    Dear Sir, you are telling about dumble exercise for chop practice, howe much weight of dumble should be at starting level and what would be time duration for this dumble exercise. Kindly guide.

      It depends what you can do in terms of physical abilities, but if have no injuries and healthy then a solid 5kg is a very good starting point.
      This drill is good: Do this for EACH chopping side
      20 sec
      40 sec
      60 sec
      Once you get comfortable you can increase the weight or push it for 30sec / 60 sec / 90 sec.
      Make sure you do not RUSH each of the thing. You should do it sharp movements, but steady. This will help you grow the forearm muscles as well so pace yourself. If you feel lil pain / tense arm then keep pushing. It just shows your progression, but if you're in a lot of pain take a break :)

    This guy does a great job explaining the technical basics. I’m taking 2 lessons a week, and I always follow up with this coach, he reinforces good mechanics. Keep it up. You don’t have an Irish “accent”, but the Irish are wonderful people, so I can see how you landed on the Emerald Isle.

      Thank you and yes you got the style of my coaching. I believe basics are very important to grow and become stronger. The intermediate or advance tips also become easier and faster to learn once your basics are smooth and accurate.
      Where are you located Robert? Maybe one day we could meet up for a game or a lesson :)

    It can also be used as a long push for heavy backspin serves. Good teaching!

      @@dublintabletennisclub sir, what id difference in forehand drive and forehand smash.

    • @dublintabletennisclub
      @dublintabletennisclub  3 роки тому

      Basically the height of the ball. Smash the ball bounces high on your side and slow ish so you have plenty of time to sort your feet out and just deliver a heavy smash / smack style attack on it.
      Kind like what you see in tennis.
      The forehand drive is your standard rally technique to use / attack a normal high ball

      Thanks Martin!! That's really nice to hear how involved you are with the channel :)
      I use RoboPong 2050 because I love the control panel, not expensive to repair every 2-4 years and easy to explain for every player who wants to use it at my club!
