So I’m not the only that keeps going back to this after a decade. This game, its story and music were amazing.

Oh I forgot the moment this plays in the game, but I think it was on the Yonoa submarine.

I played it... It's... fine. Like it's the same story and everything, just with better graphics and rearanged songs...
Tho, I'm a bit disappointed in the rearranged version of this song in particular... It lost it's charm for me... Like... it sounds too "digital" for lack of a better word. And some parts are harder to hear now that had more emphasis in this version here...
As I said. Game is still good (if you ignore some mistakes like some text being taken straight out of the DS version without any changes... Like one text mentioning the "top screen", more difficult controls to move due to no touch screen... At least if you play with the Switch plugged into the TV, and that the only extra content added are some stupid slide puzzles...).
Man... When I got that level and this music played, I legit got panic and didn't want to fail. I was seriously nervous about this...
The music was just perfect for this. It made you nervous, but also gave you some feeling of hope...
I kind of feel like the unique music for puzzling on the Yonoa reflects Sissel's change in mindset. The stakes are higher now because he's not just helping Lynne and Kamila purely for his own gain anymore; he's grown attached and genuinely cares about keeping them safe the way Missile does. On the sub, Sissel's responses are more urgent than usual when Lynne reacts to the water rising; he even momentarily freaks out when he can't force the door open to save them from drowning. We also see later (in the ten year jump to the past) that he wants to prevent Lynne's death altogether so she doesn't have to retain the trauma of being crushed after a fate change.

The reaction of Sissel towards the water could also be a little hint to him being a cat and therefore (probably) being afraid of water... Like the game has countless hints on Sissel's true self in game dialogues (Like how Sissel mentions to also prefer dark spaces).
@@andre_601 That's entirely possible. Hell, even Sissel's name itself is a hint (Sisal's the twine material that makes up scratching posts for cats).
am I the only one who thinks that this version is way better than the new arranged version we got from the re-release?
sure the new one is supposed to be more epic sounding and all, but there's something about the simplicity of the instruments of this one that gives it a more clean sounding melody
if I were to nitpick my problems with the new one, I would say that the instrument used for the main melody of the song is way too heavy that it starts to blend in with the other instruments in the background which are also heavy, so that beautiful composition of the fake reverb from the melody just gets outshined by all of the instruments that are supposed to only give it support.
The arranged versions have less impact, in my opinion. I definitely agree that the instruments blend together.
Agree. I listened to both and the arranged version is just... dull... No real impact or anything.
It sounds too much like an orchestra, which this one here certainly isn't given some of its synth-like sounds....

came listen to this ost again....also learned that there is 2 version of it.....heard this ost for the first time from Invictus mario romhack bout 2-3 years ago...rly like the osts selections that some romhack makers pick(dw not forgetting you ppl that assisted with the osts handpicking for them XD)
