to be anything or anyone you want to be.
It's all about YOUniverse...
David Abbott
Yeah that’s true but a “personality” is just the word we assign to how people act, which comes from nature and nurture.
Conan Clarke meet him? I think you missed the point
baxt lord - So did you with such a derogatory comment. Now look what you've made me do! I've joined your club!

As someone with horrible depression & self hatred I really needed to hear this. The best thing I can do is to stop wanting more and stop trying to be perfect. It's not worth anything.
Any of you who say JIM has gone crazy are just very small minded people. I believe he is becoming truly enlightened.
Scott Patterson I totally agree with you 👍
You can't be truly enlightened when you remain "illuminated". That new age crap is the ticket to his own descent into darkness. There is only one source of light, and that's Christ.
If life was a game, He has unlocked a level of intelligence these low level characters wouldn't understand
It would be nice to think he's enlightened but I fear this is just his ego trying to deal with the loss of his success and celebrity. Easier to let go when you tell yourself you had nothing to begin with.
I love Jim Carey. He's different than anyone. He's funny. God bless him.

Sometimes you have to lose yourself. To find yourself. A person that is lost....is a person that as the new opportunity to be found.👍

❤ ❤ ❤
R. A. there's nothing I could tell you to convince you it's wrong. Live with your reality, this is your way
There is no "lost" or "found" ( this is ALL part of the matrix of spiritual conquest aka RELIGION) there is ONLY perception of what's right or wrong and this "perception" ( really just your conscious as well as subconscious opinion ) actually changes depending upon geographical location, physical attributes, monetary status, community status, family realation, etc so what you may consider "lost" may be exactly what i consider "found" and vice versa the laws that govern civilizations are decided by the same people that break them lol not one single action could be considered "evil" or deemed "wrong" without knowing the outcome or effect of said action ( you could murder a child in cold blood but end up saving ten from the vicious offspring this child would have produced) on the other hand no action can be deemed as "good" or "right" either. Because let's say you stopped me from murdering that child then it's child murdered ten children and 5 of those ten children were going to have children that would have changed the world for the better? But how could we EVER truly know in advance? So ALL we can do is ASSUME we are right or wrong and hope we convince everyone else of the same lol
i love when he says 'you need a deep rest from the character you've been playing'. something about that statement just really connected for me
his metaphor on depression has me in tears. just wow.
i gotta listen again! i tend to get lost in the comments! lost in the weeds! haha! but they're alive, they grow, and so..

" I played the guy that was free from concern so the people they watch me were free from concern" I feel that.
& to find it, instantly, simply through those words??.... man.. much love.

YES, the sweet art of solitude!
Visit headless.org for assistance with realizing what this is all about.
Life is about living.being truly happy&peaceful.its about smiling to a stranger as you walk down the street, that moment of watching a raindrop land on a leaf, watching a child learn something new, helping someone....a true life has never been about stuff,it's just being at peace with yourself, being kind,loving,...etc all the good stuff your soul has inside♡
christina p lovely and very true!
A little too picturesque. Feeling funny inside doesn't get science or work done. Doesn't cure anything. Doesn't create art or help the world. (Though, it may be useful for an individual to aim for this since it will help the local town and yourself.)
I fear people are being too spiritual and religious and divine about the whole thing here.

Aioqi Forek Amen
Rogerio Frederico wise man !

Beautiful words! May God bless you and increase you in your knowledge!
We need more people like you in this world
I believe we are here to learn from our experiences good and bad in order to grow/evolve
After we die we either reincarnate in a different body back to earth in order to keep learning and growing or we go into a higher dimension if we learned and grew enough spiritually
CronusChaos Your username doesn't match what you just said, LOL. I totally agree with you. :)
How ever you take Jim Carrey some things are undeniable: genuine, searching, intelligent, questioning, lost, brilliant and hummbled.
The famous are going to be like everyone else soon. I like this guy. No ego.
Never ever had a doubt in my mind he was crazy or mad. He is eccentric, intelligent (extremely). He’s a decent human ❤️
‘I believe that I had to become a famous idea, and get the all the stuff people dream about and accomplish a bunch of things that look like success in order in order to give up my attachment to those things’
‘It looks great when you’ve got cool car and you got nice clothes, and you’ve done something people admire... but it can never fulfil you, you can never be happy; it’s not where happiness comes from’
This hit me like a tonne of bricks
Absolute Motivation + Jim Carrey = Greatness
wow. idol worship much?
*idol worship. Blinding. He offered nothing but unsubstantial thought, he examples the very "not mattering" he's talking about. And because of idol worship, y'all swoon over his syllables. Hilarious.*
+Jesus First who is Jesus to you? What does He mean to you in your life? Could you teach me who Jesus is?
Sam Shepherd read the book for your self for no one can save you but you
+Brandon Echavarrieta good job!! way to be ready to give a reason for the hope that is in you!! proud of you. FAILED!!
"I created characters that were free from concern so that people watching, would be free from concern "
How sweet
Thank you Jim for all the parts you played over the years. You are a beautiful shinning light and have been a part of my own healing. All blessings to you for being willing to be so vulnerable. Your movies have been used in our spiritual community to share the loving practice of forgiveness. Peace be with you. Nelda
Jim Carrey, the man, the myth, the legend
Did you not listen to him at all? Affirming his identity is the exact opposite of his point.
"i dont wanna be me, Great! because you never have been." there is something so strange and powerful in that. i about had tears in my eyes.
More people should praise the courage of Jim Carrey for voicing what a whole bunch of people are thinking (including myself). Life is crazy better to acknowledge the craziness and watch it play out then to feel like you have lost your mind. Some call him crazy I say he is experiencing clarity.
I love this guy! He came to his senses.
I always come back to this when i’m feeling down. He makes me feel like i’m not alone.
People who don't understand that this man reached enlightenment in his own way are either too young to understand or just ignorant..
See you seem to be the unawakened one. Stop using others as your dieties or pointers of truth. Find your own truth and don't put others down for not understanding yours or what you think you know. It doesnt matter.
Alex that's facts bro
I cannot believe Mr Carrey has reached total enlightenment. If he has why would he ever do another interview. He is still waking. Once he's reached total enlightenment we won't see him anymore. He won't need to.
It is very hard to teach people to let go think of nothing and reach total peace in order to handle everything in your life . I have done this and I feel comfortable with my life . Good luck to everybody hope you can find this too.
You're quite naive if you truly believe that age would do the trick for most people.
I wish I could have a conversation with Jim. I think he's super insightful. I'm sure I'd walk away feeling enlightened and inspired.
Jim carey woke up from the matrix. Everything is vibration, frecuency and energy in world, Nicola Tesla said that made need to study non matter we will advance in life. All we need is love peace
consciousness power except enter duality, and what we have is a shit show!
Yusuf Abdullah that, and money to pay bills. Just ask Nicola Tesla.
Sounds nice but most people don't give love or peace

@Ralph Why the negativity?
I'm somewhat reminded of a quote from Jim's amnesiac role in The Majestic when he's asked who he was and he replies: "Just a guy trying to figure things out". Thank you, Jim.
Mike Basil. I totally agree! I forgot about that quote
Mike Basil me too
I’m so glad Jim took the time within himself to truly understand this crazy world the best that he possibly could. People in the industry can all learn something from this guy.
Trying to understand it is the problem, we need to move past it to some place better.
What a lovely human being with great wisdom..!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Definitely been stuck in my shed for too long, this... This is what I needed, tears that don't burn, and a loneliness left more so comfortable. I appreciate you stranger, I needed this video.
Jim Carey: Depressed is actually DEEP-REST. Woke asf
@@MaryGarcia-xc1ub in some cases the medication is useful to help people not kill themselves, that's about it
@@MaryGarcia-xc1ub there is NO "one size fits all" answer to depression.
@@MaryGarcia-xc1ub so medicine is bad? What?
@@thelssjbroly9873 Those meds says 1 of the side effects is wanting to end it. No kidding!
@@thelssjbroly9873 I'd say heal naturally, have some weed in moderation, definently excersise, hang out with people isolation makes everything so much worse. Step outside and go on a 15 minute short walk.
