Liliac has a lot of talent. Musicianship is really good and Melody's vocals are spectacular. I found The Warning and Liliac at the same time. For me it's all about song writing. This is my opinion but The Warning just writes much better songs. That's the thing.
I have never understood why there should be any rivalry between fan groups. There’s plenty of room in the world of music for both bands. While I am primarily a TW fan, I have always appreciated Liliac’s musicianship and their covers, and Melody has a powerful and unique voice. However, I do agree with Dave that for me, their originals have been hit or miss, and if they want to make it to the next level, they need to focus on original music just as TW did years ago. This will probably be unpopular speculation with Liliac fans, but I wonder sometimes how much influence their father has on their creative choices and whether at some point, it might be necessary to bring in outside management or advice, since I’m not sure he has always made the right choices with regards to what they do.

Troll, troll! Actually, you have a point. The Warning's parents have said that they don't even know what the band is composing until it's done (or if asked to comment, e.g., Spanish/English translations) and, if they object, give way to the girls' will, e.g., Copper Bullets. Liliac are obviously a group of talented kids who, if allowed to repeatedly flex their creative muscles without interference, will most likely come up with more cool stuff.

Couldn't agree more about the whole rivalry deal. I'm more of a Lilac fang, but there's no question that the ladies of The Warning rock their asses off, too. There's definitely room for both, so the success of one doesn't hurt the other at all.
TW reminds me of Metallica while Liliac reminds me of DIO Love them both great powerful vocals, performance and energy they bring let's enjoy both no rivalry please
They have to overcome the public's impression that their volume of covers defines them. They are obviously great musicians as their meticulously performed covers attest, but their original music has never impressed me that much. This song is an exception, as it points to their experimentation. As a member of TWA, I can tell you that most of those who follow TW could not care less about the petty rivalry between the band's fanbases. It originated from an off hand comment Melody made a while back when she was asked if they would open for TW and she said TW could open for them. She recanted that statement later on. That's good enough for me. The Fangs fight with TWA from my perspective seems mostly on their side of the fence. Having said that, there are members of TWA who will never forgive "the bats". Whatever. I don't think either TW or Liliac harbor any ill feelings toward one another. The fanbases would do well to respect that. I also think you are basically right about TW's music being out of its time, but I also think they are experimenting with their sound as well and their newest stuff that we have heard from their October headliner shows in Mexico back is a departure from 80s style sound. I think they are fusing elements of modern pop music with more classic Rock sounds. That is exciting and I'm looking forward to it.

Old news from LONG ago...yet some refuse to just let it go and just enjoy the music...and BOTH do covers, sometimes the SAME cover...get over thy self.
Who cares if they do covers or not ,its music and if done well they are great , ,and Liliac is one of the best at taking classic rock and metal songs and making them their own but having released over three dozen original songs in a relatively short space of time Liliac can't be classed as a cover band One thing I definitely agree with you on is that Liliac and The Warning are two totally different bands with totally different sounds ,looks and productions, and I think that it's only a rabid hard core few fans of both bands that are fuelling the animosity that is supposed to exist between them , most people like them both. I witnessed the same rivalry between The Beatles and the Rolling Stones in their fledgling years ,and look what both bands achieved . This song by any reasonable reviewer's .measure is a good , well written, produced and performed offering, worthy of at least a second listen . A good honest reaction keep them coming FANG4LIFE RORH

the biggest mistake Lilliac ever made was to appear on the talent shows, i think all that did was to inflate their perception of where they were at, and in all honesty i think their lazy are not 100% invested and don't work near hard enough, they put out an album in 2023 and would have done barely 30 - 40 shows for the whole year and even then 1/2 their sets were covers, their idea of marketing is supplying a link and telling their fans to promote it, hence them trying to shortcut their way by doing covers and spending way too much time trying to recreate others sound and transfer that to their original music, rather than concentrating on developing their own unique sound, they are all over the place there is nothing distinctly Lilliac in any of their originals other than Melody trying recreate Dio's vocals in every song they have not learnt restraint, just because you can do it doesn't necessarily mean you have to, and until such time as they bite the bullet and hire the best experienced producer they can afford, someone who not afraid to say how it is and address their flaws and help them develop their own unique style, they will be just another copy/ paste cover band and anyone disputing that they are not a cover band just have a look at their original single Carousel they released 7mths ago has 433k views against their latest cover Heaven and Hell released 2 weeks ago having 610k views and its the same story with any of their originals vs covers and it has nothing to do with being independent or being signed

@@danielferrari891 those have taken 3 - 5 years to get those numbers now measure them against the covers they did around the same time, the covers are vastly more successful and sadly for them any musician can learn and play covers, and in todays competitive music market you need to have something original to stand out and there is nothing about Lilliacs original material that stands out and they are doin nothing to rectify that
My 2 cents:
I discovered Liliac a few months before I discovered The Warning (around 2017-18). There is no doubt that Sam is a phenomenal guitar player and Melody can belt with the best of them. What has separated the bands, however, has been the Warning’s desire to put their own Art (as Dany describes it) out into the World while Liliac has been putting out Perfect covers. Pau is…well…Pau. Her lyrics and musicianship are complemented by her sister’s incredible talent. They constantly are working on new music while Liliac uses its time in learning and re-doing the music of others. Which ultimately sets them back. “Yeah. It’s cool; but what ELSE can you do? Are you a Musician, or are you a technician?”. This will be unpopular, but one of the biggest things holding her back is Melody’s “need” to be under the wing of Ronnie James Dio. She even changed her name to MeloDia….as in the feminine version of MeloDio. It holds her back. She needs to write her own music-go back to being Melody!
The Warning has out-paced Liliac and will continue to do so until Liliac defines/discovers who they truly are!

I didn't really like this song the first time I heard it but after listening to it a few times, I have come to love this song. Melody's vocals on this are really what makes it work. I am so happy Liliac is not trying to play today's style music. We have too much of current style music already. There has never been a greater time in music than the 1970' and 1980's. I think Liliac is doing a great job of producing both original and covers in a good mix.
As a long time TW fan I’ve never understood this “rivalry” with Liliac. I’ve been a member of TW’s Patreon four years and I’ve never even seen a discusión of Liliac there. I’ve dealt with plenty of troll comments on YT reactions of TW, but none of them identified themselves as Liliac supporters. I’m admittedly not a Liliac fan but I’ve also never made any negative comments about them. TWA by and large conduct themselves in a very positive manner, much as the band does. There’s just too many good things to focus on with the sisters to get caught up in a contrived competition with the angry segment of Liliac’s fanbase.
Funny how I never see any comments in The Warning videos where anyone even mentions Liliac. Perhaps I missed them, but I don't think so. The groups are completely different in the music they produce and their image. For me I'm more of a Warning fan but also enjoy Liliac. This song was good. I think what holds Liliac back is their dad. I think outside influence would give Liliac a much-needed infusion of new ideas and direction.
Don't care for this song, and I was a fan of them before I discovered The Warning and still am. I have seen Liliac live but have not yet seen The Warning live. They are both great bands. I will admit I was a bigger fan of Liliac before the haircuts. The look was cooler for rock. Awesome song. One of the best I've heard from them so far. Sam by himself was very good, but I was glad to see Melody join in. Their combined energy really lifted the song at the end. It does have a classic rock style, yet it still comes across as very original and well composed. I enjoy their covers as much as anyone, but their original material is what will keep me checking their new releases.
Was written BY Sam. Yes they hid the Keytar from your sensitive eyes....Melody sings back-up, having told Sam he HAD to sing the lead....song is dedicated to the Keyboard player...

I like this a lot! The guitar player has a great voice and the combination really works. The transition from Melody's scream to the guitar was predictable but perfectly done. If I was in charge, I would clarify the lyrics a bit and mix Melody just a hair louder. Your commentary is great. Subbed in Canada.
This is a good song. I like the honesty. What infuriates me about Liliac is all the dissing of record labels. We get it they are independent. No question a band can succeed that way. But other bands are signed and can succeed both financially and artistically as a label band. Yes, it's true labels can also screw things up but so can bands that are so stuck in the past that they don't evolve. Liliac has made their own choices and I respect that. But don't use it as an excuse. It grows old.
The record label that wanted to sign Liliac offered them a horrible deal.

@@rockrap6240 I didn't say they haven't had other offers. They have chosen to remain Independent because of the great and loyal fanbase they have built among other reasons. Sure they could sign to a label if they wanted to and take the quick and easy way. They are not opposed to it but it has to be the right deal.
Their fans are half the problem with the rivalry, although that has subsided dramatically since they faced the reality that Liliac is never going to be anything more than a cruise ship band. Whatshername from Liliac created a ton of drama a while back when she said The Warning would open for them if they toured together. Meanwhile TW was enjoying huge success that Liliac still hasn’t achieved.

I agree. I am not even sure if the Warning ever heard what Melody said, and I know they never responded to Melody. To this date I have not listened to a Liliac song , no, not even this one. I am of course a TW Army for life. I only knew about it when a TW Reactor put the squabble about it. I have watched most all of the Interviews with The Warning, and They are so humble and when Allison asked about If they knew about Nandy Budsnell Dany says she has encouragement and said "I think she could teach us a few things. They have never felt above another band at all. I also usually just unsubscribe from a reactor that keeps doing Liliac.
Larkin Poe did a cruise and survived. Now, TW are going on a cruise. I trust they'll survive the experience, too. I hope the same for Liliac!

Liliac started performing this towards the end of their 2023 tour. It's absolutely amazing live. I won't lie, I cried 😂 Carousel was a blast. I was able to take my grandson to be in the video. As far as a rivalry between the fan pages, I'm an admin on their official fangs cave page and I don't see it. Once in a while we get someone making a comment regarding The Warning and it's usually a fan saying the Warning is better. It's always out of context for the post 😂 but we just ignore it and delete the comment. Several of our admins and mods are Warning fans too so we don't put up with the rivalry crap 😊

Im a fan of both bands. Youre right...the music styles are very different. The Warning produces more to-date music and has received more world wide success by signing a record contract. Liliac seems to stay focused on controlling their own path which is fine, but I dont see them moving any further than a UA-cam sensation. They both put out quality music, but I see different career paths...unless Liliac makes some changes soon. I love Melody's voice which is made for rock, but how long can a family band stay together which such wide age differences. We'll see...I wish them nothing but success in whatever direction they choose.
I agree with you, I'm a big fan of LILIAC, I have listened to TW, I think both bands have tremendous talent, but it seems that TW girls are focused on touring non stop , while the LILIAC family is doing what they want to do when they want to! Ones signed and under contract and ones independent. But the question I have is how long will LILIAC remain together as a complete family band? Are they going to tour on the big stages with other big bands ? Will they be allowed to with other signed bands under contract ? Lots of things to consider,
I think that TW's management and commercial relationships are powering their ascent, to their benefit. I imagine the boardroom wrangling that got them placed in the VMAs - Pepsi owns Frito-Lay which owns Doritos, and Lava/Republic/UMG is a monster record company who, it seems to me, chose to flex their muscles due to successful lobbying by TW's A&R people at Lava. Just my guesses, of course. The minutes of the VMAs show are a very valuable resource for MTV to allocate to a band that wasn't even a nominee.
@@rexwave4624 I think youre right, but I also think that the people in charge see TW as a gimmick band that is unique being all sisters playing heavy music out of Mexico. To me, TW always had a step up on Liliac because of their unique appeal, but also writing great music.

My initial attraction to TW might have been pretty girls playing amazing music, but after seeing them live three times and absorbing the lore, I'm down to the thrill of great music. For example, I got excited hearing Dany's new notes and Ale's new vocal power in HYCAD. But, at the top, they may not be fans like me (and presumably you), but opportunists acknowledging a marketing opportunity, as you say.

I think thats proven by their following, but never underestimate the all mighty dollar and the purpose behind a record exec. I think TW can stand alone on their talent...I just hope thats what initiated their contract signing. They put out a lot of fantastic original music so let them stand on their talent alone. What a bunch of children. When I was 12 yrs old, I looked at my albums and had to decide between Boston, Led Zepp, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, etc. (Paper boy money). I didn’t argue with other people who were better. They are both great bands and great msicians and I listen to whoever I'm in the mood for, just like when I was 12. Stop being judgemental, I don't believe either band would want their fans to be rude or nasty to any other band or their fans. It's MUSIC, LISTEN OR DON'T LISTEN! Go to their concerts or don't, you don't need to bad mouth each other like this. I LOVE BOTH BANDS!!
They have to make covers to hold the interrest.Remember they are independed and do all videos and editing.Everything themself.
Was based on a true story...that involved the Keyboard player....the entire album tells a story, from start to finish...and, you HAVE to listen to the ENTIRE album....or wait around to hear "Delusion" coming up. Jan. 16th Liliac will start filming another ORIGINAL songs..from this album.."Rise Up!"
So..an album of 11 original songs? none are the popular cookie cutter slop some backs crank out, because their Record Label forces them to...again, a clue-less reaction..
Rivalry means progress. So why blaming it? Let it be rivalry in rock music, that will bring us more brilliant songs and albums. Back in the 70's we fought about Purple, Zeppelin, Heep or Sabbath supremacy. Who cares about those fights now, after 50 years? We love them all!
A fairly good song, would like to see it live. They are gaining some traction now it seems getting some opening tour gigs.
Hey Dave! I thought your reaction was quite fair, along with your explanation for your opinions. I can understand your concern for their covers putting them in a category of cover band, but I think that if Liliac isn't putting out a new song at least once a month, they start to become irrelevant in today's hectic music scene. So a cover or two between albums can keep the public's attention. Just my opinion. Keep up the great reactions, and Happy New Year! Peace!
Great reaction! I have to say im with you on take it or leave it with their music. I discovered them when their YT video of crazy train came out in California they were awesome and very talented, but when they started writing their own music for me, it just wasn't there. And as far as the rivalry with The Warning, there is none! The Warning is much more advances there no catching up!
A better comparison for The Warning is Greta van Fleet as they are labelmates and closer to the same level. Liliac doesn't fit there. Like the tune. Fair reaction.

Rivalry ? Sounds like something made up by UA-cam dudes making drama. People have preferences and will compare. That’s not rivalry.
There are a select group of fans, a small minority, that dont like that The Warning has done so much more commercially than Liliac. They put it down to the fact that they have a label, that they have used their looks to get ahead, that they write songs that are too pop driven etc. Non o f which i believe to be the case. I simply think its been a case of hard work, good song writing and having a constant goal. For liliac thy have the passion to do the music but for years they struggled to work out what the band was about and what their sound was. Even today it still seems unsure, its like they are hedging their bets on trying to appeal to various groups and seeing which one takes. If it were me i would focus on getting a cohesive look and focus on the writing of an album and then re launch the band. I would also avoid covers for atleast 2 years, if the originals are good enough they can build a fan base on those from their current fans etc.

Both good bands, but they do different types of music. It is unfair to both bands to compare them.
For both came for the thumbnail and stayed for the music for both
If there is a rivalry, it is a stupid one. Liliac would be a great opener for The Warning's April European run. Would be good for both bands.
I 've found that most reactors will side with the band that has the most fans . Kind of like politicians . Now that the cute little gals have grown up and become just another gal band their pre teeny bopper fans will be searching for another kids band .
The melodrama is a substitute for emotional connection. This is one of the only Liliac songs that feels like it comes from the heart. As such, the arms flailing don't bother me here.

I think The Warning as a whole are the phenom. They’re the whole package and it’s hard to find a fault between the three of them. Other than maybe they’re a little short. But it’s the whole package that makes them succeed.
When you state your opinion as fact you lose all credibility. I prefer TW all day long. That’s my opinion…see the difference?
I would say Melody has a very strong and distinct vocal delivery and that makes her stand out in a good way from many of the other vocalists out there. I personally think she reall needs to work out what is best for her and put a plan together. Her theatrical performance can sometimes feel un balanced and this can be a distraction. She has alot of potential.

When you make a review of a band, never name another band, act like an adult, not like a young fan.
The fans started it so now i just cover it in the videos as otherwise i have to spend forever responding to comments as all i got in the comments on one of the first Liliac videos was comparisons to The Warning and Motion Device and how one is better than the other etc etc. So in this video i thought let me get that out the way in the actual video so i dont have to respond so much in the comments, unfortunately all its meant is im now having to do a whole lot of different replies lol.
Sam used to be lead singer when they were the cristeas. Sam wrote it and melody said you sing lead and she would back him up, great theme in this song

Considering from my experience I only ever see The Warning fans is when they come to a Liliac video or reaction to bash Liliac and promote The Warning. Half the reason I don't listen to more TW is because of that.
That comment came from some fangs on a TW Video i did awhile back so hence the thumbnail. I will say that on the most recent TW video i did over on ADK Channel we didnt get any Fans commenting.

Most bands start out doing covers, that's just the way it is.

You can say you think one or the other is your personal favorite or both are good.
I personally prefer Liliac's vocals and musicianship but they are both good bands.
Oh there have been plenty of examples of liliac fans trashing the Warning… Don’t fall for that. It was from both sides and we all know it started with a misunderstood comment from liliac, which a very small handful of The Warning fans took completely wrong. That is all water under the bridge.
But the hate was equal from both sides, if you are honest, and it was just human nature. Fans are protective of their favourite band. It’s all totally normal.

@@don-music Maybe not so much water under the bridge since The Warning fans bring it up quite often. Melody apologized for it even though she never meant any disrespect. I personally don't think she should have apologized as bands open for bands all the time but it was her choice to do so.

There's literally nothing bad in opening for another band at all.
As for how I know she did not intend any disrespect is because I know her.
I met her and she was nothing but respectful, humble, and friendly.
I am a big Liliac Fang.I also like The Warning. But I lean towards Liliac. I have seen so many negative comments towards Liliac that I find it hard to listen to The Warning. Both bands sound great. Everyone has their opinion weather I like it or not. I just have to say thank God it's not country music. Rock on and Rock hard.
Good point about not being country, where songs are bought and sold.
I like that this track touches on genuine emotion. It could be a great track with better production. Just misses some of the nuance and touch that a top producer could bring to the track.
Liliac won't shake their image as a cover band if they keep putting out covers. They do a good job and their covers get a lot more views than their original music. So you reap what you sow.
They built their following by playing covers so well that they got a lot of attention from fans of those songs. They're gradually expanding their repertoire and reaching out to new fans, but they haven't forgotten their base, and they keep mixing in new covers for them. It certainly seems to work for them. I was amazed the first time I saw kids playing Crazy Train (and doing it really well), and all the other covers they did really hooked me. Now I love a lot of their originals, too. Their approach may not work for you, but it works for a heck of a lot of their fans.
@@tomdodds8091 The covers are what draw in new fans. But they have only been moderately successful converting those cover fans to fans of their original music. UA-cam views and Spotify streams make that clear.
Balls to the wall with cookie cutter Hard Metal gets boring after a while. Beatles did a LOT different types of songs, between Hard Days Night to the White Album. So...4 albums of ORIGINAL SONGS..counting the one coming out this spring. Covers are by request by fans, only. Stop trying to place this Band into a very small box....maybe go and watch a LIVE ORIGINAL song? "Anxiety kills the Beautiful" recorded right off the sound board at Rock Fest 2024 ( August) in Wisconsin. BTW: they even wore Heavy Metal black clothes!
Liliac is a good band known for UA-cam covers that play in bars. The Warning are potentially a generational band. I don't get the comparison.
You are the only so called reaction person I have ever seen that reacts with stirring up dirt one is a signed band one is not and being independent they have come out with a ton of originals you are self projecting with obviously a heavy liking for the Warning. Making comparisons is unprofessional. The signed band vs independent band thing. The Warning had 1 ep and two albums as an independent band. The same as Liliac.

Just react to the song don’t want to hear your advice on what they should do, unless you are managing a band that’s winning Grammys your opinion is just that. Personal I liked the song.
Sorry i dont do the traditional rection content, i find alot of reaction content is just posiive to keep people watching and not actually give honest opinions. There are some reaction channels that are very good at giving balanced feedback on the song and the artist but some are just fickle. I know my style is not for everyone and i appreciate your time to check it out, even if it is only for this video.

You start your review by saying don’t compare Liliac to The Warning, and then you proceed to compare the two bands at every opportunity. Just admit you are a Warning bigot and be done with it. Jeez
When i did some earlier reviews of them the comments would always get people going on about the two bands so on this ne i decided to face into it head on to stay ahead of the comments. Of the two bands i am more of a The Warning fan although they have tracks im not a big fan of. Liliac have some great songs but also some tracks that i personally have no interest in. The potential for liliac is there , they just need to try and focus on consistancy, everytime i get some sort of video or post from them they are trying out different looks and styles etc. This is fine when your starting out but right now i think they should stop the covers for two years, stabilise the overall look of the band and focus on getting new videos and writting new material. Something that is more stable and rooted then they can develop and bring their fans with them. It a personal opinion and i will continue to support them and see how they grow.
The only people I ever see online criticizing Liliac for doing covers is The Warning fans. I mean who cares , as long as they do the original justice?

Not warning fans. A few exceptions only… outliers. Most of us respect and appreciate Liliac very much. I personally prefer the warning’s music, but damn i love the three eldest members of Liliac

Dust to Dust is still the best thing they’ve done imo. That’s a genuine rock song.
As a The Warning fan I love Liliac's covers. It's just that most of their originals I really don't like.

Both got recognized off covers.
The Warning with Metallica and Liliac with Dio and Metallica.
I prefer Liliac's originals from Queen Of Hearts and Madness albums over their covers.
Liliac îs far above The Warning it is hard for me to understand any kind of rivalry. The Warning are good but sing like girls, nothing special. They need a more unique vocalist. Melody's voice is beyond anyone else today or in decades.
The Warning sing like girls? Yeah, that's because they ARE girls. Go figure. Hahahaha!
On the other hand, yes, Melody has an outstanding voice, but there's nothing truly original about her. She can't seem to just be herself (whatever that is), and get over and beyond the imitating Ronnie James Dio thing.
The one main negative thing about Liliac is that they've seemed more concerned about being so-called 'rock stars' than simply serious well-educated, well-trained and disciplined musicians. I blame the poor influence and misguidance of their father for that.
He somehow irrationally and ignorantly thought that the novelty of them being young decent musicians would be enough to make them super successful. BUT, that novelty wore off once they aged and the harsh reality set in that success comes down to the learned ability to actually consistently write great songs. PERIOD.
For ten years, The Warning has surpassed and continues to surpass Liliac in all the above aspects in spades. Their FIRST priority from the beginning has been to be the very best, well-rounded musicians they can be, without ego, without being posers and without being on a 'Rockstar' trip. And, the proof is in the pudding, as they say. Their continued and increasing success year after year has been hard-earned by discipline and honest, pure work ethic; nothing less and nothing more.
You don't earn and aren't awarded scholarships to attend a Berklee College of Music Summer Youth Program at ages 10, 13 and 15 like The Warning girls did to study music theory, composition and stage performance by the novelty of young age. It's earned by already being trained musicians in classical piano literally since the ages of 4, 6 and 7 and then bass, drums and guitar at ages 7, 6 and 8 respectively.
THAT'S where success and great songwriting ability begins.

Melody Cristea has a truly unique versatile voice that is full of emotion and if I heard it on the radio I'd immediately know who it is.
For me, Melody is great and she should make her way with some super band. She is for more and I thought that at some point she would take off on her own.
Listening to this video, I could see the guitarist taking off. Besides his guitar chops that I already knew about, now I see hear that he's a very good singer. With a bit of coaching, he could be top-level.
@@rexwave4624 Samuel Cristea has a good voice but it's too soft for Rock/Metal unfortunately. He's an awesome guitarist though and still just 24.
@@VW20-bq9in too soft now, but with the right coaching he could elevate his vocal energy. I look at how Dany of The Warning has done that (and extended her belting range), so I’ll bet that Samuel could do the same.
