Waves of Disney: Those magical feelings you get as your excitement level grows for Disney. Whether you are planning a big family trip or just walking to your favorite attraction. The Waves of Disney describe the wave of emotions that we get as your excitement for Disney grows and grows.
1. You’re single now...much easier to do this
2. You are thinking about all things re this move...great!
3. You are reaching out to many others for advice...always great!
4. Do your research on where you are going to live...Florida attracts all types of people and as you are alone a lot, always be aware of your surroundings. Watch the local news online to learn.
5. You have an excellent support system from your family...this move doesn’t have to be permanent.
6. We can’t wait to see your next chapter with this move!
jackpast such great points. Thank you
I have lived close to Disney my entire life and have been going for over 35 years.
You are moving here at such a great time with all of the new attractions coming!!!
The Magic will not fade....
Disney has so much new magic coming in the future!!!!
Donald Smith thanks so much. Can’t wait
Hey Michael, we have been here for 4 years and love right by the Magic Kingdom. I get a glimpse of Cinderella castle each morning on my way to work, it has not gotten old and I feel so lucky to live so close! To be able to enjoy Disney any day is truly wonderful! Good luck!
I'm taking lots of notes on your move to Florida! I've been tossing the idea around for about 6 months but honestly since the first time I went to Disney, LOL. Thank you so much for doing the moving videos. I'm so excited for you!!! I'm so happy for you!!!! enjoy every minute!!!
Fear is a normal response, it means you have something to lose but think about how much you will gain. A new level of happiness will come into your life, just like a wave. Wishing you the best Michael!!!! Thank you so much for sharing and opening up to us.
Michael, I have still not moved to Florida, but I have moved nine times in my life. These feelings come with every move. Once you unpack and organize your new home, you’ll start feeling more at peace. You will miss your family, but visits will be even more precious. However, you’ll have new freedoms you have not had yet. Looking forward to new vlogs.
Micheal, I actually cried when I saw this video, my husband and I are planning on moving to Florida when we retire , and even though it's about 10 years away I have been experiencing all the emotions you mentioned. we live on a farm and know as we get older we won't be able to keep it up. But yet there is a fear that creeps in every time I think about moving. Thank you for the video you really helped me put that fear to rest, and I am now looking forward to retirement and what lies ahead in the future 😊
Vicky & Joey P That is our exact situation. We live on a farm that has been in the family since the 40s. We have all the animals and everything that goes with a farm. Our house has many memories but we don't feel like farming forever and won't be able to as we age. Our oldest son and his wife love it and in my opinion let them take over and live in the farmhouse. They need the room (we have two granddaughters ) and they all would really love it. We would like to live near the water somewhere in a condo with no yard. My husband (a city boy lol) has been so supportive all these years and worked hard to keep it going I feel like it's only fair to downsize and move closer to his things he likes to do which I enjoy as well luckily. But it's so hard. Thanks for sharing your story as I was feeling a little alone thinking I was the only one ever to consider this. Deb
Michael, you are correct that the hardest thing will be moving away from your family. As a young adult, and an only child, my parents were my life line. After marriage and twin boys my husband was transfered, so off we went. I remember phone calls to “home” once or twice a day (no texting back then). We did plan trips so we had something to look forward to. But, after a while those twice daily phone calls became daily phone calls then became weekly phone calls as I became more independent. Both myself and my family realized we would all survive. When my children grew to young adults and moved away to college and one to his dream job at Disney it was a sad and proud day. After all, every mother bird wants her children to leave the “nest”. Not to be grim, but as parents we need to be assured that our children can survive on their own without us. A parent’s job is to be there when they fall or fail and encourage them to get up and succeed and follow their dreams.
First. Good morning Michael.
So excited for you to be able to go to Disney World as often as you want!
+ I heard that Florida residents get discounts on Cruises too!!
Rearnold1987 can’t wait!!!
I jokingly wanted to move closer to the magic in my early years. Now, the desire is stronger every day. I will do it in the next 5 years. Looking forward to your videos documenting the move and of course once you're down there seeing you're every day experiences.
Michael, your outlook on this move is not only a great one, but it’s also a great outlook on life. Thanks for sharing and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you, and our community.
HAPPY 35K!!!!!!
Your going to love Florida Micheal!!! And your right next to Disney!! That’s awesome!!! The magic is not going to go away at all!! Your passion is Disney and your pushing that fear of moving to go live your dream!!! I can’t wait!!!!
Michael your fears are perfectly normal actually if you weren’t scared then you should be worried Walt said it best we need to keep moving forward and that’s exactly what you are doing! Welcome to Florida we are so happy to have you here I personally am excited for the possibility that I will actually get to meet you now that you will be here enjoy every moment!
The excitement is shared by us too! It’s understandable that you have some hesitation. But once you get there it will all melt away. You got this! And congratulations!
Steven James oh I hope so!!! Can’t wait
May your passion for all things Disney never fade. Can’t wait to see all the future videos especially the overseas locations!!! Go Michael Go!
I have lived in Florida my entire life...I am a native...it is the BEST state to live in...you will not be disappointed...be sure to visit the beaches...head to South Florida...St. Augustine...the west coast...LOTS to see...and the Keys! You will LOVE the winters...they are a game changer...no more shoveling snow...:) Enjoy and welcome to Florida...the Sunshine State...:)
Michael ~ thanks for sharing your "moving" thoughts... So exciting and yes, you are in charge of your future and your own adventures. You will ALWAYS be in touch and close to your family ~ looking forward to their visit will help bunches. An open invitation to your family is a perfeact way to let them know how you feel. Glad to hear David and your Dad will be helping you with the move. Wishing you lots of happiness and best wishes always; cannot wait to see all your updates.
It’s fantastic to see how excited you are in this video (as well as obviously nervous about the idea of such a big move!). I watched this after watching your first few videos as a Florida resident so it’s great to compare how settled and relaxed and excited you are now living in Florida.
Michael, so well said. This video will be something you re-watch over the next coming months, several times and be able to agree with yourself, that it was worth it and that it is working out, and that it is fun and that the process was scary but also rewarding. It’s like that line, ‘‘had I known I’d live through it, I would have enjoyed it more’’... I like envisioning myself in the future, looking back and saying that everything went well and that everything is ok! You’re smart to embrace all feelings, across the board and know that they’re all important to feel in the process of transitions. So proud of you!
Chari Granstra I hope so! I’m very excited
Hey Michael! You’re doing what my cousin & I say is “stepping out in faith” and that’s a good thing. I did that for my internship with WDW and never regretted it. I, too, am thinking about moving back to Orlando. It’ll be a number of years before it happens, but... I’ve been in contact with an Orlando area realtor that I found on UA-cam - my first steps in faith. Whenever I first went to WDW for my internship and again when I contacted this realtor, I had a nervous excitement. I, too, was going “what if”, but it all turned out wonderfully.
I’ve been enjoying your channel since you had less than 200 subs....when you move, you’ll have 34K friends to go along! Change for the better is good and you won’t lose the magic, you’ll just see more details of the magic now that you’ll be immersed in it!
Michael, I moved away from central Florida 35 years ago, miss it everyday. There is so much to see and do I just know you are going to love it once your nerves settle down.
You have such a great outlook on everything. You’ll do great & have a lot of fun!
Michael, even a good change can have its drawbacks. When you get to Florida, begin to surround yourself with your Disney family so that when your real family is not there you have the support you need. Thanks for sharing your honest feelings. I am confident you will do well.
Good Morning, I know exactly how you feel and what you are going through. I got married in 1994 and came to Disney on my honeymoon. Then again on my 1 year anniversary. We decided to move to the Disney area in 1996 from NYC. We were both 25 and leaving our families behind. It was scary driving down I95 with everything I own behind me in a moving truck. I was way outside my comfort zone going to a new city, new job and new house. It took about a year or so before I was fully comfortable with moving down here. To make it easier my wifes family moved down a year after we did. I think seeing how close you are to your family, they will visit and realize they want to live here also. So it will be tough at first, but it will get better with time. Welcome to Florida!
Moving is one of THE most stressful things humans can ever do. You’re uprooting your entire life and going somewhere else and hoping the new place works perfectly. Its GONNA be stressful and terrifying. Fear is super valid; but it’s also super kick-butt to overcome that fear and push thru.
You got this. We support you. And yep, its gonna be awful and terrifying. But the reward is no doubt worth the leap. 💖
Thanks for continuing to share the magic, be it you being nervous for the future and being open and honest with us, and all the disney news. You’re an absolute superstar. 💖💖
Fingers crossed someday I’ll be financially stable enough to be in the same place. Until then, I’m perpetually living vicariously thru u.
I moved here a year ago and I actually love Disney more now! It is a place where I now meet new friends and I am making even more memories. I LOVE being the go-to Disney expert for everyone I know. I help friends plan trips down, and then I get to meet them at the parks! I love being able to head into the parks for a couple hours, just sit in the Wizarding World at Universal, or on Main St USA in MK, and just relax without having to rush anywhere. I see even more details now in the parks because there is no rush to get on everything in one day. I know you are going to love it down here! You're going to make so many local friends. I wish you all the best and many great blessings! If I see you in the parks, I will be sure to say hello!
I’m a career counselor and I spend my life helping others find careers and a life they love. Something we often look at when faced with a life changing decision is, if it doesn’t work what’s the worse that could happen? Then consider if it does work, what’s the best that will happen? And then finally, if you don’t take the chance how will you feel? In most cases people realize that taking a chance like you are doing, is scary yes, but the feeling of not doing it, living with that eternal question of, would it have worked, is actually much worse than what could happen if they try and it doesn’t work. All experiences, even the ones that don’t work, teach us new things about ourselves and we develop new skills, especially the skill of resilience. Of course, all of this aside, as a Disney fan, this move is a dream come true and we all know that it’s something you have been dreaming about for years. But I wanted you to know that from my professional opinion it also makes sense as you are challenging yourself to grow and develop in the hope of achieving your dreams, and that is always a step in the right direction. I am just so happy for you that you are making your dreams come true 😊❤️
That really is helpful! Thank you
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I look at it this way, you only live once and if this is what makes you happy - then you have to go for it! Just go for it (like you are) and don't look back. We make our own happiness and by you doing what you love to do, you'll have no problems. I'm also glad you are working on ways to get your family down there a LOT. I know how important they are to you. So cheers to this next chapter in your life!
I am beyond excited for your move to Orlando! Can't wait to see more Disney World :)
I moved from California to the East Coast and it was definitely a huge change. However, it was the most amazing experience, the friends I've made, I've met my soulmate, etc etc. YOU will have an amazing time. Of course there will be difficult days but that should never stop you from such an incredible opportunity 🥰 ❤️ You will have an amazing time!
So excited for you, Michael! Our family is relocating at the end of the month due to my husband getting a promotion. We are beyond excited, but very nervous. Definitely a natural feeling! You are going to have such a wonderful time down in Florida with all the magic. Leaving family is certainly the most difficult part of moving, but we are made to live our lives fully and I think our family members understand and support decisions like moving away. I hope packing is going well and you are ready for your next adventure!
How magical!!! Yes, I know that feeling!
You are absolutely right. There is no way to know how this move will turn out for you, but you will never know if you don't try. I felt so badly the other day when someone commented that they wished they hadn't moved. I think it's different for everyone. It will be the biggest adventure of your life, but it sounds like you're as ready as you can be for this. You've gotten advice, and you've thought long and hard about it. I'm looking forward to what you'll bring to your channel. We're cheering for you, Michael. :D
A long story that I won’t get into but I had not been to Disneyworld since 2005 (yikes!). I finally went back with my husband (new one!) and my son and his husband this past April. I can’t even tell you the excitement and joy that I felt upon entering the Magic Kingdom for the first time in 14 years. I kind of locked away that happiness that I always felt when visiting Disney and now it has been unlocked once more and I can’t get enough! I have missed so much over the years and didn’t even realize it! We are going back again in October and I am so excited. I am 57 yrs old and I feel like a kid again! My husband asked me last nite if I would like to live near Disney in the future! Duh.. yeah! My husband is from Morocco and never really understood the Disney Magic but he sees how much happier I am and that is his goal in life... to make me happy! Michael, I am so glad you are following your dreams. I know this will be a magical journey for you and I wish you all the best! Disney is alive and well in ME once more! ❤️
I’m happy for you!!
I have heard people say that knowing how things work ruins the magic. I’m totally the opposite, the more I learn and watch how Aladdin’s carpet flys or how an animatronic figure moves makes it so much cooler. I wish I lived near a park, but im very happy where I am. Your so lucky you get to experience it all first hand now
Aw! I feel ya. Our family just moved from St Louis to NC recently and even though we were excited it was really nerve racking. The first month was tough. We left family and we loved St Louis. I felt blue the first month but focus on making your place look like home. Put the pictures up. Get all your favorite stuff out and schedule your facetime calls with family. I think it helps. Ive moved a few times for a dream and I can tell you Im so glad I did it! I would have had major regrets not doing it.
I have a feeling you have lived in Maryland all your life (?). We moved so much throughout my childhood that moving is no big deal to me anymore. I think I take it for granted that some people have never moved, ever, and how much of a shock it can be. I know you will be fine because your reasons are very specific and you are choosing this path for yourself. No one knows what your future holds, but I do know that this entire process will help teach you things you’ll need later on in life for even bigger changes. No matter what happens, you’ll be glad you took that leap. My husband and I also plan on moving closer to Disney once he retires, probably within the next 10 years. I can’t wait!
Hope you have a magical move Michael! A dream come true! Your videos are going to be awesome with that much access to the parks!
Here’s some advice from my experience: whenever you get lonely just go to the parks. Everything is better when you’re enjoying your favorite place. It’s still an escape from reality, it’s still magical, and it refreshes you until you can come again. Taking things slower at WDW is such a treat, you’re going to love it.
When I did the college program I went to the parks almost every day I could. No magic was lost here as I still go yearly and wish my trips could be longer. Please enjoy this opportunity! So excited for you!
Michael, do it!! don't be scared, I have been a fan of everything Disney since I was very little, I have been to California, Florida and Hong Kong, I'm a DVC member, in other words I love going to the parks. If I had the opportunity, I wouldn't hesitate, the thing is, I live in Mexico City with my partner, so it is more difficult for me to move to Florida. But I guess for you is easier, and I think it is going to be a wonderful experience.
"Fear of success" is such a real thing - stressful to encounter it since being afraid of getting what you want seems to make no sense - it's SO real though and you are not alone and you are approaching all of this with such a healthy POV!!
Thank you!!
I just want to say that I've lived in central Florida all my life, I'm 42 now. Growing up my best friends mom worked at Disney, in different roles and different parks. My family usually had annual passes also so I've been going consistently to walt Disney world since I was 6. The magic has never dimmed for me, between changes and updates there is always something New or different. With all the resorts and other activities there is always something to do. It has been and will always be such a magical place. Orlando it self has many cool and fun things to do and experience also. Your gonna love being here. Just for the record, no one loves the weather but you get used to it 😁
Really enjoying re-watching this series as we are planning to move to the Orlando area in the coming months 💗
Thank you for this video!! It’s amazing how our brains try to protect us by playing upon our worst fears. It really is like an overprotective parent, so good for you for being courageous and rebelling against it! good luck with the move!
Keep moving forward!!! Change and getting out of your comfort zone is always scary, but sometimes the scariest and out of comfort zone things can be the best thing for you. Life is short so go where you are happy and enjoy life!! If it doesn't work you at least tried. Just make sure to be patient with yourself on the adjustment to the change of things. I think this is going to be great for you and am so excited to see what is to come for you in Florida!!!
I can’t wait to see you move!!!!! Please do a vlog on international drive!!
This is a great video! Love your thought process! I going to be sharing this with my husband. Thanks Michael! May the magic you bring to others grow for you!!!
I am so excited for you. The feeling of leaving your family is no doubt the hardest and I know it’s not the same but you can see them through face time or Skype, etc and I am sure they are over the moon excited too and happy for you knowing this is your dream!! ❤️
In the late 80's I was a travel agent in Washington DC and was told by Disney that if I moved to Orlando I could have a job in their growing travel department. I was young and wasn't ready to move at that time of my life and it is something I have often regretted. Who knows where I would be and what my life would have been like. Embrace this opportunity, follow your heart and your dream and enjoy this chance! Best wishes to you and have a magical move. :-)
It's going to be great Michael! I can't wait to follow your adventures as you go to the parks around the world as well!
Aloha & good morning Michael☀️😃 you are the reason why I realize that life is too short not to travel & live life to the fullest with ofcourse having Disney involved! Last year was my first time ever going to Disneyland in California & it gets me excited to travel farther to Florida for Disney World! I mean heck I got my family on board to go on the Wonder Cruise 🚢 this November for our first cruise due to your videos! There’s always that fear on anything and everything new we do in our life especially with the unknown but the fear of the “what if” is probably worse if you think about it down the line if you didn’t do this move. I am excited for the new adventures coming to you (& us bc I watch you daily!) & can’t wait to see what’s yet to come for you! Good luck my friend, you doing this for YOU & your happiness is the greatest of it all ❤️ Have a magical day!
I feel like this entire vlog could be animated with the characters from Inside Out! Much luck to you in Florida! You will be amazing!! Can't wait to see you there!!
Speaking from a parents point of view, we have 4 adult children, 7(almost) grandkids. We have said goodbye to all of them at some point. Overseas jobs which include South Korea, Australia and England, all following their dreams and sense of adventure. Some are back in Canada but live on the other side of the country. Although we miss them terribly, we have skype! We've always encouraged our kids to travel and do what makes them happy. I'm sure your family is behind this 100%. Have fun and know that part of the adventure is planning the next time you will see them! Orlando is not that far!
I am so excited you are going to be a fellow Central Floridian too! We live about a 80 minute drive from Disney but go very often. How close/far from Disney property are you moving (general area)? One piece of advice everyone needs is to get Hurricane supplies as soon as you are settled. Hope to meet you in the parks. Good Luck with the move! :)
I’m so excited for you! Congrats!
I know this was about moving but as a recovering agoraphobic, your feelings were super relatable. I feel like anyone who experiences fear, regardless of what the cause is, they can relate & understand
I moved to Orlando to work for Disney and I’m still here 11 years later! It’s the best decision I ever made ☺️
We are moving to Orland from WA state as soon as our house sells. It was my idea, my wife said yes immediately, but it took me 6 months to agree to it. LOL I know exactly what you are going through. We are vlogging a Moving to Orlando series too.
As many have said, all the feelings you have are totally normal! I am also very close to my family and I moved from the south to west coast for college and then the east coast for grad school and here I stayed. It isn’t easy at first and really the thinking about it before you go is the worst of it. You start to adjust and you find your new groove. It will be okay. And I’m willing to bet that your family will head south before long! Think about this Michael...you will never again have to apply the words “POLAR VORTEX” to your winter experience. Ever. Nope. Flip flops and sun screen. Maybe a hoodie in the dead of winter. ;) but there is no real dead of winter!! No blizzards! Your family will see this and how happy and warm you are and they will hightail it to Florida as fast as their frozen little toes can go! Just wait and see! I’m so excited for you! You are going to have such an incredible new level of Disney! So many people are with you and rooting for you and sending prayers! You will do GREAT!!! ❤️
I actually moved away from Florida and I miss Disney everyday. I was a pass holder for 15 years and even though I moved away from some family, I miss Disney. The magic does not leave, it just changes. You will get to slow down. I have spent day trips just people watching at EPCOT. I miss the comfort of those slow times. I am jealous you get to move there. With your love of Disney, you will love having Disney as your backyard. Consider yourself lucky. Enjoy the new Disney.
Love the videos Michael!!
In order to not take away from the Magic, you should all the Orlando things (not just Disney) at least once. I-Drive, the Orlando Eye, Universal, Busch Gardens, Downtown, etc.
Aidan Vader5 totally agree with this
Even the things not associated with theme parks or world tourism. Central Florida has so much to offer outside of theme parks and I-Drive.
@@stanleygarthwait795 And outside of Central Florida. I live in Orlando and some of the best things to do are in St Augustine in North Florida, and the springs etc.
I am so incredibly excited for you, my friend!!
It all started with a mouse and in your case, it all started with a move to Florida. Our brain fears the unknown. What if thoughts are always tough but taking the leap of faith is what everyone should do. Good on you Michael for being a trailblazer for our community. Now if Dave would just stay 😎. Welcome to Florida. Welcome home.
Every new beginning includes a healthy amount of fear. Just know this...”home” is truly where your heart lives. Taking a risk and moving to where you feel most led to be is brave and exciting. And after a year or so, if you find that the distance from family is too great, you can always move back to the northeast. But take this chance with open arms...we aren’t promised tomorrow...seize the opportunity. No regrets!!!!
First off, welcome to Florida!! It's sunny, it's hot and it's always worth the adventure!
1. This can be completely temporary. My boyfriend was scared to death to go to his dream internship in CA. But I reminded him - it can be completely temporary moving across the country. But you will never wonder what if!
2. This is a whole new world, which means new good and bad things. You will grow as a person! That is an invaluable experience.
3. Support systems travel, so you aren't alone. Your family can FaceTime, call, email, text, etc. and often a change in frequency of seeing can help you guys develop a better relationship. It takes more effort and often makes you cherish and use the time you have to talk to someone.
4. This is your dream!! Even if it isn't as amazing as you think it is, you actually chased your dream! Do you know how rare that is that people are brave enough and get the opportunity to chase your dream?
Anyway, welcome to florida! We are happy to have you! The magic doesn't fade, i've lived all over Florida my whole life - Disney still have SO much magic. I also recommend you get an annual that still has black out dates because being forced to take a break just makes everything so much more special and lovely.
Hello and good morning Michael. I’m so excited for your move to Florida!
How amazing would it be to go on a trip starting in Disney World, then to Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo and ending it where "it all started", Disneyland!
So happy for you!!
All the best with your move Michael! Going to Disney in September and may see you in the parks.
You will not lose your joy of Disney. The WDW couple, Paging Mr Morrow , The Tim Tracker are all local and they have kept all the Magic
I’m looking forward to seeing your new adventures!!!
So are you going to be living like within a 15 min. drive to Disney? I heard you can watch the fireworks from the road. So exciting! My friends live near Andrews Airforce base, and that's a 45 min drive where they were at Disney every weekend. They still love Disney, growing up with Disney every weekend. Don't psych yourself out, all will be good. Change is good, worst case you say this isn't me, and you can always move back to the DC area. You will always be surrounded by friends & family. I'm born & raised in NYC, but I've also lived in Troy, NY; Boston; Rome, IT, and ended up realizing, I'm a New Yorker! All the other places, I loved, but for a weekend, or a week, it's just not in my heart. Don't worry so much, go out there, try new things, be happy, experience life! It will surprise you!
Moving from CA to Upstate NY was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. My sister and I are very close, and it was the first time I would be living further than 30 min from her.
But I’m happier here than I ever was there - I’m around people that share in the same passions as me, in a highly diverse community and in a job that has challenged/surprised me more than any other.
It’s hard sometimes - it’s even harder now that my sister had a baby and I can’t see my niece. But overall it does get easier to deal with. Something that helps is FaceTiming my sister/BIL/niece at Disneyland so it feels like they are on a trip with me. I also use my vacation time to visit them, since I already live in a vacation destination.
And remember, it’s never forever! Life is meant to be filled with changes and opportunities for growth. At least this way you are taking life by your own hands and making the choice for change - which is much more empowering!
Thank you so much! Yes, I can always change it again!
Hi Michael. My husband and I made the move to the Disney area last September. I know what you are going through.. I had the same fears. The move was stressful but I have not regretted it at all! All of the positives realized and fears disappeared! Family was the hardest part... But being in Florida is a big draw for them to visit... Especially in the WINTER! 😊 😉 Making the decision and moving is the most stressful part.. But once you are here you will love it! ❤️😊 I'm not sure where you decided to settle... But fo me I wanted to be away from the busy touristy areas. We settled about 40 minutes away and find it to be perfect. 👌 Clermont is a very nice area.. Just far enough but still close... Lots of nice places in Orlando too. The one thing that was also hard was the unfamiliarity of living in a new area.. Not knowing where anything is! Be patient it will take time for it to become your new home.. I'm not using the GPS as much anymore! 😂
You have broken through the terror barrier and overcome your old paradigm.
That is where freedom is found.
You will not regret this.
So proud of you Michael!😃
Hey Michael, in 1992 I was 37 years old. I was married I had three kids at the time and I had the opportunity to move from New Jersey to North Carolina. So I talk to my boss at the time and he says John if you don’t do this you’ll be saying to yourself what F! He said that’s the worst feeling in the world when your gut says do one thing and you’re afraid to make the move. Needless to say we made the move and it was the best move I ever made of course it’s the not knowing but after a while you adjust and you fit in and you make new friends you’ll do fine where you are because you’re good at what you do just keep up the good work good luck to you
So here's a second thought... I put that first comment below when the video had just first started but now that I watched the whole video I want to add some more comments. First of all, I just have to tell you how so excited I am for you to get to do this. I know there are so many Disney fans that would love to move to Florida and they can't for a variety of different reasons. You are smart to plan ahead to have your family visit because I know for me, when I have plans to look forward to it helps keep me going in so many ways. You and I are so much alike in our thinking. I actually haven't been to any of the four Disney parks in over a month because I usually don't like to go when it's super hot cuz it's really uncomfortable. LOL but I was just talking to my husband last night and I said I think a trip to one of the Park's is due even though it's hot. Lol I just love it as much as you do and trust me, the magic will never go away.
My mom’s cousin lives 5-10 mins away from Magic kingdom and when we visited them we watched the fireworks from their front yard. His new born daughter is lucky to get to experience that whenever she wants.
Wow! Sounds magical!
Thank you for this video! I'm going through the exact same process as you! My family moves there on July 24th. We have to do this all within a month. We also have two kids and a rabbit. The movers are here July 22-23 😳 Our realtors are great and assure us our home will sell without us in it so we're all going the same time. We're also still in the process of getting the kids in a private school and we need to get a house. All of this is a lot of work but I tell myself it's worth it in the end. I'm sure we'll eventually see you around. 😃
So glad it helped!
I am so excited for you Michael and cant wait for the move and all the experiences you will have.
We are preparing for a very different time in our lives. Moving in with my mom. This helps her as she wont be alone and it helps us financially.
I do hope in the future to live in other places. For now we will do whats needed and hope for the best.
Thank you so much Michael. 💖💖💖
Planning time with your family sounds like a great idea. Way to be an inspiration that sometimes to attain your dreams or experience life, you have to take chances and move outside your comfort zone. BTW, when do you start your job? I know your moving The weekend of the 13th, I hope you aren’t starting that Monday. Have a magical day!!
I think planning specific dates with your family is very smart. That will make it so much easier! You are SO brave for making this leap. It will be so amazing!!!
My way of deciding big things like this is which decision would I have the biggest regret of not trying. My grandad said many years ago, try to live life without regrets. Do that and you’ll never be unhappy.
Nathan Turtle great point
I really wanna move closer to Disney world in the future but I’ve never done it before. My friends have just moved a month ago and they love it. They only go to Disney world when their friends or family come to visit.
Michael, how will the block out dates for Florida residents Annual Pass affect your Magical Days there? I have never really heard any of the Florida residents say much about their block out days and vlogging. Very curious about this and hope it doesn't take away from your Disney Magic.
I know its scary but i really believe your doing the right thing. There are no negatives to this amazing change in your life, if it ends up not working out then its better to regret something that you did do then something that you never did, the absolute worst case scenario is that you move back after a few years (which you won't) but at least you did it! The family visits will work itself out.
Re watching this as we are about to make the move ourselves. Nervous as can be, but taking the chance.
Exciting news for you. I really hope you start vlogging your life in Orlando not just the parks. Also some new attractions and other non Disney parks. I am so looking forward to coming along with you through your videos.
We moved from Maryland last year leaving family behind. I miss them but they know where I am and they have already visited or have plans to visit. I also travel back to Baltimore to see them. We are happier here than we ever were in Maryland. You are not alone in your fears, it’s normal.
I’m so glad!!!! Thank you
Fear of the unknown and change, in general, are challenging. Live without regrets. As a very very wise woman (my Mom) used to tell me all the time, "We will ALL be alright.".
Casually was woken up from an aftershock now watching this lovely video. 😂👌🏽. I’ve always wanted to move to Florida
Are you guys okay in LA??
Be safe
I grew up 45 minutes from the parks and now I live 2 hours south! Living close to the magic just makes it feel more like home!❤️
Takes a lot of bravery to go after your dream. Wish you the best of luck and am certain it will live up to all your expectations 👍👍🙂
We'll make sure you don't regret this move 😍 try to visit the beach, there's so much to experience beyond the parks, you'll love it. Try to visit your family every 6 months that helps me personally.
Your feelings about your move are completely normal. When I did, I went through a lot of the same. I took my daughter (12 at the time) which made the move easier.
But it was frightening. I didn’t know anybody, new job, what if I didn’t like living at the beach, etc.
And while I no longer live in Florida, I view the entire experience positively.
Enjoy the process! Relish all of it.
Hi Michael
The truth of 'Inside Out' is what made it such a great movie. The move away from family would be the hard part for us as well. Hugs to you for loving them like you do.
