Stay safe out there everyone, always wear gear. In June I was on my Kaabo Wolf 11 and a F-150 pulled out in front of me turning into my lane, I panic breaked and came off the scooter at 40mph and hit the truck and broke my foot in 8 places. Metal plate in there now, still not walking right. Had all gear on including a bookbag which probably saved my back, but only had steel toe shoes on. I'd argue one should consider a riding boot, to help save the foot from what I went through. Practice very hard breaking as well. Although I was so close, I am not sure anyone could have stopped it in time. Will never know. Not trying to be a downer and dissuade people from riding, just saying WEAR GEAR ALWAYS. I'd be much worse without all the gear I had on.

Damn bro, well I’m glad you’re safe and alive. Yeah one those motorcycle boots is a must at those speeds. I ride my Dualtron Thunder on parks, trails, just away from cars. I can’t afford getting hit by a vehicle.

@@razorraysolarsavings70 I was very glad, I had invested in decent shin, knee and elbow guards. Had a motorcycle grade helmet on. All of them most certainly saved me from further injury. I just wish I could have stayed on, I think I got to a point in the travel of the front brake leaver where it locked the front wheel, in my absolute desperation to try to stop. But at 40ish, I definitely was clearing the 25ish foot distance in less than a second, almost zero time to react. Literally all I remember was processing the truck in my lane, brake, flipping and sliding. Scary stuff. For sure stay away from the cars haha.

In this video you mentioned PMT Tires twice. I have a set of PMT Tires on my 72v 35a BlueTrans Lightning and the tires are amazing, so much better than stock tires. If you put a set of PMT Tires on the Dualtron Storm Limited you just reviewed you will not be disappointed. For the scooter community if you own a high end scooter running stock tires the quality of your riding experience is night and day. The PMT Tires are pricy but so so worth it. One scooter head to the next.

James that is very cool you have the BlueTrans if you switch to the PMT’s you will not regret it and they do make them for tubeless. Have you upgraded your front suspension from adjustable to fixed? It’s a must do for the BlueTrans. And William contact WYRD RYDS I’m pretty sure they carry the PMT’s you need.

Considering the amount of footage I've posted on the Dualtron X2, I'm partially of the mind to think that I should be the ambassador of the Dualtron X line! 😂 I would have purchased the X-Limited as soon as it dropped but I'm up to my ears with my investment in the Rion Thrust still pending.
My good friend Gal has kept in touch with me to reassure me that I'll have the Rion Thrust soon and all I'll say for now is that the hyper-scooter world will be shocked and naysayers will be silenced.

I recommend doing maybe 30-50mph acceleration test instead of 0-30? Wheels cant get traction even with 5000w and really comes down to stance and throttle control when taking off from 0.

Thanks for another great review Paul! It is cool to see the evolution of e-scooters. I am glad I had an opportunity to ride the early dual power scooters during my PEV journey. I still ride hyper portable scooters for some of my use cases (i.e. going to gym and quick errands near the house). There is a fun factor diminishing returns for me when it comes to scooters. Adding speed just never really increased the fun factor. I find it kinda boring to ride scooters for prolonged periods of time at any speed. At the power scooter speeds I would rather just ride a motorcycle since you have already lost real portability. Hence, I just went back to the Mosquito class scooters that can hit 25MPH, get enough range and are ultra portable for throwing them in the trunk or mixed modal transport (i.e. BART and Caltrain).
The hands-free, skill-based riding of electric unicycles for me has been on a completely different level of fun and engagement. Now, that I have thousands of miles of riding EUC and can keep up with traffic getting around San Francisco is just magical now. Riding anywhere on an EUC is just magical and continues to get better with time and increased capabilities (both rider and EUC). I have watched a very steady transition from power e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-skateboards to EUC. The big group rides I have been participating in have far fewer power-scooters and power e-bikes these days. Many of my fellow riders have sold their scooters, e-bikes, and e-skateboards to get into EUCs and the trend has only accelerated over the past 3 years.

Im more of an eskate dude, but then again I got a machine doing 60mph, I also have 3 kids and I mostly never go past 30 sometimes 40 because its so easy to get into an accident and tbh what im after is the city surfing feel. As an old snowboarder living where theres no snow now this is the closest I can get. Some great music in the ear and just glide. And EUC has that effect too, great feeling as you're becoming one with the ride. Great comment btw.

speaking with dualtron greece, the official retailer of all minimotors, nami electric and tromox products for greece, dualtrons should never be used under heavy rain, personally I rode my dt thunder 2 under light rain many times but not under heavy rain, the main problem is the heat sink of the controllers and the ey3 throttle, the latter can be fixed by buying a "kapoteks" ey3 cover and I would recommend it since 25$ is objectively better than a possible 110$ damage, there seems to be no reliable way to waterproof the heatsink and if you manage to do so you will compromise it's cooling capability so from my experience if you live in places where it rains a lot a nami or a kaboo are the only options in this price range, here in greece heavy rain is uncommon so I manage to have riding capable wheather at least 280 days of the year so im absolutely fine by it but for those who live in countries with wet climates then pls don't buy a dualtron because you sooner or later will end up with several hundred dollars of damage that are not warranty covered. Dualtron themselves say that their scooters are extremely beefy but long term exposure to water will take them down. Other than that for those who end up buying a dualtron, be known that in a city environment with the appropriate p9 setting you can cover any commute need you gonna have, be 5 to 6 hours in a row delivering, especially with the bigger ones and Im really happy that they do give higher batteries with their high powered scooters cause these things consume through battery like butter when they go full speed (my dt thunder 2 in a city environment manages little over 60 kilometers with full power, probably because of the frequent stop and start and my weight which is 1-5 kg (231 lbs) but even with my light obesity I can stretch my battery to 100 kilometers by limiting my top speed to 50-60 kmh and travelling outskirts where the are plenty of straights and less traffic. The reason Im saying the above is because I have seen that with these escooters range is compromised massively as you get closer to their weight limit so I think it is a good idea to start doing an additional range test to these with a driver close to their weight limit(stock suspension). Other than that a great review of yet another solid offering by minimotors and I can't wait for the x limited review as it seems absolutely bongers

I had one of the defective ones before selling it to get a Burn E. Couple of takeaways, that I will mention here. The front of the scooter and the steering is super light, you will need the steer damper. The suspension is really not good for this price point, Dualtron needs to get with the program and add an adjustable suspension that is closer to the Burn E. Still have the creaky stem, and the rear foot rest is seperate from the body so every bump your going to feel in that rear foot. Handlebars are pretty thin, if your a bigger person or someone with wide shoulders you might not like them.

The GT2? That's a great question. To be completely honest, I think it's because I tend to lean on my graphs of tested top speed vs price, tested range vs price, Top speed vs weight, etc in order to find the closest competitors near a given price, but if I keep doing that I'm going to forever overlook the ride quality and build quality of the GT2 which *is* truly outstanding. I rode the GT2 back to back with the Wolf King GT an Storm Limited last week and while it's not as brutally quick, it definitely deserves to be considered because it's just so well engineered. I'll think about that the next time I put a list of competitors together. Thanks for the comment. Always something to learn in every comments section. -Paul

The video covers the top speeds as well. -Paul

Fastest what? My storm hits 62 np on flat ground with a seat kit and me being 200lbs and wearing a backpack.
The limited , if your settings are correct and that is key has to beat that. However regardless of what the original storm is advertised as having on a new fully charged battery the voltage reads 83.7. That is basically 84 although it is not exactly 84 which is why they advertise it as 72 but a nominal 72.
I would tell anyone if their storm or storm limited is not hitting those speeds call minimotors usa and ask them how to max out your settings. It is not simply turn off eco and put it in 3. There is a battery drain setting that can be set to give your scooter max power every time you squeeze the trigger. This will only give you 30 mile range but allow one to reach those speeds. Especially with the limited if its advertised to hit 70mph it will but at that point its a matter of if you should or not. That is why I got the seat kit.

4k+ USD scooters with square wave controllers, some have sine wave... I suppose no settings for ramping times, motor/battery amps, different power for front vs back... VESC controllers have been out for many years and these scooters still use these medieval ones , that's a crime...

Weped are crazy expensive and just 10mph higher top speed over wolf king gt or the better Nami bern-e 2 max which gets to 62 mph quicker than gt and better off road . Either those 2 are best available option for ppl after 100kph scooter .

Dualtron has got to drop that archaic EY3/4 screen! It sucks and is just so outdated! Dualtron has other issues but I will never consider a Dualtron as long as they fail to upgrade their E-Scooter's screen! I do love the new controls cluster on the left side of the cockpit, so I'm not sure why they haven't improved on their Itty bitty little old fashioned screen!

Where do you get your stats from thats what i don't like about your channel you always get the top speed and range wrong the reg 72v dualtron storm does not do only 51mph try more like 58mph my dualtron ultra 2 tops out at 62mph with a full battery get your stats right!

Nami bern-e 2 max beats wolf gt in drag race and better off road durability, and with single carbon fibre stem vs dual stem on wolf gt it's far quicker to fold . Both basically same price . Imo if happy spending x amount on either above I'd just save up another 33% and buy a rion re90-80 or thrust and feel great knowing it'll take a decade before something catches up to performance, light weight and insanely short battery charging time of rion scooters, 140+kph 35 kg weight with 2.5 hr recharge time vs 100-110 kph 50-65kg 8hr recharge using dual charger set-up 👉🤪💨, .

I've been hesitant to purchase one only because the next generation batteries will arrive in May 2023. The price is so low still to high. $5,000 is ridiculously high for such poor distance and heavy weight. This would have to drop $2000. Eco Bicycles with better range and performance.

A complete waste of money. I can guarantee that the are no scooter riders that regularly ride over 35 mph for sustained distances. Even experienced racers do not maintain over 50 mph while racing. Scooters just do not provide adequate base of support stability for this kind of speed.
